  • I received a very thorough eye exam from Dr. Smart. He seemed very knowledgeable and allowed me all the time I needed both for the exam and to answer my questions. When I left his office, I felt that he really cared about his clients. Then came Brenda. She is so bubbly, friendly, and patient. She left me alone to look over the bank of glasses on my own. After I made my selections, she chose some she thought might also suit me. She was very patient while we considered each pair. She has a real eye for style which helped me make a choice I was very happy with.

    When the glasses came in, Brenda again took her time in adjusting my glasses which has always been a problem for me. She assured me I was welcome to return for readjustments as needed, an important service in my case. An efficient handling of the billing process capped what was an excellent experience overall.

  • Eye exam and purchase of new frames/progressive lenses. Bought two pairs of prescription glasses: regular and sunglasses. I was having some difficulty with the new glasses. Dr. Applegarth did additional extensive testing and consulted with a colleague that is an expert in the area in which I am having vision problems. Through Dr. Applegarth's skill, knowledge and determination, he was able to identify my unusual vision problem and ordered new glasses for me. Through all of this he exhibited the utmost in genuine care and concern for me, He was not going to give up until he identified what was causing my vision problems and found a solution. He did all of the additional testing and ordered new glasses at no cost to me. In my 40+ years of seeing eye doctors, he is by far the most professional and knowledgeable vision specialist I have been to. I highly recommend him.

  • Very friendly office staff. Dr. Smart also very friendly and knowledgeable. Uses a computerized system to determine your prescription. It automatically analyzes your eye dimensions and some other things to determine what the corrective lens should be. He doubles checks this with the standard machine we're all used to (the one where you look thru and he interchanges different lenses: and quot;is it better with 1 or 2, with 2 or 3and quot;, etc).
    Nice selection of frames to choose from. Staff were very good and patient in helping me find the right frame.

  • This was the most thorough eye exam I have had. Dr Weitkamp is so nice, patient, and makes you feel comfortable. I sometimes have a hard time deciding which slide is clearer. He will go back as many times as needed.
    The girl that runs the office was also extremely nice and spent more time with me trying on glasses than anyone ever has. She is honest with what looks good and what may not be a great choice. I needed that! If you don't find the glasses you want she will show you catalogs to choose from and will order them in for you to try. Great experience and most important, when I got my glasses the prescription was right on!

  • Dr Rohla has been the optometrist for our whole family for 10 years. He is so kind and gentle. Very relaxed manner, yet is thorough and listens well. His staff is so helpful making sure to work within our insurance coverage. We tried to go elsewhere once as it seems frames are SO expensive! We found the same prices (nearly) at the big box chain store and went back to Rohla.

  • The receptionist who initially greeted me was not very friendly or welcoming. In my opinion, I did not think her appearance was of the professional caliber I expect in a health care office (clothing, attitude, tattoos, etc. not exactly professional).
    Dr. Rohla himself had a very negative, pessimistic attitude during my visit - with compaints on just about everything, from politics, insurance, local government, etc. While I may have agreed with some of his opinions, his droning on over some of these topics became depressing, and quite frankly inappropriate, especially for a new patients first visit.
    He was quite abrupt with my exam and, when he informed me about cataracts starting to appear he was very blunt and uncaring in his manner and speech. This news really shocked me as this has never even been suggested in exams with previous eye doctors (which I have annually). I'm a few years away from 60, and while cataracts are not unheard of at my and quot;youngand quot; age, they are not typical. I will see what is discovered on my next eye exam (which I'm now due for), with another doctor.
    Per Dr. Rohla's exam, my eye glass prescription changed enough to warrant new glasses. I was escorted to the front retail area to look for frames and order my new glasses. The individual who assisted me here was fine - not great, but not bad either. Their selection is a bit limited, at least based on my experience at my previous eye doctors in our old location. I should have just taken the prescription and gone to another frame/lens retail location for a better choice, but I didn't.
    I ordered my new frames and lenses, paid the copay and the portions not covered by insurance. I received a call a few weeks later that my glasses were in. I went back to the office where the technician fitted the frames for me. I am not sure the prescription determined by Dr. Rohla was accurate, as I have never been completely comfortable with my vision with these new glasses.
    I am now due for my next annual exam, and I will be seeking a different optomotrist. I do not intend to go back to Dr. Rohla as I did not have a very good experience the last time. Perhaps something had happened that caused it to be a bad day for Dr. Rohla when I was there, but I am not going to take a 2nd chance. I need to find an optomotrist that I have confidence in and that has a more patient focused attitude.

  • His equipment is very up-to-date and his staff is friendly and efficient. I had probably one of the best and accurate eye exams I have had in a long time. The communication is very good. There is no fault whatsoever with the billing.
