    We told them we lived out of town but would make a special trip so we could get our refrigerator repaired. We scheduled the visit three weeks in advance. We had a time of 8 am to noon. Around 10 am we get a all they cannot make the visit they are overbooked for the day. They did not even want to discuss the fact this was scheduled way in advance and the 6 hour trip we made just to get this fixed. They hung up the phone on us.

    Ruffoni's Home Appliance
    I worked with the Arroyo Grande store of Ruffoni's. Delivery date was delayed twice but the only way I knew about it was by following up a week past the promised dates. No communication from Ruffoni's about the delays. Delivery/ installer was early and did not call ahead so we were not prepared for him. He did not introduce himself and was very unsafe almost breaking an overhead fixture. He seemed to be in a hurry. Also, he did not clean up after installation leaving a mess for me to clean up. Price was comparable to Adler's and Home Depot and product works as expected. I was looking to support local small business by choosing to work with Ruffoni's but will not use them again or recommend them to others.

    Sears Appliance Repair
    Sears warranty is worse than useless. I purchased a water heater here. I bought the one with the longest warranty which is 12 years, so that I would not have to worry about a repair anytime in the near future. After 4 years, my Kenmore water heater started gushing water. After calling the service number, it took 3 more days for a repair person to come. When that person did come (showing up late after I had already waited 4 hours) he told me a repair part was necessary and that he would "expedite" the ordering. Well, if expedite means that it will come a week later, then I guess he did. Has anyone heard of FedEx? In the meantime, I was without how water for 10 days. I talked to the service people (who by the way are based in Manila) and to the store manager multiple times to ask for a faster resolution. The answer I uniformly got was "I do not have the authority to help you with that." I probably made a dozen calls. At one point the hold was so long I gave up. I could not wait any longer, and paid a local plumber to install a new water heater. It was worth $1000 to get rid of that appliance and all of the bad karma from Sears. Sears, shame on you.

    I contacted Hilton Upholsterer and spoke with Jose concerning the covering of the wooden arms of my recliner chair.  Jose had me e-mail him some pictures of the chair and I received a quote of $200 that same evening.  Jose stopped off at my house the next day with leather strips for a color match.  He found a close match with the color and texture of the chairs existing leather from his remnants bin.  This kept me from having to purchase a new hide and accomplish a color match.  Jose picked up the chair and had it back to me within 4 business days.  The workmanship was excellent, and I could hardly tell that the new padded arms were not part of the original chair.

    It went great! Thomas obviously takes a lot of pride in his work. He took pains to match grain and wood and when something did not go exactly right the first time he worked at it until it did. Thomas takes his time but only as long as one might expect from a crafts person. I think the end result is great and everyone who sees it has only good things to say. A manufactured piece would never have the character that ours does. It is clearly one of a kind. If Thomas was supposed to be at an appointment he always called if he was running late. A bonus: the bed comes assembled and Thomas installs it so you do not have to.

    david and his crew did a beautiful job on my chairs, sparing no effort on details. the sofa is a complicated chippendale style. the finished product is terrific. i have taken two more chairs to david and am confident that i will be thrilled with the result.

    They were very polite and did extra work on the installation such as removing some trim and moving the 220 outlet from the dryer to the kitchen so I could have an electric stove. The did this at no extra charge after buying the appliances

    failed  twice while previously IN warranty. When the refrigerator subsequently failed just after the dishwasher died, we beat feet and went to Sears to purchase two new appliances. Two-year-old appliances should not have to be replaced unless they are cheaply made and woefully maintained, and that was not the case in these instances.

    Very professional! Very promplt! The guys arrived as scheduled. Upon inspection of the area where the dishwasher was to be attached, the guys realized they didn't have the correct hoses with which to completely install and hook up the dishwasher. (I live in an old house, so the pipes/fittings were a bit and quot;differentand quot;.) A couple of days later, they returned, and the job was completed without further delay. Moreover, even though I live 25 miles from their shop, Rick's Appliances did not charge a second fee for their second trip. Sadly, I cannot remember the crew members' names. I also cannot recall the office manager's name; she was so VERY helpful. I was extremely pleased with the entire transaction.

    Looking back at the several repair visits, we believe that Ruffoni's was replacing the wrong
    parts. At the end of our dealings, they wanted to repair another part at a cost of $340.00
    more. At that time we gave up on them as incompetent.
