Door Installation reviews in Pismo Beach

  • This was an excellent experience from start to finish. The customer service rep sent me all the information I needed and once we chose the door we wanted she set up an appointment within a few days for measuring and inspecting our garage door opener.
We were told in advance that because our door was a special order it could take up to two weeks but to our suprise they were ready to go within about 10 days. Once we were notified of its arrival an appointment was immediately set up for installation within a few days.
Our installer, Milt Plumey, was extremely punctual and efficient. he removed the old door, installed the new one and hooked up our existing garage door opener within a few hours time. He took the time to explain everything to us as far as proper care and maintenence of both the door and the opener. We truely appreciated that he was so thorough.
Could not ask for more - great service, quality product and reasonable prices!!!

  • We had previously spent $50 for Home Depot to measure and search for a door for us.  We were quoted that the door would cost $2,000 and that installation would be an additional $500 for that door alone.  Any other work, such as installing the replaced door in another door frame, was to be extra.  The young man from Home Depot (emphasis on young) did not instill a great deal of confidence in me, although he may have done a good job.

However, I them remembered Richard, "The Door Guy".  Richard was very professional.  He immediately found a person who could build the door for us, for less than half of what we were quoted for from Home Depot.

Richard is a true craftsman. He showed up on time and immediately set up a mini-shop to do his work.  It is clear he takes a great deal of pride in what he does. Richard actually did a little extra work and did not charge us to haul the old door away.

The job he did could not have been done any better.   Great job! Great price!

  • we are completely satisfied with his professionalism, work ethic and timeliness. he replaced our back garage side door, repaired an inside door and completly rebuilt the opening for a new front door with side lites on the front. he was helpful in answering all questions before we ordered items. we would most certainly call and use him again.

  • Appreciating that the work was performed on a SFR rental property and that we live out of the area, Bill was thoroughly communicative via email and telephone.  He provided an thorough estimate of the work he thought needed to be performed, when he would be able to perform the work, and the time it would take to perform the tasks.  He provided his services precisely as contracted for, provided detailed photographs of critical features of work performed.  His priced was very fair and in line with or in some cases considerably less expensive than other competitive bids.  I will definitely contact Bill for any future carpentry needs that may arise on this property.

  • Very professional.  Provided new Emteck door knobs for a new home.  Had trouble with an internet vendor prior to going to Agoura Sash and Door.  Very nice people very professional and had my hardware within a week.

  • The garage doors were installed wrong and did not line up
with the openings and the 18-foot door did not seal at the bottom and was hung
with one side much higher then the other. The large rollers used were hitting
the concrete before the door seal would touch the concrete. After more than two
different service calls and adjustments the large door still did not work
properly. The door would bind up at the top and bottom making it very hard to
open. When the doors were installed the power was not turned on in the house
and the doors had to be opened manually. No stops were put in the track
therefore when the door was opened with it being very heavy and the springs
wound very tight it would rely on the motor and the lift arm to stop the door therefore
bending the arm. The arm was removed by the installer and never replaced.
    I called Pioneer
Door in Covina CA and asked the owner Allen Hill to come the 200 miles up the
coast to Arroyo Grande and see if he could determine what the problems were with
the door. Allen came up late on 2/28/09 and the next day came and looked at the
doors. After his inspection it was determined the bottom rollers were hitting
the concrete before the door would seal at bottom. The lower roller shafts were
bent from the installers trying to adjust the doors to get them to seal. The
doors were not adjusted properly and were binding at the top and bottom.

    Allen disassembled
the track and removed the rollers and straightened the roller shafts as best he
could. Then he ground out the concrete so the door would seal before the
rollers would hit and bend the shafts again. Then he installed the rollers,
aligned the track, adjusted the springs properly, took the opener bar off one
of the other doors and installed it on the 18-foot door.
    Now the door can be
opened manually or by the electric opener with ease and the door seals as it
    should.

  • It went exceptionally well. I was moving from Los Angeles to Arroyo Grande and doing this long distance. The screen people worked with my realtor to accommodate her schedule. They had a good selection of colors and discussed options with me. They came on time and completed the work on the day I moved in. They did an excellent job. I would definitely hire them again.

  • Gino was prompt with his estimate.  He was very professional, and always let us know what time to expect his arrival.  We needed a lot of smaller jobs done and were afraid we wouldn't be able to find  a good painter who would take a small job.  Gino did excellent work, protected all surfaces not being painted, and cleaned up well.  He was also  very flexible in accommodating my schedule.  We have already scheduled another job with Gino.  We've hired other painters in the past and it wasn't always a great experience.  Gino has such a common sense approach to painting, and the care he takes in your home really shows.  We are extremely satisfied with Gino's work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Archer Painting to anyone.

  • Ted is both trustworthy and very talented. His pricing is competitive and he is a perfectionist. With this job, he was very flexible as I wanted to prime and paint all of the boards before he put them up, so we worked in tandem. Ted has integrity as he treats each job with the eye of doing a great job and I've seen him redo something that wasn't up to his standards, when, to be honest, I would not have been able to tell the difference. Trust and talent are the two reasons I would highly recommend Ted.

  • Originally called in because of mysterious water damage to some baseboards and we wanted better doorstops than the house came with (all moldings were and quot;medium density fibreboardand quot; and too flimsy for the usual stuff). He gave us a firm estimate, a clear timetable. Both were quite reasonable, and he honored them.
On seeing mold behind the baseboards, he advised looking into the walls a bit, and sure enough, there was mold there too. A lot, but localized. It appeared to have come from a water heater that had previously failed and been replaced. Full treatment of the situation would require at least temporary removal of the existing water-heater, and he recommended a plumber for that.
We decided to do some other plumbing as well, and he and the other guy collaborated well on getting it done with minimum disturbance.
At every stage, we got written quotes, reasonable timetables, and excellent service. It was a relief after some experiences with other providers to not feel we were oversold or overcharged on any part of this work.
