    Mr Attic
Great! I heard noises in the roof, so I called Attic solutions and Joshua came out to do an inspection. He inspected and then told me that the noises were probably coming from above the roof and not inside because he saw no evidence of rodents. He recommended hiring someone to to trim the trees around the house so that nothing finds its way in in the future. Mostly I was just so grateful for the honesty.

I called Attic Solutions after having a big rodent problem in our attic. I scheduled a free appointment with Joshua, the owner, and he came out himself to perform the inspection. He took good pictures that helped me determine the areas where the rats were coming in the house and showed us the condition of our insulation. The insulation was definitely old and covered with rat droppings. We chose to hire Joshua and his team. This was the second estimate and I felt the price was more than fair for the work that was required. Joshua and his team were very professional and they did a great job. I would definitely recommend them. Thank you Attic Solutions!!!!

    ATTIC STAR
    - They said the project would be complete btw 2:30 - 3:30, they were still here at 6:00 - They said they got all the insulation out, but the people who replaced the insulation showed me pictures that proved that was not the case. - They used masking tape on the wallpaper in the room where the access to the attic was, and it ripped the paper off the wall when they removed it. They didn't even tell me about it, and just waited for my response, apparently hoping I wouldn't see it. - They left bunched up duct tape in the driveway and on my sidewalk. - I asked them to discount the replacement of the insulation because of the issues listed above, and they still came in more than $1000 more than their nearest competitor, and that was for R30 rather than R38 (which what we ended up getting for $1000 less)

Feraru & Associates Building & Design Inc
In February we had a major water damage in our house. I called Sorin Feraru to evaluate the situation. The damage involved the removing of walls (all the Drywall, insulation, hardwood floors, partially subfloors had to be removed in the Kitchen, Dinning Room, Hallways, Master Bedroom, Master Bathroom and Guestroom). Removing furniture etc. dehumidifying for 7 days of all the wet areas. Replacing of all the drywall, insulation, installing new and refinishing the hardwood floors, painting of all the rooms and closets of the affected areas. Sorin was responding promptly. He and his crew came in on a Saturday to start removing the wet materials and begin the dehumidifying process.
I can only speak very highly of Sorin Feraru and his crew, They are very hardworking, trustworthy guys, cleaned up well after at the finished at the end of the day.
Sorin is very professional, he communicates very well, answers phone calls, emails, text messages in a timely manner. He is an excellent contractor, very easy to work with. Even though we had an Emergency situation, I was very lucky that Sorin agreed to take on the project. For the quality of the work Feraru & Associates provided the price was reasonable and justified.
Thank you, Sorin and Crew for the outstanding work  you guys did to get our house back together in time.
I would hire Feraru & Associates again for any project in our house. I had only positive experience with them.

    ATTIC STAR
This was a big disappointment. They arrived on time and seemed professional. They used second hand covering for carpets and seemed sloppy so I paid more attention than I would have. The supervisor left the two worker to do all the clean out but the work was done well. Then came time to patch, sanitize and re insulate. The patching seemed well done. The sanitize was spraying bleach water around. Still fine. I counted bags of insulation used to cover the space and determined they used far less than quoted. The square footage they charged me for and the amount of insulation to reach the quoted r factor was far off - about 25% less than the label from Owens Corning. I confronted the crew and at first they said more insulation was coming. Then later they said they needed less than expected but still charged based on the original square footage quoted. Unable to resolve this I was put in touch with the owner/manager who was the most rude business owner I've encountered. Was unapologetic about the quote for far more insulation than used on the job. After telling them I would just have a contractor come and do the correct amount later - they packed up and left. They left a huge mess, a damaged attic door and the next morning found significant paint damage from the hose they used to blow in the insulation. I took photos of the mess left behind in shock that anyone respectable service provider would do this. I would be happy to share photos with anyone considering this vendor. Beware!

    McHale's Environmental Insulation Co
Dan was terrific!  He came out a few months ago, explained what needed to be done - and even said we wouldn't be charged for part of our house.  His workers came out promptly a week or so later punctually and did the work.
More amazing, however, was when another contractor (whom we have used before and trust) disputed that the work had been done up to standards, Dan agreed to meet with that contractor and resolve any outstanding issues.  He showed up with two of his workers ready to perform any necessary work.  Our other contractor and he met together and, without any bruised egos, Dan acknowledged that, due to a possible misunderstanding, some more work needed to be re-done.  As it turned out, our other contractor also had misunderstood part of what McHale's had originally taken on to do.  Everything worked out fine!   Dan said that his philosophy is "to kill with kindness."  And I think that's what it's like doing business with him and McHale's.  I would highly recommend his company - and him! - to anybody who needs the kind of services they perform.

I was really happy with the end product, and everyone who works on his team are friendly and courteous and respectful.  I was on site the entire time, so I had a lot of interaction with them.  The quality of the work was great, and Tom always gave me affordable options for things I wanted to achieve with the project.  I felt that I got a fair price for the level of work they delivered.
My one recommendation would be the same for any contractor you work with on a project-  when getting a quote, you should work to get as clear a picture as possible of exactly what is included and what is not included.  It might help to think through and do some research on the finishes you want (lighting, floors, doors, windows, etc) before talking to contractors.  If you have to pay for an itemized quote, I'd say it's worth the trouble and expense.  I was a little caught by surprise when some of what I thought I was getting wasn't allowed for in the estimate, and I had to some things myself on top of the initial estimate.  Also, the job took twice as long as the estimate.  I'm still a happy customer and will give him a call next time we have something we need done.

    Advanced Home Energy
They did a superb job, and although having this much work done (registers in every room) was of course disruptive, the crews were punctual, always polite, cleaned up after themselves every day, and were generally extremely pleasant to have around.  When the inevitable damages occurred (a broken floor tile, nicks in walls), the project coordinator sent a highly skilled repair person who fixed the problems by the next day to the point where we couldn't even tell which tile had been broken.  There were no unexpected charges and from beginning to end the job was handled with professionalism.

Clogged all soffet vents-failed to install dams to keep vents from getting covered. Cut a 110 volt ectrical circut when borring blowhole. Tried to blow in insulation a room that already had Fiberglass insulation. Reluctantly returned to correct air vents to attic only when I advised that payment would be withheld until correction completed.

I really used them because my friend has known that company since childhood and that is why I use them, so I didn't necessarily get go off Angie's list I may have kind of looked through, but the final decision I made was because of my friend knowing them, but they did do a good job. They were little expensive and all companies charge about the same because I had an estimate from another company and it was about the same and it was the going rate. The only trouble is they were one man short. It may have taken little longer, but it didn't take an excessively long period of time, I think that it might not have been as clean as I wanted it to be, but I would still say they did a good job.
