    Parker's Painting
Fantastic! The workers were punctual, very professional, neat and courteous. They also performed minor work, which they found along the way, without charge. Now, that is what I call great service! We will definitely use them again and highly recommend their services to others.

Simon and his company took over when 2 thieving contractors left us in the lurch; something not all contractors are willing to do. Those who did wanted a ridiculous amount to re-do/finish the job. Simon's estimate was reasonable and detailed for a couple of seniors who didn't know whom to trust in the business anymore. His hardworking crew was polite and on time every day and did quality work, keeping strictly to their work schedule. We always knew what was happening with our job. Simon was meticulous and took time to finish whatever he had promised to do, some days working alongside his men...even remembering little things we had forgotten. He never went back on his word; unlike everyone else we've worked with. Never before have we had the luxury of a contractor as professional, courteous and knowledgeable as Simon. Lucky us!

    Handyman Unlimited
Neutral I would say. I have had 2 experiences with them. The first one never received any feed back, no invoices, no phone calls. The second one was average at best. I did not get any work done. First time I never heard anything back. When they were here very professional. But after they left reaching out to the office, having someone call back, waiting for an estimate, not very good.

Paul and his crew were professional from consultation to cleanup. The consultation was done in a timely manner. Their price was great and their work was even better! Never had a contractor come ask me to do a walk around and inspect everything BEFORE they cleaned up! I noticed a few spots and they fixed them in the friendliest manner- not like they were being put out.
Paul gave good recommendations on colors but only when asked.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Wish I could upload before and after pictures! Never had such a pleasant experience with a contractor!

He showed up and was professional. He gave an estimate on the spot. We got a detail sheet from the city for the block wall for the footing and wall construction, per his request. He returned when we were ready to proceed and sign the lengthy contract. We gave him the city's specs and a deposit. He returned as agreed upon to start the project.
We noticed when the footing was poured that he was doing half the depth and half the width specified on the city sheet and put NO rebarb in the footing like the sheet showed. We brought it to his attention and he said we never gave him a spec sheet from the city. We went to his truck with him to look through paperwork and came across the spec sheet. He then back tracked and said it was just a guideline and not a requirement for the depth, width or rebarb. He stated he would give us his lifetime guarantee that the wall would not 'fall'.
They mixed the concrete on site using our hose/water and broke the spray nozzle but didn't say anything. The concrete they mixed to pour in the wall cells is not as solid as QuickDry concrete we have poured. It was more of a slurry mix.
When he built the wall, he knew we had plans to expand the driveway to the wall. He dug his footing so shallow that the footing is higher in some spots than the elevation of the driveway.
He left us with a pile of sand in the front yard and didn't clean up his mortar spoils.
Frustrated and disappointed. He got it done in the specified time and price but not to the specs that we agreed upon.
Watch this lengthy contract!!!!!! He uses it as his scapegoat since the city specs weren't added to the contract he used it as his excuse not to do it that way.
The craftwork looks good from far but already seeing cracks in the mortar joints and it hasn't even been 6 months :(

    West Hills Masonry
We just finished a major paver project with West Hills Masonry for portions of our driveway, front walkway, front courtyard, backyard patio and walkways, along with keystone retaining wall in our backyard. Carlos G. was our rep and he handled everything with ease and professionalism. It was no walk in the park as it took over a month from our first meeting to signing the contract, but Carlos was very patient and communicative the entire time.
Before the project began, we did a walk-thru with Carlos V., and he was no less stellar. Carlos V. was always available by phone and stayed up to date on our project; not once did we feel like he dropped the ball. He was always on top of things, and knew what the crew had just done and what they were doing next. Communication is key in construction projects and these guys were beyond great at communicating with us.
Now, the crew. They were as hardworking as it gets. They were here during the hottest days of September (100+ weather). Not once did they complain nor slack off. Towards the end of the project, they stayed well past dusk (7-8 pm) just to finish their work. We had the crew headed by Julian, who was meticulous and beyond detailed. If you're offered the choice, get the crew led by Julian, they won't disappoint! Here's why: I saw him build our retaining wall - Julian not only measured every stone with a small leveler to ensure the stones were level, he also used a large leveler every 2-3 stones to ensure the wall remained straight and level. He was also a master at the bobcat, having to maneuver around tiny spaces, being careful not to scratch/dent/touch/damage our new sunroom or stucco. The other crew members were also respectful of our property and helped to keep it clean - one of them even brought in our trash cans for us one morning! It is very refreshing to find a construction crew that respects and values your property.
Now that the project is finished, we love our yard and can't wait to have backyard parties. Two of our neighbors have already complemented on how beautiful the pavers look and we already referred them to one of our neighbors. If you're considering any masonry projects, specifically pavers, don't hesitate to give these guys a call. Even if you don't go with them, I can guarantee they will be one of your top contenders because that is how professional they are.

    Alcantara Construction
When we discovered the water leak damage, we contacted John Alcantara. He routed an emergency crew immediately and professionally came in to repair the leak. The leak was repaired the same day and a company came in to secure that our furniture was safe from damage. John expertly handled all insurance matters on our behalf. This alleviated an indelible amount of stress from us. Once the claim was satisfied, he went above and beyond to help us accomplish all the extra amenities we desired. His prices were exceptionally reasonable and affordable. We were able to do more than we expected as a result of his willingness to work with us. His crew is very professional, arrived on time every day, working a full days work and and assuring that to the best of their abilities we could live in our home during this repair. With all confidence I recommend Alcantara Construction, knowing that you will not be disappointed in hiring this company. Thank you John & Crew for a job well done.

    Robert Palacios Masonry Inc
Robert was very professional from the beginning.  I called him to set up 2 appts to provide fee estimate on d*** concrete for (1) our rental property's side yard and (2) front yard and back yard of our house.  Although we're located on the edge of areas serviced by Robert, he made an effort to drive out here and give a quote.  On top of that, he was able to come out on such short notice, because our rental was in escrow at the time so we had a very short window of time to work with.  Robert was very up front and honest about pricing, scope of work, and quality/longevity of the various products we discussed.  His quote was also on the lower end of the spectrum.  Unfortunately, we backed out of escrow on the investment property (purchased another that didn't need concrete work) and still haven't made a decision as to our own yard, but Robert remains on our list of contractors to consider when my husband and I finally have the chance to discuss the yard project!

We called Frank one late afternoon and he was at our house within three hours of the call and was able to give us a quote for the job in that first meeting. We work late and we so appreciated that he was able to work with our schedule and come to our house after normal working hours. He was extremely professional and gave us a status every step of the way. We would highly recommend him to others.

    Pedrino Home Remodeling
As I'm writing this review I have just barely signed a contract to have my home painted by Pedrino Home Remodeling.
My one story home is 1280 sq ft in size, made up up approximately 75% stucco, some wood siding in front, large wood eaves, 2 metal gates, and I have a lattice type wooden patio cover.
I had the great pleasure to meet owners Billie and Terri, and family member, Greg - all very personable down-to-earth people.   After meeting them it was difficult to want someone else to paint my home, and I had met some other very professional and nice contractors.  I had at least 3 other estimates from highly ranked/reviewed companies, and the reason I choose Pedrino is for several different factors.
Even though I did receive a lower bid from another highly rated and respectable Angie's list construction company, I chose Pedrino because I believe they are very genuine and thorough of what they say they will do.  They backed all this up with their own lifetime warranty for the paint on all the stucco and wood, along with a one time, no expiration date transferable warranty - which Tex-cote doesn't completely have, and no other painting contractor that I had contacted seem to go that far.   With their family owned business so long in existence I have that much more piece of mind for a very long time.
I don't think I can express completely how transparent they are with what the will do, how they will do it, what to expect when completed, and how easy it is confirm all their very respectable licenses, accreditation, awards, and length in business.
Once the work is completed I intend to continue my review, which I expect to be a continuation of everything I've began to state so far.
