    Precision Auto Works
It went well from start to finish.  Initially, I took the car in just to get an estimate.  I was given a written estimate and was also verbally informed as to what  needed repairing and how the repairs would be done. I was also given a date of completion of all repairs. I did shop around for several additional estimates and they were priced the best. All work was performed to my expectation and they even went a step further and repaired a small dent on my car that was not apart of my written estimate.

    HARRELL'S TRANSMISSION
This is a great shop, very friendly staff of people and all work was completed as stated.  I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. We  knew that something was clearly wrong with the transmission and we were not exactly sure what the diagnoses would reveal and how much this repair would cost us.  We were prepared for the worst and as it turned out, it wasn't  as bad as we had initially anticipated. They test drove the vehicle, checked all fluid level, etc. and informed us that the transmission simply needed to be serviced.  I do feel that if we had gone to some other transmission repair shop, the  price and  the outcome would have been a lot different and a lot more costly.

    JOHN ELWAY'S CROWN TOYOTA
The customer service is great. Its normally for the type of services I get, its about a two hour wait or so. You can leave your car but I wait. They have a nice waiting area and they give you coffee and a cinnamon roll in the morning if you get there early. They have an eating place there where you can buy breakfast or lunch, whatever you want and that's really neat.

Went in for smog check, showed the a coupon I had and had called to confirm about.  Receptionist told me it was expired and presented another that was $4 more.  Fine, not going to fuss over $4, though would have been nice for you to mention something about coupon being expired on phone in first place.  Car was taken in and when I went to pick up, the owner or main tech told me he wanted to show me something on my car.  The car was still parked in the shop with the hood open.  I had to drag my 3 yo over with me in 90 degree weather during her nap time just for the tech to show me dirty air filter and cabin air filter.  They had already been removed from the car, pretty sure it wasn't from my car because our car had just been serviced for 90k miles at Longo.  When I told the tech I had to check with my husband, who does all our car maintenance, he said "call him right now".  That's when I got livid and informed him I wasn't going to call my husband because he's at work.  I wasn't about to bother him about something that can wait.  Finally the tech stopped with his shenanigans.  Paid the smog check fee then left.  Needless to say, the tech installed the BAD filters into our car because the air in the car now smells funny.  Pretty sure they made off with our good filters to be re-installed in someone else's car. Won't ever be returning, even if they offer their services for free.

    FIRESTONE STORES
My husband and I have been going to this Firestone location for 3 years now.  In the beginning, we were rotating between this shop and another mechanic shop that we went to for 10 yrs.  It's hard to find a trusted auto mechanic shop so we don't change shops very often.  But because our old mechanic was slowly starting to increase prices, to the point where they were bordering on ridiculous, we have stopped going and have since been coming to Firestone for routine maintenance on all our cars, all of them Japanese and one luxury vehicle.  Their prices are fair and they always have specials/coupon deals.  If you sign up for their card, you can get 5% discount on all services performed (if a special price doesn't already apply).  Their synthetic oil change prices aren't as competitive as other shops but they're honest, straightforward, and never push you to purchase additional unnecessary services.  Plus, their staff is always professional and gets the job done on time; if they can't, they call you in advance and ask you if they can keep the car overnight.  One of the other great things about them is that they will always call you to advise on other problems with your car and seek your permission to fix first before doing the work; some of the other shops out there aren't so honest and trustworthy in this aspect.  Their staff is also VERY friendly and always willing to explain something to you; they don't rush you even if it's past their closing time (they work really hard too because they always seem to be working even when it's past closing).

    ECONO LUBE N' TUNE
Went to this Econo for smog check on a V6 Camry because of a coupon we received in the mail.  The coupon said $19.99 for smog check + cert fee (less than $10).  It did say that additional fees apply for SUVs and 6 cylinder vehicles, so I called the shop in advance to find out how much the additional fee was.  The rep on the phone told me no additional fee for 6 cylinder vehicles; I asked twice and he confirmed twice.  He also said no appointment, can just do walk-in's.  So I took our 6-cylinder Camry in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick smog check.  I arrived short of one hour before closing time, but they were able to accommodate me, which was generous of them.  They said it'd only take 30 mins and to return at 4:45 so I did.  When it came time to pay, the total came out to a flat $40.00 evenly, including an "additional fee" for 6-cyliner vehicle.  I don't like being lied to but I didn't say anything about the additional fee, after all, it was in fine print on the coupon, but the rep I spoke to could have been honest about it instead of misrepresenting it just to acquire new patrons.  And they did accommodate my last minute request for a smog check without hesitation.  But will I be returning in the future?  Probably not.

    Honest-1 Auto Care
I love this place. Nice friendly family run business. I felt that I could trust them not to rip me off. They had done a job on my other car's air conditioning system back in June and I was very happy that I had found them. The price on the battery was high compared to what I had payed AAA. The service man asked me if I wanted them to replace for $140 it or have AAA do it. I foolishly said you do it not realizing it was more money. I can't blame them for my stupidity. I will use them for all of our repairs now.

    Nutech Auto Repair
I've been going to Nutech and Jimmy for over a couple of years now with my 2004 Corolla and 2005 Sienna, and so far I don't intend to use anyone else (Used dealerships mostly before).   Jimmy works on all makes and models of cars and seems to make sure he is continually updating his skills and knowledge with frequent  seminars to keep up with latest changes in all vehicles.   At first he could seem aloof, but once you have been around him a little bit he is just an honest straight forward guy.
In my opinion he is very honest and fair with what he recommends and his pricing.   He has never charged me for diagnosing a problem, which as you probably know can range from $60 and usually more almost anywhere else.  He then explains what he thinks should or should not be fixed and lets you decide what you want to do.   He only recommends what needs to be done, nothing extra.     I've even tried to almost tell him some service or replacements may be due, and he will say he has checked it thoroughly and not needed, explains explicitly why, but says he'll do it if you absolutely want him too.   I've always gone with his recommendations and never been disappointed.  He uses OEM parts materials or what he feels is equivalent or better, and he'll explain why if you ask.
In the last instance of taking in my 2005 Sienna van I had a random problem with a/c hesitating to turn on.  After leaving it at his small shop in the morning before I went to work he called me later in morning and said he may have to replace motor unit which was approximately $600.   Of course I recoiled at this, but he has been so honest in past that I was prepared to go through with it.  When I went to pick it up he said he worked on trying to diagnose the problem some more and it seemed like a switch was the problem, which he charged $90 to replace.  I was so relieved, and so far, 5 months later, it seems to be working perfectly.

    Brakemasters
I have lifetime warranty on the pads, so I feel somewhat obligated to go there every time for brakes and alignment on my 2004 Toyota Corolla, but I do feel comfortable with the personnel there, and I believe they do give good advice for most part.   I think the parts they use could be of a little higher quality, meaning I don't think their premium material pads, drums or discs last quite as long as OEM parts.

    PurrfectAuto Shop
They did smog check good, but the few times I have gone for checking something or for other services they always seem to recommend something else that I don't feel is necessary.  I may use for smog check again, but not sure about anything else.
