"He did an excellent job, informing us that our gravity heat is thermostat needed replacing, but that gravity heat is going the way of the dinosaur. He brought a similar thermostat and installed it, testing it and setting it to right temp. We were very pleased.

"My air conditioner stop working just when the heat wave strike. I called another contractor and they want over $100 just to come over and check out the problem. I called
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
and he was able to came over later that morning. He was very nice and spend an hour diagnosing the problem. At first he was afraid that the motor may be defective and replacing could be expensive. Luckily it turns out my filters were very dirty and burns out the capacitor. He happened to have a new capacitor in his inventory and so he replaced it. I cleaned out my filters and the air conditioner has been running well so far.
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
is very helpful and I appreciate his honesty and professionalism.

"From day 1, this provider was excellent. Our project was somewhat complicated, as we did not have existing AC, did have asbestos ducts in our older home and the placement of our furnace made the addition of AC very tricky. We had multiple other providers come for a quote, with most being unsure of how to proceed (read:gave a quote assuming they could probably
do the job) or simply walked away without providing a quote at all due to the complexity. At the initial consult,
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
at
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
had the perspective and vision about how we could accomplish what we wanted in a way that we needed. Additionally, he has a gift for explaining technical building codes and efficiency factors in a way that was fully comprehensible and empowered us to make informed decisions. This provider's ability to provide a "one-stop shop" that was able to coordinate asbestos removal, completion of some required renovation for this project, as well installation of a high efficiency AC system (operational just as the weather turned especially HOT) was nothing short of excellent.
We elected to stay in the home during the work (never a fun thing to do). However, The
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
were very careful to consistently clean the work site on a nightly basis, making this much more bearable for us. They were always very responsive to any requests, patient in making sure they understood and addressed any concerns we had and assisted us with all paperwork associated with energy upgrade rebate programs for which we might be eligible. We were also very happy with the high quality of the work done. While home improvements of this scope often leave we home owners somewhat anxious about incurring such a high expense, we were very satisfied with the final product (which included some finish work) and believe that the project cost would have been considerably higher had we gone a more 'piece meal' route. We were randomly selected by the utility company to verify the scope of work performed by this provider. Even the 3rd party contractor hired by the utility company was impressed with the quality of the work, noting the high quality 'hospital grade' duct work utilized.
In short, this is an extremely professional, competent and responsive provider whom I would not hesitate to recommend.

"All went well - the report was interesting and worth the price. It was easy to discuss various routes for improvement, but there was no hard sell for anything beyond the audit. Very pleased overall, and I would recommend this company to anyone interested in learning more about their house."

replaced my 30-year-old HVAC unit three years ago (after I got their name from Angie's List). I was very impressed with
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
when he came out to give me a bid and I felt they did an excellent job installing the new unit. I purchased a maintenance contract with
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
at the same time and they have been very responsible, contacting me every six months to set up the twice-yearly maintenance provided under the contract. Naturally, my AC went out at the start of a Labor Day weekend heat wave. I called
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
first thing Tuesday morning, expecting it would be days before they could fit me in. But they said they could be there that morning and by 11:00 a.m.,
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
was there. He went up to the roof in the broiling heat and in very short order had the unit running again. I was very happy with
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
's quick and efficient response.

Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
was one of seven companies I interviewed about the job of removing our old air conditioner, heater and duct work and installing new air, heater and duct work.
Not only was their presentation better but their attitude towards the job was the selling point for me.
The two partners,
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
and
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
did the work themselves and did more than what they were contracted for at no added cost.
I have never had work done of any kind by craftspeople as well, professional and with care as these two men did.
AND it was done with a fantastic attitude and humor.
The job passed the HERS verification with flying colors.
I can not express enough how well the job went and would definitely recommend them to all.

"I selected
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
because of their high
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
on Angie's List and because their estimate was a little less than other highly recommended contractors. Their estimate also had added value in that they offered to suspend our furnace from floor joists to minimize the possibility of damage from basement flooding. If one is a tough and conscientious grader, there should always be some demerits on a big contracting job. Here are my, relatively minor demerits: They did not figure plenum size correctly and we were left with a partially finished job until the custom built plenum was delivered in a few days. The custom plenum is one of two plenums which provides intake air to the system. Until I asked them otherwise, they were about to leave us with the unfinished intake taking-in basement air (from a very rough, unfinished, dusty basement) and distributing that air around the house. As they originally designed the furnace suspension system, the furnace, would have thrashed itself to pieces in even a moderate earthquake. When I asked them to make the furnace more secure, they quickly complied. The part of the air conditioning system which sits outside (the condenser, i believe) was twice as big as I expected and the attached Energy Guide indicated it was at the bottom half, in terms of efficiency. The unit does not even have a brand name (visible to me) on the outside. It also generates more noise than I expected. So, I am left wondering if the other estimates might have been higher because they were using better-known equipment. I think that
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
should have done a better job of educating me about what equipment was available, the strengths and weaknesses of each, and the impact of different selections on price. Ok, so there are the dings, which forced me to give
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
a "B" for quality. On the upside, my requests to
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
's team were always positively received and acted upon. Also, our dual zone heating and air conditioning now works better than it has at any time in the past. If we have the upstairs zone on and downstairs zone off, there is absolutely no air being emitted from the downstairs vents. Further, the air conditioning system installed by the
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
team cools the house very quickly.

"I have a regular service contract with AirTro. Every time they come, they find something else wrong with my A/C unit that requires repairs. On the one hand, the unit is old and they keep it running (so, yay); on the other hand, the unit is on the roof so I pretty much just take their word for it when they say something is wrong.
So, I had them come out for my regular service. I was thinking of installing a programmable thermostat. When I called to schedule my service, I asked about programmable thermostats. The lady on the phone didn't volunteer any pricing info -- just said that they had all kinds of thermostats on the truck. OK then.
The guy arrived to do my service today. I asked him about a programmable thermostat -- he took a
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
model off the truck. Told me it was $241 (including tax and installation). This seemed kind of high to me, so I said I'd check pricing on the internet while he did the rest of my service. (He said fine.) I could get the exact same model thermostat for under $60. When I pointed this out to the service guy, he said he had no explanation for why they set their prices this high. I said I'd just buy it off the web and get a handyman to install it. At which point he volunteered that if I just buy it myself, he can install it at my next service appointment. (For ... forty-something ... I can't remember exactly.)
Bottom line: The thermostat is under $60 and they'd install for under $50. But if I buy it from them, they charge $241 -- quite the hefty overcharge of upwards of $130. I'm not against someone making a reasonable profit, but COME ON. (They wanted over $400 for the touch-screen model, which is even more of an overcharge.) This sort of crazy pricing makes me really start to doubt whether my A/C needs the repairs they're constantly recommending.

Edited to reply to
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
's response:
Just to be clear here, I'm not talking about an "internet wholesaler," I'm talking about Amazon, which is pretty much as retail as you can get. In any event,
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
can say what they want about how "skilled labor isn't cheap" -- their employee told me that if I bought the thermostat myself, they'd install it for under $50, so that certainly doesn't explain the overcharge. As I customer, not only do I need support and warranties, but I need the peace of mind that I'm not being taken advantage of. I'm sorry to say that
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
's response did not provide that for me -- but you be the judge.

"Everything went very smoothly. They showed up within the time window, and were extremely courteous and professional.
First step was to go through the house and check temperature and flow of air coming out of all registers. Ends up all vents had strong flow of cool air coming out, which meant the A/C itself was working properly. Because of this, there was no need to take the system apart to check any components. Nonetheless, they went on the roof and checked the unit for anything that might indicate a future problem. They also removed all our filters (which are cleanable and reusable).... we clearly need to check them more often! They were quite dirty, but he cleaned them all and reinstalled them.
It was a
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
checkup, but it was also a way for us to become familiar with
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
for future needs. Important to us was that there was no attempt to "upsell" or perform unnecessary work.
I would definitely work with
Pasadena HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
again.
