    I worked with Anesta and Guy to set up my gym, and they were AWESOME! ?Here are some highlights: *Guy, the owner, returned my first call and answered all my questions on a weekend?during off hours. *Guy himself came to our site to give us a free estimate. *When I called the office, Anesta knew me by name even though we had not talked yet. *Anesta set me up with a wonderful handyman when their guy hurt his back. *Anesta was able to accommodate last minute schedule changes on my part - twice - without missing my deadline. *The work their handyman, Danny, did was flawless and on time and under-budget! In addition to all of this, they were gracious and kind and lovely and honest the whole time. If you want this kind of experience, call them!

    Brad has been my trainer for over three years. He has worked with me two to three times a week since we first started. I first trained with him at a large well known facility and now at a smaller gym which caters to people who wish to work with trainers.
    He has been sensitive to my individual needs and has varied the routines to develop strength. As a result, my strength and balance are excellent and I am able to do many things that most people my age are unable to do. The workouts have also increased my lung capacity. He continues to educate himself and is very knowledgeable about muscle, ligaments and the way they work together. He has a positive personality and a good sense of humor. He encourages me to increase weights and repetitions but never beyond my capacity. He is alert to proper form and will explain and teach proper posture for the routines which prevent injury. All in all, I enjoy working with Brad. And I am very happy with the results.

    I love the yoga and zumba classes here. I wish there was more natural light but since it's underground, it's understandable. Staff is friendly and they just renovated it so it looks better. Overall, I like this gym!

    Terrible.  Will never use or recommend them. It would have been easy to stop charging my card or offer me a refund. They did neither, they just kept charging until I cancelled my card number with my credit card company.

    I enrolled in one of their 3 month training program called Peak 10 before enrolling in the gym.  The instructors are very knowledgable and accessible.  Every instructor is in tip top shape!!!.   The peak 10 program was tough and I wanted to drop out but I didn't.  I kept going and saw amazing results.  They provided each of us with a food guide, we had to weigh in once a week on a sunday, and provided 3 days a week intense workouts.  I decided to enroll in the gym and  I love my experience.  It is clean, people are there to work out and the energy is great.  Now I am doing ATC and I love it as well as all the other group classes.

    My final choice was (to my surprise) Golds, about a 10 minute drive from where I live. Going for it: 1) Comprehensive weight and aerobic equipment (if not all the newest); 2) Easy parking; 3) Near the 210 Freeway; 4) Inexpensive; 5) Very peaceful non-peak hours 9 a.m. to 3 .m. where you have your choice of equipment. I have my own routine and don’t take classes or need instruction. Golds also has shaded atrium with equipment that is very enjoyable on all but the hottest days. Golds has a casual vibe in a two large, warehouse style buildings. I find in enjoy its gymness; if you want luxury surroundings, Golds won’t be your choice.

    Carina Weston offers semi-private personal training at her ProFitness Network gym in Pasadena. It's great. She trains several people at once but personalizes each one's workout. She has all the necessary equipment there and is also good about teaching creative exercises that work out several parts of the body simultaneously. She attends workshops and conferences regularly to keep up on the latest trends in personal training. She has a pleasant attitude and creates a comfortable atmosphere in her gym. The workout hour begins with 15 minutes of cardiovascular exercise on a machine (i.e., treadmill, bicycle), and then a few minutes of ab work on a mat. Then the bulk of the hour is spent doing exercises with various weights, bands, steps, machines, etc. For the last 5 minutes she sends you back to the mat to stretch on your own. There is a spacious restroom with a shower and towels provided for anyone who has to go straight to work after the session (I took advantage of this frequently). Carina's semi-private trainings are both affordable and effective. I would still be a regular if it weren't for difficulties in my schedule that could not accommodate the location.

    The last time I went, I got the last elliptical machine, did my workout and went to the locker room. I almost slipped on the steps but no big deal. I had to park 3 blocks away this time and just found everything took longer to accomplish. Going to a more outlying site works best for me. I always like the staff so the visit was ok in the end.

    The staff is fabulous and the service they provide is fabulous. It is the only exercise place I have really enjoyed going to. They accept all ages and they have programs for students up to senior citizens.
