Bathtub Refinishing reviews in Pasadena

    Eden Builders
This review is long overdue, and specifically for Alex Voloshin. If yelp would allow me to give Alex 10 stars out of 5, I would definitely give him 10 stars. Where do I start? From the get go, my husband and I had met with 4-5 other companies for our home addition. Every other company was a joke compared to Alex. They would give us a range of how much our job was going to cost without breaking down the details. When we received Alex's bid, I was so amazed! He listened and took down notes for every little detail that we discussed from the day we met, and broke down all the costs involved. Eden Builders was not the cheapest or the most expensive quote. But because of Alex's attention to detail and responsiveness, we decided to go with Eden Builders. Our whole construction process was estimated to take 5 months-and we literally pretty much took that long. During the process, Alex was patient and understanding with the quality of work we wanted. Nothing was approved by Alex to be finished unless it looked perfect. He came by our house every day that he had his workers there to check that everything was completed correctly. I don't know if Alex ever rests. He would answer our texts no matter how late it was at night. The end result was beautiful!! Now that we have moved in, it's bittersweet that we have to part ways with Alex. So, all in all, please do yourself a favor if you are going to remodel, and call Eden Builders. Their customer service, quality of work, and attention to detail will really wow you!

    Eden Builders
I highly recommend Eden builders for anyone looking for a great general contractor! We were so impressed with their quality of work and personal relationship we developed with the whole team. They provided us with a complete and detailed estimate of exactly what we wished and desired and then we changed it a bit to what we could afford. :) Their craftsmanship was amazing, and each person was highly skilled in his trade. You will not regret your decision to work with Eden Builders.

    Eden Builders
A group of professional and knowledgeable are really what you are looking for when searching for a general contractor, and we found exactly that in Eden Builders. Even though we have lived in a construction environment for a month, our project supervisor, Roy, made the process smooth and provided great customer service throughout the project. Eden Builders made us feel that we were really cared for and the experience was perfect!

    MIRACLE METHOD
It looks fantastic. This is the 4th different company I've used to do tub/sink refinishing (over the course of a long span of time) and by far the best results. Miracle Method was the only service to have a two day process. Not only were they much more thorough, but the finish looks much better than I recall it ever looking - even the first time the tub & sink were reglazed.

    Dan the Handyman
We talked about the scope of work over the phone.  When he showed up, he was ready.  Our bathroom hot water knob hadn't been working for years.  Dan need to run get the part but was back in 20 minutes.  Replacing the part was easy.  Then on to the bathtub drain.  Yucky job.  It was done in 10 minutes, swishing water like new.  Last he recalked the bathtub by pulling out all the old calking before applying new stuff.  The bathtub looks perfect.
On a second trip, he did the second bathroom, then sealed windows and doors downstairs.  This is going to make a huge difference with the heating and air conditioning bills.

    Miracle Method
I had a very worn bathtub from the 1950s and Miracle Method was suggested to me by a contractor, and a local plumbing supply also had praise for them.  Frank was on time, professional and patiently answered my many questions.  On  the scheduled date for the relgazing, Enzi arrived punctually, carefully put plastic in the entire bathroom to protect it, and the finished product is beautiful.  I wonder why I didn't do it years ago?  The price may sound high ($585 for reglazing and $60 for repairs and recaulking), but as I always say "you get what you pay for",and I now have a beautifully restored bathtub which I know will last me many, many years.

    All American Coatings
Because I have a toddler in the house and am concerned about the cleaning agents and chemicals we bring into our home, I did extensive research when choosing a refinishing company. Here's where the various companies differ and why I chose All American:

    1) Materials. No matter what you hear, they are all serious chemicals that must withstand repeated contact with water. We are not talking low VOC here. All American uses Kott Koatings which has been around for more than 40 years. As far as these products go, this is the safest out there that I could find.
    2) Warranty- They vary between 2-5 yrs. All American gives a 5 year warranty.
    3) Ventilation: Some simply open a window and some use a fan with hoses sending the vapors out through the window.  All American used this system.

We were told by the 5 different companies we called that we could be in the house or at least return to our house after the work was done. I do not recommend this especially if you have children. We left the window open in our bathroom for 3 solid days and spent the first 2 night at a friend's house. People get used to the smell and don't recognize it's there, but since we stayed away and only returned to check in on our house we could smell it intensely. This will be the case with any company.Terry, the owner gave us a comfortable feeling and we would recommend him to others.

    Miracle Method
Miracle Method scheduled the estimate, the actual bathtub refinishing, and a return visit to suit my schedule and that of other contractors working on the house--painters, a flooring installer, a flooring refinisher, a general contractor doing handyman-type things. The workmanship on both the tub and the tile repair was excellent. I noticed only after bathing in the tub some weeks later that there was a rough spot in the finish; moreover I had accidentally dropped a towel rack in the tub, putting a ding in the finish. Miracle Method fixed both problems at no additional cost. All around, this company is a pleasure to work with. I will have them refinish another tub and sink soon.

    A & E BATHTUB REFINISHING
The good: A&E is very professional and friendly, on the phone and in person. The two-man crew was polite and neat. They didn't seem to be rushing, but finished in the time they promised. The not-so-good: A&E, vs. another service (now retired) that I've used, did a hasty job of prepping. They removed only the minimum hardware, choosing to tape around the drain trap -- a mistake in my opinion. They also did not pull the old caulking from around the tub. They should have stripped the old caulking, prepped the surface, painted and recaulked. That might sound picky, but painting over old caulking is asking for peeling in the future and just not a thorough job. Doing it right would have only added about a half hour to the process. Of course we couldn't touch the surface for about a day while it was drying, so we took a quick look before the guys left and closed the door to keep the smell out of the house. The smell is not terrible, by the way. Like mild spay paint. A day later, we checked it out more thoroughly, running our hands along the sides and bottom. It was then that I noticed they hadn't done the caulked areas correctly. Also we noticed that there was a small ridge, gathered paint, that had formed in the trough of the tub. We debated about whether to call them back but I decided to leave it be. It only amounted to a blemish and you could hardly see it. A few months later, the ridge had predictably began to wear and a small chip occurred. At this point, it's important to note that A&E's guarantee does not cover chipping but "peeling". I'll admit that there is a difference between a chip, which might occur from dropping an object onto the tub's surface, and a peel, which only occurs if the paint is not properly bonded to the surface, but, a small peel LOOKS like a chip at first. I anticipated an argument when we called them back but got none. They were, once again, very polite and prompt. The painters who visited next were a different crew. They took a look, sort of listened to our story and quickly agreed to fix it. They sanded out the ridge and chip, and did a local spray. Very fast. But if you've ever tried to feather paint, you'll know that the middle looked great but the edges that met the original job felt rough -- of course, again we did not know this for 24 hours because you can't actually touch the paint before it dries. I didn't call them back because technically they honored the warranty and it does look and feel better than the original job. I plan on trying to carefully use fine rubbing compound to blend the two jobs together better and then waxing the surface. I still highly recommend tub refinishing if you have an old tub and can't replace it. The improvement in looks and the ability to keep it cleaner are well worth the money.

    A & E BATHTUB REFINISHING
I had to reschedule my initial appointment with them because my plumber took longer than initially planned to work on the shower/tub. They were able to come out two days later,on a Saturday, no problem. We scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and Esteban showed up at 8:30. He was very friendly and professional. What took the longest was the masking off of fixtures, walls, ceiling and floors(even the ones immediately outside the bathroom). He then ran the exhaust hose to the front yard and warned me of the strong smell. He wasn't kidding. The smell is like being trapped in a room with 50 taggers. If you are at all sensitive, or have small children or pets inside, have someone else be there when you get this done. He finished, did a thorough cleanup, and gave me cleaning instructions. My tub and tile are now blinding white. All my fixtures were well protected and there was no overspray on anything. My son and I have been using it now for 3 days, and I'm having a hard time imagining how it could get dirty or even have mildew in the grout area (there is no grout, it's sealed in). The finish is that strong. Wonderful experience overall. I would use them again.
