More to follow. Full story to come. For now if you are looking for a pool shop elsewhere. Update: For nearly a year we had to endure a lack of communication, failure to perform on a timely basis, very poor workmanship, miss scheduled work days (without notice), extreme amounts of time between text, phone or emails (communication), food, litter and debris mess of workers and demands for money. The quality of pool we have received, VERY POOR! We had a promise date of 8 weeks, guarantee finish before July 4th 2017. Then when that got missed the 18th, then Aug, we got water around the end of Aug. with no electrical completed, pump not working. Then the electrician came out and strung a temp 220 wire across my yard, over my grass so the dogs and grand kids had to be careful not to trip on it over Labor Day weekend. I could go on for days about the poor workmanship, bad concrete work, color of tile wrong, out of shape curve of wall (I still have tile falling off today), the unprofessional finger pointing (about everybody but him and his crew) which was most of the problem, the mess left behind from workers. Oct. after not hearing from him for over a month they were removed from the job by letter. Job abandonement. Only then we had contact asking for money. (Only the second time we were asked during construction. First time paid immediately. Nov. we had a meeting to go over all the issues, yes many. Second chance. He never finished them, in December he was permanently removed from job as we are finishing the issues ourself's. I hired this company on the sole reputation of Bill Bell, Care Free Pools which had built my last pool without a hitch. Bill recommended Leighty Construction as the purchaser of his company. Lesson learned! As for the claim of hardest client ever, hahaha. Just another case of blame game. He's good at that. We had no issues with subs but they have a lot of issues with this company and they don't mind talking about it. I would not recommend this company to a sole and have told my story to several perspective customers. If I could make this a -5 stars it would fit.

My insurance paid $1500. for the fence.  John Hornbeck spent around $300. in materials and his 2 guys did a horrible job.  He purchased pecky cedar 1x6 boards  at Foothill lumber.  The peck was at the top of several boards.  I phoned him and he said that he had purchased the LAST that  Foothill had.  I asked about Home Depot  and he said, "Then I would have to drive down the hill".  I said, "Aren"t you a contractor?"  I asked how much the boards cost and he said $1.79 each.  I phoned Foothill and they said that they had plenty of that wood and it cost $1.29 per board.  I phoned John and asked why he had lied to me and told him to immediately replace the bad boards, TODAY!  He did.  There were 3 heavy lattice sections, also part of the fence that blew down in the storm.  1 was OK but 2 needed replaced.  He claimed that he could never find the thicker type.  Home Depot has always had them in stock.  John never finished the fence.  The gate is sagging and there are nails that go no where.  The railings are sagging, the fence isn't built level but follows the slope  of the ground.  I had to spend 10 hours sealing both sides with 1 coat of Duckback to get it through the winter.  I should have had Stratton do it  as he built a real wood fence for me at a different location but I had already hired Hornbeck to do the concrete so used him for both jobs.  The cement was a nightmare!  It snowed the night before and snow was melting & dripping onto the cement.  I didn't expect him due to the weather but when he pulled into the snowy driveway I yelled out to him and said not to pour today.  He yelled, "The Cement truck is on it's way!"  I should have said "That's your problem!"  The cement guy forgot the hot water and John had to babysit the concrete until very late that night.  There was concrete on everything!  I asked him why he didn't wait until the next day or two and why he didn't cancel since concrete is usually on "will calll".  He supposed called the cement co. and no one answered and he left a message that they didn't get. The cement looks terrible and is cracked.  Cement was all over my new Madera Carport (Madera replaced some panels at no charge to me and couldn't believe the bad job that Ridge did.  John forgot my water Channel so the rain wouldn't flood my patio so he took a knife and made a little slit for the rain that did nothing.  After months a nagging him to put in the channel that I paid for he saw cut one and used tons of some caulk on both sides which bubbled and sunk in places.

He had worked for me as a handyman and all had been okay. Then he got
his license. The shed leaked. He built it too low to the ground, and
there was splash back that went through the siding, even though the
siding had been painted with two coats of very good Kelly Moore paint.
There was no vapor barrier inside, so you could see the leaks all
around. I called him back several times and asked him to fix the
problem, but he was reluctant to do any more work. He said he'd do
whatever I wanted but I'm not a contractor and have no idea what he
needed to do. The last time he came over, he got very angry at me,
yelled at me, and walked out telling me the shed was fine. I took
photographs and filed a complaint with the state licensing board and
with his bonding company. The licensing board censured him and will pull his license if he has one more complaint. I got three estimates from others of how to fix the leaking. The bonding company
awarded me about $600 to install gutters (which will hopefully solve the
splash back problem), install 12-inches of flashing around the bottom, and caulk around all the trim (had never been caulked). Also, Jeff made a 10-foot landing for the shed, out of redwood, but he used nails instead of screws. He dumped the leftover concrete right in the garden path and I had to ask him to remove it (after it got hard). I
    will never call him again.

It went very well.  Jon Hornback is meticulous.  He arrived on time, worked hard all day and get the job done on schedule. We will always recommend Jon Hornback (Ridge Construction) fact we already have.  We really can't say too much about the beautiful work that he did.  When this project started we had a bit of rain.  Jon would call or just stop by to keep us informed onhow things were going regarding The Town's approval of the drawings or permits.  We give Jon Hornback owner of RidgeConstruction an A+!  We are extremely happy with our Roof/Deck Cover.
The roof was done by Ridge Roofing Co., owner Don Volenski.  He did a great job!  We would also recommend him and will use him in the future.
