Phil returned our call promptly, came to the house at the agreed time, and got right to work. He was very quick and did a high quality job at a reasonable price. All our electrical work will go to Phil from now on.

    Tugwell Roofing Co.
We were very pleased with the entire experience. Dan Hunter, Sales Manager, came to the house and did a very thorough inspection, from the ground and on the roof. He then walked me around the house pointing out issues, after which he showed me a narrated video he had taken on top of my roof, with his ipad, discussing its condition. I was impressed. Dan did an excellent job explaining the different products, the process and options. He gave me literature and brochures and a couple different proposals, with options, for me to consider. Once we settled on a proposal, Guy Walfoort, Project Manager, contacted me to set a start date and explained the project in detail. The various crews that came out to do their jobs, were polite and professional. They worked hard, seemed to know what they were doing and worked well together. The job site was cleaned up every day, before they left. Guy kept me informed as to what was going on during the job and any issues that came up. We are very happy with our new roof. Dan Hunter, Guy Walfoort, and Office Manager, Cassie Blake and the other Tugwell employees we interacted with, were professional, friendly and helpful. Tugwell wasn't the lowest bidder, but they were competitive and gave good value for our money. They did an excellent job on our roof and we highly recommend them for your roofing needs.

I have owned many homes and worked with many contractors and Rob of Sunrise roofing is one of the best I have worked with. He is honest, reliable, and good at what he does. When I asked for a quote to replace our roof he got back to me quickly with a clearly written statement of what they would do and for how much. Despite being in tremendous demand, he is very responsive to questions and very clear about their availability and the timing of when the work will be done. Most important to me, he does what he says he will do and when he says he will do it. In my case, I had to delay the work for a number of months and was pleasantly surprised that he was willing to honor his initial quote despite the delay and a significant increase in the demand for their services. I am also very grateful for the extra work they did repairing some problems that were found as part of an inspection. Many contractors would have used that work as an opportunity to increase their bid significantly but Rob and Sunrise did it as part of the job and refused to accept any additional payment; despite my offering to pay them extra multiple times. Finally, the roof looks great and Im very happy I hired Rob and Sunrise roofing to do the job.

    Tugwell Roofing Co.
I was very satisfied with Tugwell Roofing. Their office personnel and workers that showed up at the house were all friendly, knowledgeable and professional. A great company that we will be using again in the future when we replace our roof.

    Revolve Solar

In late 2015 Revolve Solar signed my parents up for solar for their home in Palo Cedro, CA.  It is important for you to know my parents are in their late 80s.  The company sold them a package promising to supply their home with the correct amount of solar to off-set their PG & E bill to zero monthly.  They are the experts and made the choices of what kind of system and where the system should be placed, etc.  Note my parents have 5 acres and there are several appropriate sites with unobstructed sun. And note my parents completely trusted them.

To begin, when they did the site work they did not clean up the construction site and left piles of concrete and miscellaneous debris around the site.  When my husband, a retired contractor, saw this he contacted them and asked them to come back and clean it up.  Later he wrote a letter to let them know how disgusted he was with their work.  They also dug trenches, digging up watering system piping in several places, breaking the pipe and covering them up without fixing them.  Later when we started watering water bubbled out of the ground in the trenches.  My husband spent days repairing the damages they left.

Now the best part!  We discovered the panels were placed too close to each other and one shaded the other!  Their solution:  they lowered one panel a bit and this did not help.  They still shade each other for a good part of the afternoon into the evening.  They also strongly advised us to cut down a large old growth tree that is important to our privacy from the road.   We did eventually prune it way back.  Cutting down trees and lowering panels was totally unnecessary if they had done their job correctly and professionally.

I became involved as my parents were not able to cope with the stress and disappointment.   I can suffice it to say after a couple of months of back and forth with them they had a big meeting and decided what to do.  We should cut down our trees and they would do nothing further to remedy their botched job.  I sent them a certified letter asking for them to do the right thing and make our system what they promised and they never responded.  Weve never heard from them again.

I would not recommend this company for anything!!!   They are the worst company and the most expensive company Ive ever dealt with.  $55,000 was spent on this system and it doesnt work properly.  Our last years NEM charges (difference between solar and power used from PGE) was approx.. $1,600 for the first year.

I hope this is helpful so that you are not cheated and tricked into believing you are getting something you will not get from Revolve Solar.

    Granite Transformations
I was so pleased with the workmaship! Even the sales rep was fantastic, even though there was some difficulty in deciding what route to go with. They advertise no demolition, and they actually come in and make a template of your dimensions and space. They then come back and bring a custom-made granite counter top that fits perfectly over the counter. It only took a couple hours, and it was just a wonderful experience. I inquired about after care, and they said it was covered by lifetime guarantee. I was happy for one year. Then I started noticing rough patches. I started looking at it close and I decided to contact them back. Upon their return, they said "Oh, you're just looking for problems." I assured them I'm not. It's now starting to pit in places. I even have a friend who has the same type of counter top who confirmed she had the same issues. They've been out several times to try and fix it, to no avail. Apparently the product itself is defective. They have offered me the option to put yet another counter top over the defective counter. I'm concerned about the foundation under the fixture. He then started offering deals for installing a new shower, or he can give me some sort of a refund. I still have no resolution and I'm not sure what I should do. They have come out several times and just can't get it right. Even after spotting them at a home show, and calling them out for failing to come out and get it done, they still have fed me nothing but lies. They just keep telling me that they "Want to make it right."

    R&D Construction
We contacted Rick Lemler, (the "R" in R & D Construction), when we ran into a serious problem during the sale process of our home. Unknown to us, a valuable barn/shop on our property had been constructed in 1982 without a permit. In order to save this building we had to have it engineered and brought up to current county code and state fire standards so that a proper permit could be issued. The option was to have the valuable building demolished and to lose the pending sale of the property. Rick Lemler has experience dealing with these sorts of problems and has a good relationship with the county personnel that needed to be satisfied in this complicated process. We chose R & D Construction for this project because of their good reputation and because of good reviews on Angie's List. We are glad we did. We were operating under the pressure of time due to the pending sale of the property. Rick moved quickly to get the process moving and stayed on top of every detail while keeping us fully informed every step of the way. The work was completed in the minimum practical time and the sale of our property went through on schedule. Rick earned our complete trust and we will gladly work with him again in the future should the need arise. Rick is very knowledgeable and his work is excellent and his rates are reasonable. We highly recommend R & D Construction.

    DF Painting
The owner, Doug Fountaine, was very professional.  However, due to lots of rain, much time elapsed between late November when Doug gave me the estimate and when the work was done in April.  Communication between Doug and his supervisor, Jerry, on what Doug had said he thought he could do to prepare this 36 year old cedar house for this staining was no longer fresh.  As I brought up each missed item, Jerry checked with Doug and competed the work to the best of his ability.  Some mistakes had been made by the previous company that could not be corrected.  I was impressed with the company's desire to do a great job.  I was especially impressed with the two young men who did the actual prep work, staining and painting of the trim.  They were very hard workers and appeared to do a very good job.
The house looks lovely, but now that a couple months have passed in this Redding area heat, I can see areas where the sprayed on stain did not penetrate as well as the brushed on stain put on last time.  They left quite a bit of stain with me, so I will have my handyman go over some of the areas - like the outside of porch posts that take a real beating from the weather - this fall when it is cooler.
Next time I will look for someone who will brush the stain on.   I did not ask Doug for a quote to do this and I do not know if they paint/roll stain on rather than spray.
