Fence Company reviews in Palo Alto

  • I would highly recommend Sadler Fence and Staining. We needed an old fence replaced in our backyard and received at least 6 quotes for the fencing job. One neighbor has new chain link and the other has new vinyl. Our old wooden back wall and side gate needed to be replaced. Mr. Sadler came out, asked me what I was looking for, gave me quotes for my different options and never made me feel pressured. He was honest and let me know his start date wouldn't be right away; any new jobs would be about a month and a half out (he actually called and was ready to start the job almost two weeks sooner!). The fence looks great and his customer service is amazing. He was there to answer any questions I had along the way. The fence went up as planned and they hauled away the old fence. I couldn't be happier with our choice to go with Sadler Fence and Stain. Great job and no nonsense! I would absolutely go with this company again.

  • We moved to the new home last year and our next door neighbor recommended her gardener Andrew to me when I need one. My front yard looks much better after installing the fence and the landscaping. Andrew is very nice to answer my questions when I have some problems with my gardening work (I'm new at gardening and need some professional suggestion). I also recommended Andrew to a friend and she is satisfied with Andrew's job too.

  • Good job. I called out five  contractors. This one and one other were tied for low bid. I chose this company because, Mike, the supervisor was very easy to work with. He was very responsive to me as the one to initiate the contact (although my neighbor tried to get a hold of him for more work and the neighbor said he didn't get a call back by the start of the job). I got calls and emails in advance of the job to confirm. Crew showed up on time. Demo'd old fence; saved as many plants as possible; and installed new fence in a couple of days. I approved the first days work (as the primary contact) but neighbor needed changes. Posts in and stringers installed. Next day the crew made the changes after a call to Mike the supervisor who called the crew (he was not on site) and told them to make the changes. Crew balked a bit at first but then they got in line and finished strong. Looks good. I have more work with a different even more challenging neighbor. I would call them out again.

  • Jordon Lopez came out and gave me a quote right away, which I accepted on the spot. Can't really say just how competitive his price was since we needed action quickly and other fence companies were giving me far off dates to even come to make an estimate.

Jordon dropped off the materials on couple of days later and did the job the next day with a total crew of 3. They worked fast and finished by early afternoon.  Used all quality materials with pressure treated posts and kickboards.  It was a board-on-board design and I was glad to see they put in a lot of fasteners. We were very satisfied with the results.

  • Wow.  An amazing experience with Kevin Delamore.  He was competitive on bidding the project, more than professional in the pre-sale process and his team was punctual and professional on the installation.  And, when there was some confusion on what some of the specs were, Kevin made it right.  A good test is how a contractor performs when things go right ... A great test of a contractor is what happens when there are issues.  Kevin was great!

  • The job went better than I could have imagined.
Scott understood the ?complete picture? of our ideas and
goals and was really a partner in the project.
Scott was available and responsive as-needed.  He even spent two Saturdays with me touring a
stone showroom and a nursery.   He produced lighting and planting plans as a
part of his included services, and has been endlessly patient with me as I
wrestle with the plants or material selection for each area of the yard, often
    settling on his original recommendation.
Scott is kind and understanding of circumstances, and easy to
    communicate with.
Fiscally, his bid prices are inclusive of all the little
details that I wouldn?t think of and even the unexpected details.  I was never charged extra for anything that I
was unaware of or disagreed with.  Scott
does NOT ?nickel-dime? you, which as the project unfolds and you see how much
work is involved, I REALLY appreciated on a daily basis.  We did have several pieces of the project
that weren?t in the original bid that were done on a time and materials basis,
which I think is a more expensive route, but fair overall.
    Scott?s workers are great.
Both in the work they do and their personalities and attitudes.  This turns out to be really important when
they are at your house every day for 3 months!
Eliobert, the foreman, was particularly remarkable.  He and his team worked every day from start
to finish of the project.  He is a
jack-of-all-trades, laying stone, installing lighting, welding, plumbing,
grading for drainage, detailed building/woodworking? and he did it all well.  I really am impressed how the same crew can do all the various jobs so well.  I am very critical of workmanship, too!  The few times that I questioned the quality of a job, they were either already working on improving/replacing/doing it over, or else happily obliged.  Eliobert was often knocking on the door
to ask me about each design decision?from exacting the curve of the planting
beds, to walking through the neighborhood to look at gate examples, to precise
placement of sprinkler heads, which I really valued.  I usually asked?and followed?his opinion; he
has a lot of experience and I really appreciated his input.  I hummed and hawed over each decision, but he
and his crew were endlessly patient.
There were several instances where they had to undo and redo
work that they had just done for one reason or another.  It was all such hard labor; moving the same
pile of dirt several times? taking up the bricks they had just laid? but the
crew maintained a positive attitude and didn?t even slow down.  I was thoroughly impressed daily.
I now have beautiful front and back yards.  Scott and Eliobert gently guided my decisions
along the way, and we are SO happy with the outcome.   I was incredulous of the bid amounts when we
    shopped our plans around, but now it is clear how much work is really involved;
Scott was very fair in pricing.  I will
continue to use Landscape Solutions for our outdoor needs in the future (they
can do pretty much anything!) and recommend them to neighbors and friends
    without hesitation.  This happens often,
as we receive complements from people walking by on almost a daily basis.
Having fully renovated our last 3 homes, and have thus
worked with countless tradesmen and work crews, I can say that Landscape
Solutions has been one of the best experiences all-around.  These are your guys!

  • I was extremely pleased with the entire process with Cuevas, from bidding to removal to installation.  Prompt, professional, and very competent.  Their bid was quite competitive and lower than the other bids we received given that we spec'ed con-heart rather than standard redwood throughout.  The removal and installation was a two-day process and went smoothly and efficiently.  We were particularly impressed with the skill and efficiency of the workers that removed our old fence and installed the new one.  They were fast, very pleasant, and clearly very good at what they do.  They were prompt, and worked very hard.  The materials are first rate.  On completion they did a very good job of cleaning the worksite.  All in all a first rate job.  I would definitely recommend Cuevas to anyone needing fence-work.

  • I had backed my car into the gate and the welds holding the opener were broken. They came out the same day we called for an estimate and fixed the gate the following day. They reinforced the gate and added a "stop" so the gate wouldn't open toward the front. I pointed out that the wrought iron fence they had installed two years ago had a few places where the paint was beginning to flake and they re-painted the fence while they were there. They were very professional and explained exactly what they were doing. We were very satisfied with the quality of the work, the customer service and the price.

  • Mike did the job in less than the estimated time, was here every day of the job on time, kept the work site clean, and minimized disruption.  The finished fence looks great.   He is very easy to talk to and accommodated our special request for a dog door in the fence very smoothly.  He was friendly to my dog, and he whistles and hums while he works.  I called him for this fence because he did my back fence about 6 years ago, and that construction has held up well.  I did not get multiple bids for this job since I knew his work and his bid seemed reasonable to both me and my neighbor, but for my prior fence, his was the lowest bid.

  • The job took three and one-half days, and went smoothly and efficiently.  The sales and estimating department worked with numerous changes by the neighors before the job began, with requests funneled through one neighbor acting as chief communicator.  The fence fabricators worked efficiently and skillfully, happily tolerating questions and requests from the customers.  We are totally thrilled with the end-product, and we highly recommend Cuevas Fence & Lumber.
