    Kaiser Permanente
I belong to Kaiser and I had a really good doctor. I am in Redwood City and he has moved up to San Mateo which is big more of a drive. I am probably going to get another doctor closer on. My doctor actually gave me recommendations for one in Redwood City. He is a very good doctor but he moved further north which is a better commute for him but I am sorry to lose him. I had a doctor who was willing to talk science with me and who doesn't mind being teased. I am very pleased with Kaiser. I think if more people had Kaiser they wouldn't be getting themselves in the snip about The Affordable Care Act. We have received very good medical care.  They really try to do good medical care and preventative medical care. They are very result oriented. They find out what is the best thing to do for a condition and they see that anybody who needs it, gets it. They won't do things that are not directly connected to your health, the fee for dermatology that does things to make you more beautiful, you don't get that as part of your insurance. They have their limits and that makes sense. They are not insuring people to make them beautiful, they are insuring people to keep them healthy and they do a good job of that. The availability is pretty good. The office environment is normal. You don't expect glamorous offices for somebody that provides this kind of medicine for basically everybody. It is not a doctor that you pay a lot of money to and you get deluxe care and those guys don't necessarily provide any better medicine, they just give you more gracious surroundings. They are okay with the billing and administration, you just pay one a month, you pay a little co-pay too actually. I will definitely continue to use them in the future.

I have found him to be one of the most responsive doctors I've ever had. He is available; He answers my emails and calls me. I have never had a physician like him before. I have been very pleased with his care so far.

I like going there because everyone is nice and friendly. I do not have to wait long. It is a big doctor's office; it is part of the hospital. If you call the main number, it is almost impossible to get through to make an appointment. I found another number and I was able to get right through and make an appointment.

They are excellent and they seem to have one of everything. I will see an optometrist next week. I saw a podiatrist yesterday and I had knee surgery with one of their surgeons. They are just tops all the way around. I couldn't recommend them more highly. It is a group scenario. I have the equivalent of a family physician and I call to say that I am a patient of Dr. Hansen and I need to see a podiatrist. He is not a podiatrist so they will transfer me to that department. I go to them for whatever my needs are. I probably hit them once a month for some darn thing.

They are pretty good. They are pretty standard. It is a pretty big facility so they basically have all the specialists that you would need for any kind of medical care. The office staff is professional. It's a big facility so you have to go through the automated phone lines, billing, and other stuff. It's not a personal interaction. If it is an emergency, they always make room for you. The office environment is fine.

They spend a lot of time. They are very friendly and its a nice office. Everything in the practice is computer based. We can check the results of our tests or lab works, online. I like their services and will use the same in future.

It is very convenient for us, it's not far from us, around 5-10 minutes. It's great in the sense that it's basically a full service operation. You have your pcp, but you also have specialist in any and every field. Anything we've ever had to do we go there as opposed to an outside physician. They have a relationship with Stanford Hospital with fortunately we haven't had to use much. They have a very convenient outpatient surgery center for minor surgeries, colonoscopy and that sort of thing. They seem to take the major health insurance companies, we haven't had any issue with our health insurance and the different ones we've had over the years. We've never had any problem that I remember in respect to billing. They seem to be a little bit slow in billing, some people might think that's a good thing, but I haven't had any problem with what they bill us. We've had instances where I'm getting notices from my insurance company and it takes them a while after that to send me a bill. There is a website I use and they call with reminders of appointments which I think is really helpful.

I have seen doctors with different specialties there like OBGYN, ophthalmology and primary care. I always have to wait for at least an hour or more regardless of what time of the day I have an appointment when I go in to see my ophthalmologist. It has happened every single time over the last 10 years. Its very disrespectful. The optometrist is always on time and I have to wait more than an hour for the ophthalmologist. I will not go back to that doctor again. My primary care physician is first grade and is terrific. In general, Palo Alto Medical Clinic is well run. The doctors are excellent. I have been using their services for a long time. I have actual relationships with the doctors and I have been very happy. You can also get an appointment very quickly. The office environment is pretty good. Its clean and nice. The punctuality depends on the doctor. They are mostly very good except for the ophthalmologist, but all the others are on time. Its just annoying because of just that one doctor. Most of the doctors see you within 5 minutes of the scheduled time which I regard as a very acceptable period. The staff friendliness varies. Some of the receptionists are not terrific. The bedside manner of the doctors is very good. The communication is variable and it depends on the doctor. My own family physician is wonderful. However, the doctor who did my foot surgery wasnt wonderful. He was a very poor communicator, but was a fine surgeon. So I wasnt very happy with his communication. I never knew what to expect and what I should be doing. The doctors with whom I have an ongoing relationship are excellent. I choose them because they are good communicators as well as good doctors. I have been happy with the treatment I have received there. I would use their services in the future too.

Its a fairly big practice. I can always get in whenever I need to. Even if my primary care physician cant see me they have enough doctors in the practice whom I can see. I have the option of waiting to see my physician or being seen immediately.
