  • It was great to see they were honest about my dryer. They actually said it was not worth it to spend a lot of money instead of getting another one because even a used one would be cheaper. I had an older one that they actually came back to instal for me. Would totally hire them again.

  • Dispatch called abt 1hr b4 appt said tech called out for funeral & reschedule 1wk later. Had 2 call main # & speak with sup who gave next day appt. One week later same problem with fridge & no appts avail for 1 week. Not happy & this is unacceptable.

  • The stove in our rental unit was not working, so we looked on Angie's List and found Jeff & Sons.  I spoke to David and scheduled an appointment.  David went out and found that the igniter was bad and gave us a price of $185 to fix it.  We agreed to his price. He also said his company offered a 5 year warranty. 

    Once the repair was complete David sent me an invoice.  However, the "5 year warranty" info was crossed out and 1 year was written in.  When I asked David why this was, he said he didn't realize it--that it was an old invoice from another job.  When I asked that he resend the invoice with correct 5 year warranty info., he said it wasn't necessary, and that the company would honor the 5 year warranty.  When I refused to pay him unless he resent corrected invoice., he accused me of not trusting him and being unfair.  Finally he agreed to resend invoice with 5 year warranty clearly stated.  After numerous delays (he couldn't get to a fax machine, he faxed it but I never got it, etc.)  I finally got the new invoice--it still had 5 year warranty crossed out and 1 year written in.  By this time, I decided to just pay him to avoid any more back-and-forth, thinking to myself, "at least the stove is fixed" so I thought. 

    My tenant later called me and said the stove had stopped working again.  I've called Jeff & Sons several times, left messages, etc.  Finally, I received a callback from David and we scheduled him to go back and repair the stove.  On the day of the appointment, not only did he not show, he didn't call to let anyone know.  After more phone calls, I finally got a text from him saying he had problems with his truck and his phone wasn't working. He asked me to retext the address info (that I had just texted him a few days ago) and he would reschedule.  Well, I sent the info and haven't heard back from him.  I also called both his cell and the office number, and no one answers.  And the stove still doesn't work. This is one of the worse experiences I've had with a business.

  • OMG, what a TERRIBLE, HORRIFYING experience.  On January 21, 2016 @ approximately 4-5 pm. I called Arrow Appliances to inform them that I had in fact found the original receipt to my dryer and had discovered that I in actuality had a 5 year Warranty on the Dryer, thereby informing them (Arrow Appliance Services), that their service would not be needed for the dryer on the following day.  
    Unfortunately, the following day, January 22, 2016, at approximately 2-3 pm, in my absence, the guy from Arrow Appliances came anyway.  One of my neighbors saw this really "Shady Looking" Character (What looked like a "THUG"), approaching my door and since I am a single mother, my neighbor, Jose, approached the man as to why he was at my home while I was gone.  The guy said that he was at my home to fix the dryer.  Jose mentioned that my dryer wasn't even in my home but actually in my back yard.  The guy went to open the back gate, while Jose called me on my cell phone and my dog, grabbed the "Thug looking guy," by the bottom of his pants, the guy was KICKING my dog and Jose told the guy, "No, she cancelled you guys last night, because she found out that she had a warranty on the dryer. 
    Jose said the guy was actually laughing and was quite friendly and said, "Oh, OK, no problem, I understand."  Jose asked him are you OK and the guy said, "I'm fine, the dog only got my pants leg." and the guy left.
    When I arrived home at about 4:00 pm, I called Arrow Appliances and called to speak to a supervisor.  I said, "I cancelled your worker yesterday evening and you sent him out anyway and I wasn't home, but when the guy went to go in my back yard my dog grabbed his pants leg." Although she did not identify herself, she (Whom I presumed to be some kind of supervisor), stated "Oh he is at the hospital right now, do you have Home Owners Insurance or Renters Insurance that we may sue"!!  I Immediately hung up and contacted my brother, whom is an attorney.  My brother said I did the right thing, but that trying to do the right thing, this company saw a financial opportunity, to try to SUCK ME DRY!!!  DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL FIND EVERY WAY POSSIBLE TO TRY TO GET EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT!!!  BEWARE!!

  • The MAIN PROBLEM NOW with B & D Appliance Repair Service that ,  I incurred, is I can never get a person to answer the phone, and am asked to leave a message,in which I promptly do so, but once again , I NEVER RECEIVED A RETURN CALL.
    Years later, to a near present date, on December 28, 2015, I called B & D Appliance repair. and as usual had to leave still another message. Although on this particular account, I specifically detailed my message, stating that on prior dates I was forced to call other repair services due to B & D Appliance Repair's unprofessional response time.   AS USUAL TO DATE, ( JANUARY 2, 2016), I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A RETURN CALL.
    I have now once again called another Repair service.

  • I have been fixing our dryer and in this instance, I guess I re-installed the drum and belt incorrectly and it didn't run. They were able to diagnose it fast and reinstalled the drum and belt properly.

  • On Sunday, in the middle of doing our weekly washing, my wife told me that our ~17 year old dryer had quit working. After viewing self-repair advice on the net, I removed our washer to the kitchen (not much space in our laundry room) disconnected the dryer and took the back off to check the thermal fuse with my multimeter. It tested as bad. I then investigated three big box on-line hardware stores for the part. All were difficult to navigate. All wanted about $14 plus shipping, where the time to deliver depended on the cost of the shipping. Then I remembered our neighbor in our previous house. I called B&D and described what I had done. They had the part. We met in a nearby parking lot. B&D not only tested the old part to confirm my diagnosis and sold me the new part, but also offered advice about opening the front of the dryer and removing the lint and dust from inside the bottom of the enclosure. That area was a mess and a potential fire hazard. I put it all back together and it worked fine. I felt pretty good about getting all that done so quickly and for only $15.
    Only problem was of my own making. After I reinstalled the washer and dryer, my wife turned the washer on to finish the job. About ten minutes later I heard her shrieking about a flood. It wasn't a leak: I had forgotten to put the drain hose back into the drain pipe.  A load of water ended up on our floor. Oh well.

  • Their ad stated that if you mention you've seen their ad on Angie's List, they would give you 10% off. I did mentioned it and the owner did not take the 10% off.

    Since he did not have the correct ignition switch he would have to order the switch and would have it in couple of days. Two weeks later I called him for a status and he forgot to order it.  Three days later they were back to install it and I was charged another $75.00 service fee.

    The million dollar question if I would use them again. Maybe, I would probity look for someone else.

  • Exactly one week after calling Arrow Appliance for refrigerator service, our washing machine began making horrible noises. Called them first thing Sat morning and, once again, to my surprise they were able to respond with a service call by afternoon. The same personable young technician, Brandon, diagnosed the problem quickly as a water pump failing. After ordering parts, he came out and installed it quickly on Aug 9th solving that problem (we were still able to use the machine during the interim). The price was $30 above his $160 estimate, but honestly, they did not know the cost of parts until later. The $35 service call was deducted from the repair.
    Very satisfied with the speed, knowledge and professionalism of their service.

  • Our refrigerator died Friday night, so I tried calling Arrow Appliance first thing Sat morning. To my amazement, they were open and able to dispatch a technician by afternoon. Brandon, a young, knowledgeable and friendly technician immediately found the problem... a failed compressor. He recognized the problem immediately as one brand of compressor that likes to fail early. This was bad news, but at least we knew where we stood.

    Either pay approximately $800 for repair or replace. We decided to visit Arrow Appliance an hour later and purchased a used fridge that was almost identical to our old one. It was delivered, up and running at home by 6pm Saturday! Now, we might not have gotten the best price on the used fridge, but at least solved our immediate problem very quickly. Arrow Appliance warranties their used fridges for six months. The used fridge does have a small issue with dripping water in the freezer during defrost cycles.

    This is not a show stopper and may have to get resolved in the future
    Overall, I am very satisfied with their service. The $35 service call was fully refunded with the purchase of a used fridge or repair if we had taken that step.
