General Contracting reviews in Palm Springs

    Whitton Home Improvement and Repair
    Matthew was very easy to work with in addition to being accessible and reliable. I had a design I wanted to use and he made the necessary changes to make sure it functioned properly. He and Jeff worked very hard to finish the job within the specified time frame. I plan to use him again for a number of projects. Stated price includes building materials.

    Pedrino Home Remodeling
    Terry and Billy Pedrino came to my condo in the early stages of a lengthy renovation.  They were on time for a early Saturday morning appointment and were very helpful and pleasant in providing me design ideas and options.  Terry provided me ongoing support through the special order process and was always quick to respond to my questions.   The special order windows and shutters took several weeks to be completed and as soon as they had arrived Terry scheduled the installation around my busy weekend schedule.  The installation was completed on time and in a very professional manner, I could not be happier with the outcome and my experience with the Pedrino Team.

    Bob Ramage Construction
    Bob and his helper Brad arrived promptly as proimised, and completed the installation in about 3 hours.  All work was done in a very professional manner and work area was left clean and neat.  We use Bob Ramage Construction on an ongoing basis for all construction-related jobs, whether large or small.  He has done remodeling of bathrooms, window installations, and many other kinds of work over the last several years.

    Bob and Brad did a fantastic job for us. They were punctual and everything went as planned. We plan on using them again in the near future on other projects we need done. They are very professional and prices very reasonable.

    Bob Ramage Construction
    Work was done in a prompt and professional manner. Mr. Ramage is most particular about being on time for work and completing the work in the time specified by him, barring unusual circumstances. He does complete bids and proposals with no surprises. Work area is maintained neatly and isolated if necessary. Any questions are answered promptly and completely. I highly recommend Bob Ramage Construction for any and all work that requires a licensed contractor.

    Sanzon Construction
    Contractor breached agreement:

    1) failing to devote time and resources to project and failing to meet contract completion date;
    2) failure to use basic standards of care and workmanship (one good example:  failure to sand tongue-and-groove and beam ceiling (wood) before priming and painting, resulting in bleed-through of dirt and leachate from unfinished roof and blistering and peeling of paint);
    3) failure to adhere to procure all necessary permits and to adhere to building and safety codes and standards resulting in post-inspection disciplinary actions by City of Palm Springs such as Stop Work orders and Double Fee penalties;
    4) misrepresenting, time after time, project timeline and completion dates;
    5) AND MOST EGREGIOUSLY, admitting to mingling/conversion of funds for use on another project, and inability to trace use of funds generally;
    6) procuring supplies from his supplier and claiming to need draw payment to pay for such supplies yet failing to do so and causing a lien of $5251.15 to be placed against my property.

    Contractor committed fraud, theft of funds and conversion of funds by lying and inducing reliance upon such lies to gain payments of funds from Owner, and by then converting these funds for use on another project, to which Contractor admitted verbally to having done on or around November 25, 2012.

    Requesting criminal investigation by District Attorney and City Attorney and filing complaint with California State Licensing Board.

    Bob Ramage Construction
    Bob Ramage Construction has done both major remodeling and minor repairs for me during the last several years.  On major work, clear and complete bids were submitted.  Questions are answered and resolved promptly and in a professional manner.   He is always on time and work area is isolated to keep any dust and dirt from spreading to adjacent areas of the house.  Mr. Ramage is extremely particular about the quality of his work.   Small projects receive the same memticulous attention as large ones.  His years of experience serve him well, and I give him the hightest recommendation possible as a licensed general contractor.

    The house was built in the late 1940s, but he was able to get the door to fit and installed in such a way as it looks seamless.  He and his team did an excellent job.On Thursday the general contractor told me that Jeff's team had to pay some overtime to complete the project.  He said he would stand by his quoted price, but wanted to know if I would pay the overtime amount.  Normally I would be suspicious, but they did show up early and stay late to complete the job in a single day.  Also, they did such a good job, I was happy to pay an additional $300.

    Lee Gahimer
    Before moving from anthother city, because of a forclosure, we deconstructed our closet-world closet and brought it with us to our new residence in Palm Springs. It was made from hundreds of pieces of painted  partical board.  I thought it would be easy for any carpenter to reconstruct it, but I was wrong, very wrong. In or new residence, an old 1940s home we storred all wood (partical board), screws and fixings for over 3 years.  Our master coset stayed unfinished and empty for over two years, and it was effecting our marriage.  The wife kept her clothes in containers all over the house as she patiently waited for a solution.  I eventually gutted the closet to make it easier for a carpenter to get started when we could afford one.  The closet materials would have to be be retrofitted into a smaller area closet. Luckly we found Lee Gahimer who has a lifetime of experience as a carpenter and handiman. Lee is over fifty years of age, drives a Harley, has some cool tatoos, and knows just about everything about working on a house. He knows how they are built and how to fix them.  He has his own truck, his own tools, and his own way of doing a job right.  Although it would have been a loot easier to actually buy new wood and have him create a new closet system for us, I insisted that he use the Closet-world materials.  The  materials were substandard to what Lee was used to, but he happily made a silk purse out of a sow's ear.  Take a look at the pictures! We are not rich, but Lee made it possible to hire him.  If you're lucky you may find a carpenter just like him, but I doubt it.
