    Family First Dental
We've had mixed experience with Family First Dental.  The work seems to be OK, but the communications and customer service was inferior.
The first problem in communication was pricing.  We had asked the cost of a dental implant, and was given a figure.  After we got partway into the process, we discovered that their fee did not include the $1200 we needed for a crown at a different dentist AFTER the implant was finished.  I've paid for plenty of implants over the years for my kids, and the cost was always inclusive of the crown.  They could have informed me that they only did one part of the work, but didn't.  That caused a lot of confusion, and it wasn't really fair pricing in my mind, but they never seemed to be apologetic about that.  I guess that's standard procedure for them, but I've never encountered that elsewhere.
The other problem was that we had asked if the implant could be done prior to our move to California, and they said Yes.  We didn't want to be caught having half the work done in one state, and then having to do the rest elsewhere.  Well, again, their work was done by the time of the move, but we had to find another dentist in California to finish it up.  After we moved and asked for them to send the post that was needed by the new dentist, they insisted we pay their bill before they'd ship the post.  I'm pretty sure that most dentists and doctors don't ask for payment until all the work is done.  The fact that they wouldn't send the materials until after they had payment was  (in my opinion) a poor choice on their part.  I hope they don't treat all their patients this way.  But our treatment was frankly, not very professional.

Desert Crossing Dental Group and Orthodontics
When I arrived for the appointment I started filling out the paperwork and came to an interesting document; it was a Full Release,
it said that during the course of my treatment they had full and unrestricted permission to take photographs and or videos of me at any time during the dentistry work without regard to whether I wanted to have them taken or not. In addition, It gave the dentist office full release and permission to use these photos or videos of me for any manor or purpose, including education and oversight. There were NO restrictions at all on who would be allowed to see them so conceivably my face and mouth could
be used by them (at no additional control or benefit to me) to sell ANY products or educate ANYONE at Any time.
This is a full and complete violations of our HIPPA rights!
I asked, nicely, not to sign this document and that I did not want to have any photos or videos or in anyway publicize my visit to the dentist, nor be used for training. Please. I asked the receptionist to honor the rights of the patient under HIPPA.
I was told that they did not want my business, or to work on me in anyway if I did not sign the release. When I said I could NOT sign such a blanket authorization removing my hard won rights, I was told (Very Rudely, I was shocked by how rude the receptionist was suddenly), to LEAVE! No procedure would be performed on me if I didn't sign their papers. I left. Wasted a whole morning with this ridiculousness..
So, I have not received treatment by this dental group to critique, my visit stopped before it began. To bad, I am a Great Dental Client. I pay instantly, in full, I take joy in taking care of my teeth.. just don't want them or me immortalized while I am getting it done..

    Steven R. Frimtzis D.M.D., Inc.
I moved to the desert a few years ago and finding a new dentist just wasn't the highest priority on my to do list. However, that changed last week when I bit into a chip that cracked a tooth. After checking my insurance for providers I went to Angie's list and matched up with Dr. Steven Frimtzis. First, let me say I don't generally take the time to write many reviews. Second, the reason for doing this one is to share with you all what a great experience I had.
I called on Monday and they got me scheduled for 9:00 am on Wednesday. To avoid needing to arrive early I went by that day and picked up their new patient forms and gave them my insurance information. I arrived at 9:02 and was welcomed by the receptionist who took my completed forms and said it would be just a minute. Well to my delight it was just a minute and I was in the chair by 9:04. I really like not having to wait! The nurse took me in, did digital x-rays and photos of my chipped tooth and before I knew it I was shaking hands with Dr. Frimtzis. He introduced himself and asked where I was from (in the desert, everyone is from somewhere else) and told me a little bit about himself. He had a son in my home state, when he moved here, and so on. Next down to business. After checking the rays and a first hand look he discussed my options with me and said the front desk would talk to me to see what I wanted to do. I was a bit uncertain what that meant until after about another minute when in walked a lady with a printed quote of what my insurance would pay and what was my out of pocket cost to fix my tooth. (this was very professional and made me fill really good that I knew what I was getting into before we started)
The fix we settled on was a porcelain overlay that would repair the crack while letting me keep over 70% on my healthy tooth intact. And the best part was that they had a 3-D image CAD program and a state-of-the-art machine that actually makes a perfect crown or in my case the overlay by shaping a color matched, 1/2" square block into the perfect jigsaw piece for my perfect puzzle. I got to see the whole process and felt like I was in a Star Trek episode. Total time start to finish 1 hour 40 minutes - Doctor Frimtzis a perfect 10 - supporting staff and nurses a 12 out of 10 - Best dentist appointment ever priceless!!!

    Baars, Dr. Hendrik
It's a small, personalized, caring, gentle touch.  They know you.  I like people that know you, I don't like to be a number somewhere.  Up to date on everything.  For me he's a USC grad which was important, I like that USC dental.  I know the quality of work is excellent.  Their professionalism and sterilization which is really important to me.

They are great.  They’re just very personal, attentive and timely.  I would recommend all of their staff and office.  I just think that they are efficient.  When I go there, I get my appointment within a reasonable time frame.  They do a nice job of getting the job done at the time that I need my work done.

    Loma Linda University Dental Center
My dentist wanted $10K for two implants. Had it done at Loma Linda for for less than $3. Of course, there's a trade-off. It took four times as long, not to mention I'm an hour away from Loma Linda. The work was slow because the student dentists had to have every step certified by an instructor. Oh, I was at the International School. There, all the students were licensed dentists in their home country.

They have everything there. They're very efficient, very prompt, all the staff seems very nice and confident, he's very good, has a great manner and I can tell it's a wall-run, polished office. It's well-staffed and one thing I can't stand is waiting and they don't make you do that.

    Dennis Wourms DDS
Dr. Dennis Wourms is a wonderful endodontist. He's so good I want to hug him. His staff is very nice and I told them they make a good team because they seem to work together really well. The surgery was a two-hour long surgery. He schedules his appointments where he has no long waiting time. He's so gentle. He'll tell you what he's doing.

    Karimyan, Dr. Armen
He is the nicest man and he goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. The entire office staff is very friendly. I was not going to be able to make one of my appointments and he was actually going to send someone to my house to pick me up. There is absolutely no pain during the service.
