    Pacific Construction & Design
Pacific Construction & Design recently renovated our house. We truly cant be happier to have had John as the main guy that handled our project! We had a fairly good amount of a time frame for the remodeling and from start to finish, John kept us informed on everything that was involved in the work and he made sure that everything will be as schedule with focusing on the budget. He was so on top of everything and alert while making sure that every task will be done in no less than perfect. All the working crew that did the actual work, were skilled and careful and generally great people. In addition to the above, John was so helpful before and during the work by providing us with great ideas and decisions during the remodeling. He always did what was best for us and the remodeling, never did any choice that benefited him or his company in any way. John was at the house each day from the beginning of the project till the end. It is clear that he cares about what he does and takes such pride in his project. We have a gorgeous new house because of him! Thank you, John!

    Select Pavers
They removed old walkway and hauled the broken concrete away! Installed a paving stone walkway, at the price quoted, never
tried to inflate the price! An excellent company, everything went smooth from beginning to end!!!

He responded quickly on the phone and to my message to him on Angie's list. He was very helpful in suggesting what to do in installing a retaining wall on a slope. He gave me a lot of tips and advise. I would totally trust him doing this job, and may use him for this job or others if he is available (and when I locate the funds). Thanks again for being helpful, friendly and knowledgable.

I found Frank Valle through Angie's List, and he had a very good rating.  He came over to give me an estimate, then was able to provide a very clear written work proposal.  There were several points we negotiated on in which he was very helpful such as types and quality of flagstones, methods for building the pathway.  All the work was done by his company, and they were prompt and courteous.  Whenever I had questions Frank was easily reachable, or returned my calls promptly.  All work was completed on the stated schedule, and he discussed extensively with me about ongoing care of the flagstones, and his recommendations for planting in the future.

Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape Inc
Very professional and responsive from start to finish. Sales person/designer Elton was very knowledgeable, super responsive over both email and telephone, and very engaged with the project from start through completion. Definitely made sure everything happened as planned.
Quote was 25%+ higher than others, but more inclusive, generally more professional-feeling.
Work done at a very high level - required some engagement and feedback throughout, but Elton and crew were quick to adjust and make everything right. Roger (owner) checked in, offered to do substantial rework if something didn't turn out right (but it did).
Definitely plan to work with again. Have a pending quote for an outdoor kitchen build - granite top, BBQ/refrigerator, with gas/electric and foundation.

Sanem Surel and Dave Garcia met with me a few times. They were so patient with the changes I made and questions I asked. I didn't really know what I wanted except I wanted that old wood deck out of here! It was more expensive than I thought it would be that I actually brought in System Pavers in the middle because of their advertising thinking it would be cheaper. The designer that came in was great, but wouldn't do a real rendering like Sanem and Dave did for me. System Pavers is also into a real hard sell and HCGC is NOT! I was getting so much pressure and he kept telling me about the "deal" that was ending today. Finally he worked it out so I got a little less than I wanted (no seat wall!) for the same price as HCGC but more lighting and a couple other cool things and I had to make up my mind right that minute but he said I had 3 days to change my mind. So I signed and gave them a deposit. I figured I could really think about it and compare and change my mind if I needed. Well after comparing what I was getting with HCGC and System Pavers HCGC won out because actually I was getting more of what I really wanted (seat walls!), plus they were just so much easier to deal with and so likeable! I emailed and called on the second day of the 3-day decide not to for SP and canceled. Well, wouldn't you know it, System Pavers charged my credit card for the deposit on the second day. The 3rd day the sales person tried to convince me to change my mind -- I said I would think about it (I was on an airplane and the door was closing). I called him back as soon as I landed and told him no again. I have yet to get a refund. Anyway. Go with HCGC not System Pavers if you want a good experience, no pressure and quality work!
The sale and design portion was no stress and no pressure. Sanem and Dave both spent a lot of time and were good to deal with. They showed pictures and Dave brought out sample pavers and Sanem brought out more of a different kind for the seat toppers. The workers were efficient and cleaned up after themselves. Moraes, the lead paver guy, was a delight. He and his helper were having such a good time doing their job -- they were fast and laughed a lot. I never once caught them goofing off. They cleaned up after themselves and were careful to keep enough space in my driveway so I could park my car (pavers had to be stored there while they were doing the job). Dave inspected about half way through and didn't like the way the step to the front door looked so Moraes did it again -- no grumbling, just went about his business. After all the lights were installed and they were about done, I mentioned another light by the step by the gate would be nice and the next day there it was! I even mentioned to Dave that the jade plant I had growing in one of the planters that was going to be hauled away looked like it was doing well and I should get out there and repot it before they hauled it off. I never did repot the darn thing. But one evening I came home, everything was hauled away and there on the side was my jade plant repotted in a big pot that I was going to toss -- the plant looks great in it! Be careful what you ask for -- you'll get it (in a good way!) Like I said, great experience! Beautiful work. LOVE IT!! It's too bad I don't have another project for them.

Nato has been my servicing my landscape for the past several years. Recently I asked him to put a French drain on my hillside. The drain extends a length of approximately fifty feet at a depth of four feet. Because there is no access for small machinery, every thing had to be done by had and removed my man power alone. After all the dirt was removed and the correct piping put in with cloth the ditch was filled with quality drain rock. This also had to all be brought in by man power alone on a hill. Very hard work that was done quickly and efficiently. The whole job took about three days. I think you would be very happy with Nato's team of workers and their performance on your drains or landscaping projects.

It was great. Nato and his crew are the best. Nato came to give a free estimate, talked to me about what I wanted, really listened to me, and then came up with a great plan at a very fair price. His crew started right away, and we were completely thrilled with the work, from the design of what they did to the installation of the plants and the cleanup. Every day on the job, the site was very nicely cleaned up. They were always on time (or early!) and Nato was very flexible with changing the plans and also the schedule when I wasn't able to be around as much as I thought. I highly recommend Zarco Landscaping -- it was the best experience I've ever had hiring a contractor.

Job was initially started with promising results (i.e. excavation/hauling flagstones etc. - day laborer stuff). Then, workers stopped showing up, sometimes for more than 3 weeks with no explanation! Repeated phone calls and finally threatening letter that we would rescind contract with them, still with very sluggish response and lame excuse after another. Completion date a joke as project completed over 2 months past promised date. Contractor left out numerous things on initially proposed contract. Not responsive to owner's preferences and desired vision. Most of workers speak very limited English and the boss, Martin, rarely on job site, so you can't communicate with them, unless you are there monitoring the job all day. The final work is average to low quality in my assessment. Job site after water and electrical placement was littered with cut plastic, cigarette butts, and debris which they never cleaned up. Would never have picked these guys if I knew what I know now.

Although there was a lot of rain delay, Vlasto and his team worked hard to get the job as quickly as possible. Work was slow but it was very good.
