    Roman Upholstery
I met the wonderful people at this workshop because my mother's interior designer used Roman Upholstery in our family home, and that was many years ago when Art was running the show. Art, his son, Steve and this workroom have done work for me, and for my design clients for about 25 years and they are Top Notch! Steve is carrying on the family business since Art passed away and doing so with the great skills he learned under his dad's tutelage. Excellent customer service and great at helping to resolve any issues that may arise! They take great pride in their work & in making their clients very pleased! I could go on and on. The best!

    BENNY'S PIANO MOVERS
These guys were real professionals, had all the right equipment and years of experience moving pianos. They were courteous, on time and took great care to protect the piano and the room surfaces. The move went perfectly. I would definitely hire them again.

    Joe's & J Upholstery Shop
They were superb!   Their prices were extremely reasonable, especially in light of how precise their work was.  The slipcovers, in particular, were a challenge because the fabric had a tricky pattern to match on the wide arms, the cushions, and the skirt and yet it is perfectly executed.  For both jobs, they delivered the pieces back to my house earlier than they had promised.  There are two phone numbers for their business, but both are the brothers' cell phone numbers so don't be put off by their phone manner  -- they answer the phone with "Hello" rather than with their business name.  I felt like I was taking a big gamble when I called them to reupholster my banquette -- the fabric was Sunbrella and therefore not cheap -- but I was thrilled with the work they did.  And they are nice men too.

    Excalibur Restorations
From the first time I spoke with Avi, he was friendly, helpful and professional. He suggested that I bring the bench to his workshop, so that I would not incur the extra cost of pick-up and delivery. He had asked me to text him a picture of the bench, so he knew it would easily fit in my car.

My husband and I brought a small side table as a sample of the color stain we wanted for the bench. He asked us not to leave the side table with him for fear of it being damaged in his workspace. We discussed the color and agreed upon a time frame, which was very reasonable for the work requested.

Avi called when the bench was ready to be picked up and we were excited to see the final product. When we arrived, Avi brought out the bench, and we were not all that happy with what we saw. In his effort to retain the look of the grain in the wood, he had made the color rather light, compared to the color we had tried to convey.

We told him we were rather disappointed, and without hesitation, he told us to leave the bench, and without any extra cost to us, he would refinish the wood in the darker color we had requested.

He was a man of honor, and true to his word we picked up the bench a short time later, happy to see the work done beautifully and exactly to our liking.

We would definitely use Avi for any future furniture jobs we might have. He is a man to be trusted and is totally dedicated to serving his customers and making them happy.

    Sears Appliance Repair
I called them when it became necessary. They told me they could not come out for 18 days. I needed this fixed right away. I had to call someone to come and fix this for me and it ended up costing me $333.

    RALPH'S INTERIORS
I had used these folks about 8 years ago, then used someone else to reupholster a couch, because of price.  Such a mistake- I should have stuck with Ralph's!  You get what you  pay for- these folks may not be the cheapest, but you can be assured that the work will always be top quality, no cutting corners- fabric is pre-washed for slipcovers, fabric matching is perfect.  Their estimates are accurate.  quick delivery, reasonably priced delivery.  Sherry is so experienced and knowledgable; you're in good hands.

He did not do a bad job restoring my table. However, his attitude was horrible. He over charged. He gave me an estimate on another piece of furniture that was outrageous. I was not pleased with his service. I would never use him again.

    Nexxus Remodeling Inc
I bought a new house and needed a general contractor for the remodel.  Tony had previously given me an estimate for remodeling work on a condominium I owned, but I simply never got around to tackling the project.  When it came time for the home remodel, I remembered his can-do attitude and hired him for the job without hesitation.  The day after escrow closed on the new house, Tony was there with his crew, assessing the work that needed to be done.   His team arrived on-time every day, was courteous, hard-working, and skilled.  Tony understood my time constraints and worked hard to make the renovations go smoothly...until a sewer line cracked in a second floor toilet, flooding two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two hallways.  I'll never forget the traumatic moment I saw the 15 foot hole created in my family room ceiling to gain access to the offending plumbing.  Tony and his team worked with my insurance company's demolition team to find the problem, gut the involved areas, and dry the structure.  Tony met with the insurance adjuster, made himself fully available to answer any questions that arose, and began putting my house back together moments after the adjuster left the property.  The water damage increased the scope of the project significantly, along with the time course for the work, tacking an additional 8 weeks on to the job.  In an effort to allow me to move in as soon as possible, Tony's team worked seven days a week for at least a month.  After I moved in, they continued to work around me, making every effort to keep the house as clean as possible after they finished for the day.  I'm the first to admit that I'm a perfectionist.  Tony made certain that every last detail was just right, that I was satisfied, and that any errors we came across were corrected.  He accommodated my difficult work schedule and made sure members of his team were available whenever I was able to meet with them for walk-throughs.  The project was challenging from start to finish, but Tony took it on and was never daunted.  I still have windows that need replacing and a master bathroom and kitchen that will need remodeling in the future.  There is no question in my mind that Tony will have the job.  You simply won't find a more attentive, available, hands-on contractor.  Tony takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows.

They changed owners and fired my rep so they could hire a family member.  The job did get finished and very well, but my sles rep did the coordination, not A-1.  A-1's flooring team did the work on my floor and they did a very good job.

    Rene Guzman Studio
Based on photos emailed to him, Rene provided a telephone estimate of $150, "maybe less," to repair an armoire.  There was no discussion of a charge for travel time as the work was done on the same day that Rene and Gerson returned to follow-up on the repair of a rocking chair.  Rene re-glued the scroll work on the crown as well as a couple small pieces elsewhere.  The work took approximately 1/2 hour.  Without being asked, Rene also cleaned the top of the armoire where I couldn't reach, as well as the black scroll work decoration.  He explained that a small amount of white glue under the crown would dry colorless but after he left I realized there is no glue visible anywhere else (loving hands decades ago attended to that kind of detail) and picked out the glue myself.  I had offered to return any clamps that needed to be used and Rene said he had used a clamp but I think the clamp was removed too soon.  I had to press on the crown piece for a while after removing the excess glue.  The small section at the top of the bracket-shaped smaller pieces that were re-glued is slightly crooked.  (I'm an artist, I see things.  No one would notice this but me so no big deal.)  I also had to clean up a couple small patches on the oak floor that appeared to be glue that had been partially wiped up (clue:  water doesn't work, alcohol doesn't work, Mop n' Glow did the trick).  Note:  Stay in the room and watch.  I didn't want to be intrusive.  Had I stayed, I could have addressed these minor issues.  Dumb.  Ultimately, I'm delighted to see this armoire looking good again and appreciate Rene's responsiveness.
