Carpet Installation reviews in Pacific Palisades

Knowledgeable and patient advice from Ron. Installers seemed professional, but apparently they improperly installed the pads and/or carpet on our stairs. It started wearing much more quickly than it should have.. Ron came out and said the installers had not done the job correctly and that he would look into it. We were past the warranty period, and we never heard back. We are definitely dissatisfied with the lack of follow-up.

My experience with Royal Oak Hardwood Floor Co. was excellent.  Beau Pillar, the owner, came to our residence and gave me a concise summary of the work that needed to be done, the price and the timeframe and sequence of the work to be done.  His work crew of foreman Eddie and his assistants Chris and Abel were great.  The delivery of the hardwood flooring, moldings, cork and glue along with all their equipment and tools was well synchronized.   It was very evident that they knew exactly what needed to be done and how to do it.  They all spoke English and were hard workers and professionally performed all their work with care including moving our furniture around and cleaning up after each day's work.  All the little details that make the difference in the result were done well.  I am extremely pleased with the new hardwood flooring.

Marbella  was friendly and swift in finding styles I liked because she was a good listener.  She discussed the pros and cons of different types of carpet based on my needs. It was an impressively swift process from my first foray into their showroom until the delivery of my rug.  My rug required a cut-out on one of the corners to fit around a built-in cabinet and I provided the measurements and diagram instead of having them cut out to measure.  The rug matched the measurements perfectly.

Not so well, and certainly not like the last time.  We had the same work done in 2013.  That work went well, so I thought I would return to the same provider.  Last time, the cleaners showed up as a group of two-guys with a van specially equipped with a particularly strong vacuum and water system to clean the carpets.  A two-layer hose-within-a-hose system connected the cleaning wand to the truck, which protected against water damage to the wood floors elsewhere in the house, and reduced the chance of damage to the walls as they worked through the house.  This time, one-guy showed up in a pickup, with a portable cleaning unit that had to be dragged through the house and up and down the stairs. The suction of the unit was not as strong as the other system, leaving the cleaned carpet unusually wet.  It will take much longer for the carpet to dry out.  Fortunately, there was only one mark on the paint left by the movement of the portable unit, which my wife was able to fix with cleaning materials.
Because there was only one man on the "cleaning team", I felt compelled to help move some of the larger objects out of the rooms to facilitate the cleaning.  Before the actual cleaning began, and despite having previously negotiated the price when I placed the order, the cleaner began negotiating for an additional amount of money for the work .  Although these negotiations were courteous, I was annoyed at having to renegotiate at that point in the process.  Fortunately,  I had retained the prior year's work order, and showed that the scope of work had not changed.  After a call to the office, the work was authorized, and cleaning began at the previously determined price.  Although the work was completed on time, it will be difficult to determine how well the job was done until the carpet dries out sometime later this week --- or next!  The portable unit simply doesn't appear to have the suction power of the truck-based system.
When next we need carpet cleaning, I'm unlikely to use Quality Carpet Cleaning, but if it do, I will certainly make sure our agreement clearly states in the work order that a truck-based, 2-man cleaning team is to be used (not a one-man team with a portable cleaning unit).

They were prompt and friendly, but the result was extremely disappointing.  The floors squeak loudly!  They took no responsibility and haven't offered to correct the problems.  They apparently knew they had botched the job, because they used the credit card number I'd used to pay the deposit and charged me in full without any authorization from me, presumably so that I could not withhold full payment until the job was completed properly.  Their website talks about satisfaction. Don't be fooled!

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish with this company. The salesperson, Jani, was attentive and helpful. He came to measure our home the same day we visited the store, and within 10 days we had beautiful carpets in 3 rooms. They cleaned up after themselves and were very careful with our newly painted walls. I would use them again any time.

We were hesitant to go through packing our "stuff" so kept postponing the installation.  But with the Barry Carpet salesperson, Ron Roth, advising us, we finally did it and found that things went much more smoothly than we'd anticipated.  The installers were very good.  One of our larger closets had not been included in the estimate for ordering carpet, but luckily we were able to use the old carpet there.  That was the only problem other than some damaged baseboards, presumably a normal outcome.

We dealt with Jim. He was very professional and very helpful. Since carpet is an expensive undertaking, most of the effort seems to take place in choosing the product. Once we have settled on a product and padding and negotiated a price, everything went very smoothly. The workmen were very professional and resolved everyIssue with the installation. I would definitely use them again.

Ron helped me with carpet selection and came and measured my rooms. He was a pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable, informative and great to talk with. The installers were extremely professional. They arrived right on time. They did a beautiful job, and cleaned everything up. I am so happy with my carpet and the installation. And the price was very reasonable.

Happily, we were not living in the house when all the work was done. However, if we had been, I know Andy and his crew would have worked around us. Their work is of the highest quality and if anything isn't just right, they make it right. Very responsive and Andy had excellent suggestions for ways to achieve what we were looking for.
They are not the least expensive folks in town, therefore the B on cost, but we certainly got excellent value for what we paid.
