Montessori Home School is a private preschool, kindergarten and elementary offering an academic, Montessori education in a safe, nurturing, home. At Montessori Home School we have designed a program for anyone between the ages 18 months -- 12 years who seek a peaceful, challenging and inspiring place of education. We offer a full-day year round school experience. Our school program runs from August through July. We offer a Montessori based program incorporated within an academic structure to prepare students with skills necessary for the formal school system. Our school readiness program focuses on preschool and kindergarten, and elementary preparing children both socially and academically. Parents are encouraged to attend planned Parent/Teacher conferences in November, March, and July to stay informed and involved in each child's development and mastery of skills. We are a School where self-reliance and choice are consistently fostered through purposeful work. Montessori Home School offers much more for children than simply daycare. We provide a stimulating learning environment, appropriate for curious and growing students. The Montessori Method of teaching offers children a chance to become enchanted with the love of learning by exploring the carefully prepared environment. Parents should understand that a Montessori school is neither a baby-sitting service nor a play school that prepares a child for traditional kindergarten. Rather, it is a unique cycle of learning designed to take advantage of the child's sensitive years between eighteen months and eight years old, when he can absorb information from an enriched environment. A child who acquires the basic skills of reading and arithmetic in this natural way has the advantage of beginning his education without drudgery, boredom or discouragement. By pursuing his individual interests in a Montessori classroom, he gains an early enthusiasm for learning, which is the key to his becoming a truly educated person. "What are the differences between Montessori and other more traditional schools". The Montessori Method was designed to educate the whole child. No aspect of development is more important than others; Montessori teachers follow the lead of the child and are careful observers of a child's sensitive periods, thus guiding them to nurture a certain aspect of development when they are ready.
