I had a 35 year old pool totally remodeled, including all new plumbing, electrical, plaster ( New plaster product called Wet Edge ), all new equipment / heater, pumps, etc. I recommend Alan Smith as a contractor with great integrity, and I'm sure you will be happy if you select Alan Smith as your contractor.

    Jeff is the nicest guy. He went above and beyond to fix my spa. The first part that was shipped was broken so he had to come back again. He had no problem with coming back to my home to change the part and make sure it was working correctly. I would hire Jeff again in a heart beat if I needed him

    I'm very happy to have found Jeff and his team on Angie's List! They completed the work in a timely manner and everything works great. Jeff was also extremely friendly, honest and helpful. Since I'm a new pool owner, he walked me through the pump and filtration system, and gave me good advice for maintaining the chemicals in the pool. He even saved me some money on service fees by pointing out what exactly was covered in the home warranty (new home purchase) and what wasn't. Jeff & Diana's will be my first call next time I need work done on the pool.

    DO NOT USE ORANGE PARK POOL SUPPLY! We recently purchased a new home and as part of the process asked the previous owners to get a bid on a number of issues with the backyard pool, especially that the control panel in the home was not turning on the pool heater and the safety fence around the pool was not up to code with our licensing requirements. We looked at the bid, confirmed with them that the suggested panel replacement would resolve the heating issue and that the fence on the bid would meet our requirements and would be properly installed, and decided to approve the work. That was a huge mistake. To their credit they installed new pool light, a suction cleaner, and replaced some drain covers, all of which function. So the three smallest items on the bid they managed to accomplish. The new wireless control panel however does not turn on the pool heater. It does not turn on the pool lights. They ordered and delivered the wrong pool fence. They then returned that fence and delivered a new fence which 1) does not fit our space and drill holes without significant alteration, and 2) refused to adjust the fence to match the space and to install it. For two months we have been trying to get them to deliver us the safe, heated pool they said their repairs would deliver. Instead we have a new control system which does less than the old panel and a fence sitting in our backyard which does not fit and which they refuse to install. And when we call to ask them to address those issues, the owner called my wife a liar and told her they never said they would install the fence and that it was not their responsibility to deliver a fence that would fit the space, that we should just take what they delivered us and make it work ourselves. I am sure that if they care enough about customer satisfaction to even read online reviews, they will come on here and repeat that they never said they would set up the fence. In other words, I fully expect them to come on here and call us liars again. That is what seems to count as customer service to them. We would never have approved the bid without fence installation. If they had not told us that they would set up the fence, they never would have gotten our business. But now that they have our money, they have zero interest in completing the work or making sure we are happy with our service or pool. We also signed up for weekly pool maintenance and since the pool was too cold to use we monitored it to see if they were coming and the same palm fronds sat in the bottom of our pool for over two weeks. Their maintenance service is apparently just dump chemicals in and leave. No matter how low their bid is, it is not worth your time and energy dealing with this business.

    This is the first time I've ever left an Angie's list review, but our experience with Angel's pools was the best experience we've ever had with a contractor. Responsiveness, quality, competitive pricing, and most appreciated was everything was on time. From our first contact with Edward, the estimator....to the final punch list, we always felt listened to. We replaced our old plaster with Stone Scapes, new lights, new tile, gunnite repairs, new energy efficient pump. The crews showed up on time when they said they would. There were not big surprises. Our neighbors were so impressed they use Angel's to re-do their pool also.

    GOLDEN STATE LEAK DETECTION
    I called Golden State and left a message. They got back to me almost immediately and scheduled the service for the next day. They arrived on time and found the leak quickly and repaired it. The next day I discovered the pool was still losing water, but not as much, and called them back. Once again they responded promptly and found another leak which they also repaired at no extra charge. I was very happy with the service.

    Complete Pool Services
    I called Leak Finders after my contractor hired two other companies who were not able to find leaks in our pool/jacuzzi. Leak Finders had great reviews, rightfully so and was the bases for my call. My appointment was made and when Mike was running late, I was well informed beforehand. He was able to find the leak by actually getting in the water and pin pointed that it was in the lights. He had me monitor the water level several days later and only when I was satisfied that the leak was found was I billed for his service. I'm so glad I took the matter into my own hands and called Leak Finders. I would definitely make referral to them.

    I could not recommend them high enough.  They were all very professional from the original very realistic and practical quote from Eduardo Plascencia, to Jose Cruz who was constantly on top of the project communicating on the phone and in person with his employees to Julie in the office handling a variety of things behind the scene and on the phone with us.  They were all very nice and gracious people to work with and all took ownership of our particular project.  
    The demolition, the three major modifications of construction to the final coping, tile and Hydrazo installation on the pool and spa sides and floor never stopped.  I felt like Jose Cruz's supervision was always taking consideration of my position as the customer in keeping it flowing smoothly and efficiently.  Jose was always available quickly by text or a phone call.  I never asked him a question that he did not have an immediate logical answer for that obviously was drawn from his years of experience in the pool business.  Every employee at one time or another mentioned to me that their highest goal was always that the customer would be happy and satisfied with the progress and the final completion.  I will happily verify that they all consistently lived that motto in their daily actions. 
    Every day, the site in our back yard was swept clean and all the materials and tools were stacked and stored neatly.  It always looked so organized.  There were never any food containers, plastic bags, drinks or half filled coffee cups or odds and ends of trash floating around the construction sight.  Anything that would be a potential hazard for us as owners walking around in the evening hours was red taped and made very visible to be avoided.
    The employees were very polite, friendly and professional regardless of their position on the job site.  Any time there was a surprise in the project, I was immediately called and consulted as to my choices.
    We especially appreciated their flexibility to add a feature, adjust a dimension or change an option right in the middle of the process.  It was always appreciably accepted and never considered an inconvenience.
    There were a couple of small start up items that did not work as planned after it was put back in service and with a text to Jose, a technician was there in the morning and fixed it immediately.   For all they did, we were amazed at how efficiently the job ran, what an absolutely beautiful end product we have to enjoy with our family and friends and what a satisfying view we experience every time we look out our family room and kitchen windows.
    Their pricing was very competitive and the extras we added were very fair in cost.
    I would absolutely use them again and would not hesitate to recommend them to my best of friends.

    Alan Smith Pool Plastering & Remodeling
    The contract was quoted and defined at 7 weeks with a completion date of June 20th 2015.  Today it is July 22nd and the pool is left incomplete.  As an owner of several business, I understand 'setbacks.'  But to have lack of response, 19 total days of inactivity on my project, tasks not met or followed up as stated by someone titled a Project Manager, and for management not to follow up with a customer as requested is beyond unacceptable.
    I am satisfied with the quality of the coping, decking, and plastering at this point.  I am disappointed in the lack of professionalism for the amount of money I invested into this project.  My first Project Manager was removed in week #1 for not returning calls, advising of status, etc.  The 2nd one is even worse.  He has not hit a date, followed up with a status, etc.  I have had to repeatedly voice my frsutration and follow up like I am *&%^ Project Manager and Alan Smith is my customer.
     Three weeks ago I asked for management to return my call to discuss the poor service and did not receive a call back.  I was only told that "Managers were in meetings."  At this point, I am seeking another company to finish the job and pursuing legal actions and communications with BBB.  Yelp will also reflect my feelings about this company's service and naming the individuals directly.
