I and my next door neighbor accepted a bid form Juan to build a block wall to separate our properties. We signed a contract on July 4th of this year, and were told by Juan that he would not be able to start the wall until September 9th. We accepted this start date. I attempted to contact Juan several times by phone in early August, leaving voice messages that I wanted him to contact me regarding a change in scope to the bid as I needed a footing to be deeper than anticipated to accommodate a grading of my yard. Three messages, no response. I emailed Juan on 8/21 and said I had left several messages for him to contact me. He replied to this email that he was on vacation and would not be back until Sunday the 25th of August and could he call me then. My reply was "sure". I didn't hear from Juan on Sunday. I didn't hear from him until I had sent two more emails asking him to contact me. Juan finally contacted me today, 9/4 that we had not accepted the proposal for the wall within the 31 day period acceptance. Both my neighbor and I signed and sent the acceptance to Juan. What we did not send was the 10% deposit on the bid (which, by the way, was more than legally allowed as the bid was over $10,000). This was an oversight on my and my neighbor's part. Juan not receiving the deposit was his reasoning for cancelling the contract. My neighbor and I have been waiting for two months for this project to start, and Juan, if he were intending to do the job, certainly could have contacted us for the deposit. Instead, I am left looking at the last minute for another contractor to build this block wall, having wasted 2 months of time. Totally unprofessional. Juan underbid the job and did not want to honor his end of the contract. If I am in the wrong here, please leave comments to this post.

    Around The Castle
We have a home built in 1928 and the mortar between the bricks has been deteriorating along with water seeping in under the foundation of the office by the brick wall. Ryan came in and fixed the leakage problem along with bringing our brick work back to beautiful condition.

    Around The Castle
I was extremely pleased with the work of Around the Castle. They did a beautiful, quick, and affordable job on my backyard pool and fencing. I would definitely recommend their services and use them in the future for any work I needed done. Thanks again!

Nick is a great designer, specializing in hard and softscape, water features, custom masonry, California and drought-resistant landscaping. He has a solid and experienced team behind him. From permits to porta-potties, everything was done by the books and professionally. Vicente, Miguel and the others showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves daily. They did a fantastic job, paying attention to quality and detail. I'm a particular person who knows what I like, but Nick strikes the perfect balance of incorporating what the client wants with his own stylistic recommendations that take the project to the next level. The price is right for the quality, especially when you consider Nick stands behind his work after the job is done. From design to implementation, you can't go wrong with Vega Landscape.

    Cleanline Landscaping
We had Cleanline out again around July to complete the backyard driveway section with the same quarter inch brick, and posts, railings and floorboards of our front yard patio had beenfalling apart in areas for years but Larry and his guys made it all look great. The patio is nice and sturdy with strait railings and re-worked posts. We also had them tear up the existing concrete walkway leading to the front door and it was replaced with brick as well. We are very happy customers. We will definitely use Cleanline Landscaping for our future hardscaping projects! Thank you so much Larry!

We signed the contract with Gaston on Tuesday, 11/10 and all of the work was completed by 11/16. He had quite a few men on the various jobs and they all worked hard, were courteous, and friendly. His paving crew got all of the work done, which was considerable, in one day. Those guys got to work at 7AM and didn't stop until around 3PM when everything was done. Gaston explained what needed to be done in detail and kept us informed as the job progressed. We're very happy with the quality of the work and the fact that his crew went above and beyond on the sprinkler work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gaston or use him again.

    West Coast Construction Services
Had some misgivings on initial contract signing, as one page contract did not adequately describe work. Donny Horton was primary contact. Price was lowest for concrete, demo and block wall. Description of work was inadequate on contract, and no room to add text. Tried to add separate statement of work, but this was later ignored.
Never sure of business name since they used both West Coast Concrete and West Coast Construction Services interchangeably. Donny himself is not listed as a licensed contractor or as associated with company.

Received 20 day lien notice from concrete supplier even though contractor had been paid. Apparently Donnys excuse was because we were holding last $1000 final payment for them to repair street. They charged extra for backfilling sewer trench. Charged extra for "placing" concrete in driveway trench patch, after quoting concrete price....only cost of material. Nickel and dimed at every opportunity.

Poured double door too narrow for standard door, so our only option was a custom door. Was not following plans. Now several months after pouring floor is full of cracks. The cracks have cracks. Also damaged street with tractor bucket while changing tire, putting our street damage deposit in jeopardy. Nightmare dealing with this contractor. Buyer beware of lowest bidder.

Scheduled the install, showed up on the scheduled day and worked incredibly hard during a heat wave.  All work was done exactly as requested, on budget, in the estimated number of days and, as requested, special attention was given to wheelchair access to home.

    Vanguard Swimming Pool Contractors
We needed to repair the pool/deck remodel that we had done in 2009.  We received bids from numerous contractors over the course of the past couple of years.  After meeting with Juan from Vanguard , we were finally ready to trust a contractor to carefully dismantle and repair the damaged areas of our deck/pool.
Juan's experienced crew did a skillful, careful, thorough, and artful job on all of the areas of our property that they worked on.
I would not hesitate to contract with Vanguard again or recommend Vanguard to anyone.

    Walter's Tile And Granite

I needed tile, stone and brick repairs during the sale of my father's estate home in Fullerton... Walter was so professional and showed me ways to save money on the needed repairs throughout the residence.

    1. Re-grouting a very large open tile shower and bath floor, along with replacing a number of broken and chipped tiles...

    2. Color matching filler for several large holes in stone steps between the kitchen and family room after a chairlift was removed when completed they were an exact match to the stone.

    3. Outside after removing a rioted awning I had 5 brick columns on the patio I thought would have to be demolished, removed and new concrete added to the deck from the removal. Walter suggested creating brick toppers on the columns which created very nice planter stands and save me a ton of money in labor, trash removal and concrete materials.

    4. Then he found a number of loose brick throughout the patio and front steps of the home and reset them at no/charge!!

The entire project took 2 days to complete and I was thrilled the Walter's work and professionalism I will use him again... I highly recommend his services!
