  • I was beyond impressed with the professionalism and work ethic of Mario and his team. His crew showed up on time and were incredibly polite in all their interactions with us. We weren't as prepared as we would have liked to be and still had items that needed to be boxed up and their team took care of everything without complaint. They were very careful in wrapping all our larger items to prevent them from getting dinged or scratched and even took apart and reassembled our huge king canopy bed which was a pain to put together even with instructions! At the new house they asked which boxes went where and really helped us sort out a lot of the chaos of moving. They even went as far as laying our sheets out for us on our bed when they were done, such a small gesture but it showed me they really take pride in making sure their clients are taken care of. All in all this was the most stress free moves I've ever had, Mario takes care of everything and his crew worked extremely hard for us all day (they put in a solid 10 hours). Thank you Mario!

  • I have been wanting to get organized for years. My real estate agent referred me to Kathleen at The Clutter Concierge. She was a life saver. She helped me get all my important papers in order, She organized my garage and all the rooms in my house and helped me make clear and concise decisions on what to keep or donate.   • I had three pieces of furniture damaged by the movers. One was a very expensive dining table that was left with several deep gouges - one being approx. 6 inches. One damaged piece I caught right away and the mover "repaired" it that day. The other pieces I didn't discover until the next day when we started moving stuff out of the way. I immediately called to report this to the owner. He seemed responsive. I then got two halfhearted phone calls back from the lead mover as an attempt to fix the problem. It has been almost 4 weeks and nothing has been done. I paid in cash and generously tipped the movers. I have no other recourse than to leave a negative review.

  • Bizarre. Was talked into a crew of three. They arrived complaining about the guards at the gate. As I showed them around the house, they rolled their eyes at everything. They worked in the bedroom for quite some time. Then the owner, Roy, called and said he was pulling his crew because the house was covered in feces and urine! I asked him in what room was this so-called feces, and he said "in every room." Such an outrageous and obviously false accusation! I asked the worker who seemed to be in charge where was this poop, and he pointed to a spot in the kitchen where the trash can and recycling cans had stood, and there was a slight discoloration. We said that is from the trash, and we wiped it off, obviously not poop. So I asked him where else was this poop, and he said "that's the only spot." A far cry from "in every room" as Roy had claimed, and it didn't look anything like feces. Then the guy says "you were not ready for us, call us when you are ready." Well, why would he want to come back if the house was a health hazard? And if you are billing so much per hour, you would think that you would welcome that extra time charged, doing the light work. When I called another moving company (Joe Movers), because of our horrible experience with Top Shelf, we told them there was lots of heavy furniture and the piano. They said no problem, it would only take two men (Top Shelf talked me into 3 men). Rather than a (rather immature) crew put together, these two men have worked in the moving business all their lives. They were fast, professional, and knew the unique features of many of our antiques. When they moved the bedroom suite, Joe showed me that the previous mover had broken the bed, but they were able to, using great care, preserve and move it. All we can think of, as far as the Top Shelf fiasco is that those young men were intimidated by the job, perhaps the stairs, and that, having spent a very long time trying to take the bed apart, and possibly being the ones who broke it, did not have the wherewithal to know what to do, so they did the only thing guaranteed to get them off the job, and that was to make up a story. Why else would they do it? We were so impressed with Joe Mover. If you want movers who have worked in the business for many many years (their family owned the #1 moving company in San Diego for many years), who like their job and appreciate furniture, hire Joe Mover. If you want to get a crew of inexperienced workers seemingly put together at the last minute, who roll their eyes at the job, call Top Shelf. I don't see how they stay in business.

  • The estimate (binding) started off at 1174.00 and I accepted it. I called Vanessa at New Jersey Transport and told her the storage unit size and some of the items in the unit. The price went up to 1730.00 and I accepted that as a change. The movers were to arrive between noon and four on 9/22/2017. The movers called several times because they were delayed. They arrived at approximately six o'clock. They looked at the unit and said it was going to cost me 5,000. They had already started putting stuff in the truck (Pensky truck) and I told them that was not what I had agreed to and that was too much. I asked them to remove the stuff from the truck and put it back in the unit. I was told they would give me a better deal at 3,000. By then it was very dark and I was in an unlit area with three strange men. I had been lighting the unit with my car lights so they could see. They said I had too much stuff and that was all they would take unless I paid more. So it was now up to 3,800. I signed because only about half was on the truck. Just before the loading was complete the main guy said that was all they could take. "Will you pay?' I said yes because about 95 per cent was already on the truck and I couldn't leave a few boxes in the unit. It didn't make sense so I signed another contract for 4475.00. I called the BBB and was told that if I filed a complaint before I received my belongings that I might never get them. The move was to be in Oceanside on October 1, 2017. So on or about the 16th I called New Jersey transport and was told they tried to get ahold of me and that my mail box was full. (I had one old message in voice mail) I was told the number to contact the mover. When I called and asked where he was....he said Mississippi. My belongings arrived in Oceanside on October 18th. I paid the remainder in cash as they requested. Had I been told up front the move was going to cost over 4,000 I may or may not have gone with the cost. I'm not sure. But the way they went from 1167 to 4475 was like a bait and switch. I would never recommend them to move anything.

  • They were prompt, courteous and professional. I have several large pieces of furniture with glass and they were very careful with everything. Nothing was damaged in the move. When I changed my mind about where I wanted one large piece placed they were very cooperative about moving it. I used Noel and his crew for my move because they were recommended by a friend who was extremely happy with the job they had done for her. I would Also highly recommend them.

  • San Diego Short Movers moved us from our apartment to our new house!!!  They were very understanding when we had to change the date because the escrow was delayed.  They were very professional and understanding of this situation and moved our date.  They arrived on time with all of their equipment and got right to work.  The recommendations that Noel made to me before the move made everything smoother and faster (which equals cheaper). I would definitely use them again and have already recommended them to my brother and his wife.  I was very comfortable with the price - especially since they finished sooner than expected.

  • Art, Mike and Andrew made a great job. They were working non-stop for 10 hours despite the terrible a hundred and five degrees outside. They also arrived 20 minutes early, which was great so they could make their plan of attack and actually start at the time for which we booked them. Thank you, Royal moving!

  • To start with, it was really easy to communicate with the office booking the future move. On the moving day, the guys showed up on time, were really hardworking, prompt, took caution to wrap my wooden furniture with plastic and blankets. They also put all the furniture's parts together that needed to be assembled back. Big thanks!

  • Very professional, responsive, and friendly.  They were on-time.  They picked up a fridge for me on the way to my new home.  They stayed three hours over (at a charge, of course - but it was fair).  One item was accidentally damaged during the move but they came to a quick resolution.  I would definitely use MSJ again.
