  • It went extremely well. It was approaching Christmas and we needed our range fixed to prepare food for the holidays. Karl said he could come the next morning which he did and very quickly found a short in the wiring. He was very professional and explained to us what had happened. He took care of the problem and then checked the range to be sure it was working.

  • He checked it out pretty good, pulled it out and opened the back. Said he couldn't find anything specific but it might be the main board (computer board) so he replaced that. Said to give it a week and see how it goes. I waited a week and no change, so I called him and left messages. To tell him that it didn't work and see what else we could do. I had told him that I was going to give it one go then give up and get another refrigerator, just not a Samsung! I figured maybe he would put the old board back since it wasn't what was wrong, maybe give me 50% off the board as a refund. But he did not call me back. I think he's a good repairman, I think partly it's the fault of Samsung building a faulty refrigerator. By looking online I found this to happen all the time with the Samsung products. I needed a cabinet depth refrigerator for a small kitchen and they made that size. But other brands make that size too so I will select another brand. The fridge is only 8 years old!

  • The water lines were replaced in about 20 minutes and I was charged $357, with 99 off for the basic charge. $249 is the basic service call for any Appliance. The dishwasher technician showed up an hour and a half late spent 20 minutes filling out paperwork and telling me I had a bad receptacle charging me again the standard rate - 30%of the$99 basic service charge. Believe me this is just another scam and I would never, I repeat never use Sears again! The refrigerator water line switch Were again a Kenmore defect we're very simple to replace, both technicians tried to sell me a 500-plus and you will service policy! This whole thing in my opinion was a rip off!

  • Xavier from Pro Tech was able to diagnose the problem quickly, although it was not what I wanted to hear. He told me that the pump motor on the dishwasher was shot and in his opinion it would not be worth it to repair it ($300-400). He then took the time to give me recommendations for dishwashers based on his experience in the repair business. Although I did not actually use Pro Tech for a repair, I appreciated Xavier's expertise as far as the diagnosis of the problem and his professional recommendations.

  • They did come out. I did get them off of Angie’s List. I don’t know whether he was wrong or right, I didn’t get a second opinion. He told me that my refrigerator couldn’t be repaired that it was the compressor. Looking into it further, I did end up getting a new refrigerator based on that. I am looking into it further. I do feel other companies that would have come out would have done a more detailed investigation of the problem. He kind of only took off one panel and said it was the compressor, but like reading through what other people do, I think that they would have looked at it differently. I don't know whether he was right or wrong. So, I just went out and bought another refrigerator. On price, he was probably the cheapest. Which I’m not so sure it was a good thing, because I went with him and also, he could come out right away. Most of the people were more expensive than that. So, I guess on price, he was good. I also did not feel like he didn’t give me a good inspection, so I don’t know if it was good or bad. I’m not sure if I would use him again. It’s hard! I’m dealing with I took his advice and I’m not sure it was the correct advice. It was hard for me to say. If I knew for sure that he advice was correct, then I would say yes, so I don’t know how I would really answer if I would use them again. I would probably say I would look for someone else, I guess. I would tell others to get a second opinion. They didn’t really repair anything. They just looked, they just inspected it, they didn’t do any repair at all because they felt it couldn’t be repaired. That’s the dilemma. No work was done at all. Just came down and looked at it and gave me his opinion. I definitely would get a second opinion. I would guess no, I would probably go to another appliance repair.

  • Left email requesting service call before business hours. Owner called within 1 hour, scheduled service call for same day within 6 hours. During the service call, the appliance was diagnosed with a possible faulty motor. As the owners, we did not want to replace the appliance with a new unit, we opted to have the existing appliance repaired. Pricing for a new motor and installation were discussed, the technician recommended replacing a capacitor before we ordered the new motor. Less that 24hrs later, the technician returned, installed the new capacitor and reassembled the appliance in complete working order. It would have been quite easy for the technician to just order the motor and charge us for it. Instead he too the extra time trouble shooting the problem, reducing our bill significantly, reducing the appliance downtime drastically, and gaining a very satisfied customer.

  • My dryer stopped tumbling on Sunday. I immediately logged into Angie's List to search for a repairman. I was pretty sure finding someone on Sunday was unlikely but I checked several and decided to try J & W as I could send an email that I hoped would be seen first thing Monday. I called Monday morning and Joe had seen my email and said he could be there between 2 & 4. He came just before 3 and said if it was just the belt it would be $110. He took a quick look and determined it would also need a pulley for an additional $10. Since my research had shown this to be well within the average cost I said great. About 20 minutes later he was done. He had vacuumed out the interior housing and replaced the parts, leaving me the old parts and gave me a 90 day labor and 1 year parts warranty. I am very, very happy and will use J & W for any future appliance repair I may need.

  • I called Pro-Tech Appliance and had a callback within one hour.  A technician was at the house same day and diagnosed the problem.  The parts were ordered and the owner, Jason came out two days later to complete the repair.  He was punctual, efficient and very helpful.  We felt that he gave us an honest opinion regarding repairing an older appliance.  We will definitely use this company again.

  • We have a Sear oven which has been a problem from day one. Initially repairs were done under warranty but every time we used it we still could smell gas. And it got worse over time to the point that wax paper in the oven would catch on fire and the gas would ignite with an explosion that would open the door. And the smell of gas got worse and worse. BTW, Sears told us that 'you always smell some gas, that is normal, don't worry' But smelling it on the other side of the house? Really? I looked on Angies list for an A graded appliance repair shop that was close by and found Pro Tech Appliance. Filled the form on their website in and I had Jason on the phone within the our. Later that day one of their technicians showed up and diagnosed the problem to a faulty safety valve which is supposed to cut off the gas when it doesn't ignite. He didn't have one with him but ordered a valve for us. Two days later he stopped by to replace the valve. Now when we use the oven we smell no gas, I mean absolutely nothing! And no explosions anymore either. We will use Pro Tech Appliance next time that we have an issue with one of our appliances. These guys are professional, courteous and on time. And they always tell you when they will arrive and keep you updated in case they run late.

  • Problem with spin cycle on our old washer. After making contact with Protech, a
technician was at our door well within an hour!   Technician was knowledgeable and
friendly.  He was able to determine the problem and provide accurate advice how to correct it.  He did a thorough check of the washer to see of there were any mechanical problems we should attend to.  There were none.  Great customer service and a very reasonable service charge.  Will definitely reach out to again if we have appliance problems.
