Skype Guitar, Bass, and Ukulele Lessons
Jeff is very good with kids which motivated my son to practice even when he didn't feel like because he wanted his teacher to be proud of him for learning the material.

ONLINE MUSIC LESSONS WITH THE LOU TUMAN STUDIO
Guitar has been my instrument of choice for over fifty years and although I have become pretty proficient at playing, writing songs by it  was challenging.  Noticing many song writers use the piano as their instrument of choice I decided it was time for me to give it a go.   Based on his experience, a fellow musician recommended Lou Tuman Studio to me.  After speaking with Lou for about thirty minutes I decided to join with him and have never regretted it.  Lou has been my instructor for almost two years and in that time I've been able to play piano with both hands, sight read, format and write songs to already written lyrics and in general give me a more solid foundation into the world of music.  I have a tendency to expect more from myself but Lou has the ability of slowing me down, showing me the progress already accomplished and smoothing over my own expectations.  Lou's knowledge and experience makes him extremely valuable to any musician from beginner of professional.

    Piano Finders
Piano Finders is a wonderful company.  They have access to many, many pianos across the country, at all price levels, and found us the perfect piano for our home.  They made sure it was in excellent condition, and handled the move for us as well.  They were knowledgeable, very interested in pleasing us, communicative, and professional.  They have a passion for music and a long experience in their industry.  I recommend them highly.

    Park Avenue Music Center
I didn't have my flute with me when I wandered in a few weekends ago to see the inside of this shop. (It's on my regular bike route.) They do sell, and instruct, guitars, but their focus is on band instruments: flutes, clarinets, sax, trumpet, trombone, and so on. It's one of not many places in the area that still does that, I think. They also have method books and sheet music for those instruments. My flute has been missing a felt and a cork from under a couple keys for some time. These parts didn't prevent me from playing, but they sure made an annoying sound when the key clicks against the instrument, so I decided to try out their services and went back to take my flute in a week or two later. Their repair person isn't on-site on Saturdays, but Melissa checked in my instrument and gave me a claim ticket for it. I mentioned the missing parts, and requested that they check it over, since it has been probably 20 years since I've had the instrument looked at. They called me the following Monday or Tuesday (I forgot already) with an estimate of $90-$160, which was a range because they had found some pads they wanted to inspect when they took the instrument apart. Pads are what seal the air on a woodwind instrument, and a leaky one on a flute can mean the difference between a good, clear low note and an airy gasp. I authorized the repair, and it was done the following Saturday, with another call to let me know to come in and get it. They replaced only the two pads that needed it. I played it, and those low notes are coming out more easily now. (They're seldom the easy part of playing flute.) I may yet sign up for lessons from Melissa as well?this part depends mainly on my time. From talking with her, I get the impression I would indeed have something to learn from her. Many of their staff instruct their respective instruments. They also have practice rooms in back, and a network of musicians, musical groups, and likely other resources they could put you in touch with.

BILL IS KNOWLEDGEABLE, PATIENT YET FIRM IN TEACHING FUNDAMENTALS. HE LETS OUR DAUGHTER PLAY FUN SONGS AND MORE CHALLENGING PIECES. SOMETIMES HE PLAYS ALONG WITH HER WHICH IS A LOT OF FUN FOR BOTH OF THEM.

400Very professional and knew what needed to be done and performed it them effortlessly. He reorganized the session so it would be easier for mixing and remixed down the session for a 2 track for mastering. I'm very happy!

    THE GUITARIST
There are two guys that have a little store off of el camino. Lessons are usually half an hour, once a week, but you can arrange it differently if you want. They are really flexible, and rescheduling a lesson is no problem. They are pretty awesome guitarists, too. They'll set you in the right direction. Nice dudes.

    RGS GUITAR STUDIOS
RGS Guitar Studios is a unique concept in musical instruction. I've had numerous teachers, and I'm seeing huge results with Patrick and Rex Bell, owners of RGS. I learned how to read music, and learned theory, which has had an immense impact on my playing. They provide forums for playing live;one is a monthly jam with local professional musicians, where you play songs that have been assigned, it's almost like a high school band class, but with pros. There is a full band, with horns and everything. The other forum is a monthly open-mic acoustic thing at a cafe in Concord, where you can play songs with the instructors or solo. It's great experience playing in front of other people. Both Rex and Patrick are graduates of the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston;they have years of teaching experience, and teach all levels. I take 1 hour lessons weekly, but they also give 1/2 hour lessons.
