ADaniel Snedegar Handyman UnlimitedDan was very professional during the entire work process. He showed up at the exact time he said he would, always letting us know he had arrived. He diligently worked through out the day. He organized the site ever night and checked with us each night to be sure the site was ok. His masonry work was outstanding. The work site when he finished was cleaner than when he started. He is a licensed General Contractor bonded and insured with experience in all the trade fields of construction. CI wish I could give this company a wonderful review. But, that's not going to be the case. Our System Pavers salesman, Mr. Mike Ammenwerth, took care of drawing up the plans. He was nice enough....however....communicating with him afterward was, in fact, a challenge in itself. We signed the contract for our Paver project, which included Pergola Patio Cover, which turned out to be a separate project in itself. We were assigned a couple of "project managers".....first it was Beau Johnston, the Repair Technician, who had to be pulled off the job....then it was Mr. Zakk Schot who ended up being our primary point-of-contact for the majority of the project. We also had interaction for the company Contraction Manager, Mr. Frank Gori. All in all.....communication was spotty at best throughout this experience (with the exception of dealing with Zakk). The Pergola patio cover became an issue as time went on. We advised Mike Ammenwerth that we wanted additional shade than we were receiving from our existing wooden patio cover. Mike told us "no problem" and recommended the Pergola. Well, the Pergola, once it was installed, sat higher (taller) with a less angle and, frankly, provided less shade (or really no shade) when we compared it to our old patio cover. It's attractive looking without question......however, now we have to install roll down shades to the sides and front of our beautiful patio cover. Not what we expected at all. Our patio cover faces to the South. So.....be very much aware of which side of the house YOU intend on the installation of the very same product. Had I done more research on companies that perform this very same type of service, I would have saved myself a heck of a lot of money. System Pavers profit markup is outrageous (I found out after-the-fact). The company itself only hires subcontractors for their work. The paver subcontractor (Mr. Rozival Sousa of Paver Performance, Lic #1060961) asked me what I paid for our paving contract.....he gave me a "look", then told me that he could of done it for half the price with the very same material and guarantees. Lesson learned. This company depends on the ignorance of the client. The subcontractor, and his team, did a reasonably nice job with our paving project. However, they were very sloppy with the concrete residue left behind on all edges of the paver boundaries. They also left lots of rock and sand that we had to clean up. We filled 3 large trash cans and still had more to go. Some sprinkler pipes were broken as well.....however....those were repaired. For the price I (we) paid for this construction project, I certainly expected more attention to detail when it was all said and done. Would recommend this company to someone else? Probably not. Do your research! More importantly, take several bids from various companies. You will eventually discover that System Pavers is way over priced.

FAt the end of last year I bought a wood-burning stove insert from Rick McDonald, who owns this business. I paid in full for the stove ($3660.91), leaving a balance of $1029.31 for labor and parts, which was to be paid after the installation was complete. Problems arose during the installation: 1) Rick didn't tell me the stove needed an electrical outlet to work. 2) Rick's workers broke my fireplace hearth by dropping the stove on it. These things made it necessary for Rick's workers to make three visits before the installation was complete. Each time his workers (his sons Tim and Ben) had to reschedule, they requested that I pay the full balance ($1029.31). THIS IS ILLEGAL. I explained that my husband and I have a policy that we don't pay the full amount until the job is finished. Each time I refused they became vindictive or abusive, threatening to take the stove away (although I'd already paid for it), threatening to install it improperly, refusing to do the paperwork for my rebate, refusing to take my credit card, and adding extra unauthorized charges to my bill. Although none of the difficulties were my fault, Rick yelled at me, calling me "the worst customer he ever had in 35 years". When I first dealt with them, he and his son Tim were very polite and knowledgeable. I was shocked to find them acting so unprofessionally when problems arose. Eventually everything was sorted out, but dealing with them was an exhausting ordeal. I had to threaten a bad review, complain to Mastercard, check with the state regarding the legality of contractors asking for full payment before the job is complete. It was the worst experience with workmen I've ever had, and I've hired a lot of them. I don't think they'd have been so abusive if I were a man. On their last visit I had my husband come from out of town to provide support. I really wouldn't hire these guys.

FTerrible job. Broke retaining wall and didn’t repair. Sloppy setup. Entire job finished in a few hours and began cracking right away. Rebar sticking up and out of driveway. Driveway has actually broken off in 2 spots. No base put down, even though it was in contract and paid for. I’m questioning whether Ile is actually a licensed contractor. Nearly 20 cracks and breaks in just a few weeks.

CIn the beginning everything went smoothly, but to get them to finish the job was a nightmare. It took over a month to get them back to finish the job. Also they were sloppy and left debris everywhere. In the end the did a good job and I did like it. Would I hire them again, humm I really don't know I would have to think about that.
