    LAR Construction & Remodeling
We used LAR construction & remodeling on our recent large scale remodeling project last month where we had them design and build our custom modern kitchen, completely remodel the laundry room and 2 bathrooms. The workmanship that they did for the whole remodeling was unbelievable. Everything came out completely wonderful... We cant be happier with th results of our remodeling product. Thank you

    Everything Handyman
I purchased two new Pulaski curio cabinets that arrived with cosmetic flaws on the door trim. The Pulaski Company was only providing $350 to correct these issues. Domain and Garden, the merchant, referred me to Everything Handyman to do the repair. August 23, 2016 Mr. Rathbun, a manager with Everything Handyman, arrived with their painter Rick, I asked if they were going to a primer prior to painting. Mr. Rathbun said it wasn't needed due to the curios paint was new, Rick made no comment. It took two trips to the paint store to find a color match. Mr. Rathbun left and Rick proceeded to wipe the curios with a damp cloth prior to painting. When done I commented the paint looked splotchy and not evenly applied. Rick said this was due to being wet and would look better in a couple of days. The next day the appearance was still splotchy. I called Mr. Ferrari, a Pulaski sales rep, to inform him that I was not happy with the results. I was flabbergasted to learn Mr. Rathbun had already contacted him, stating I was pleased with the job. Mr. Rathbun never consulted with me when Rick finished painting. What is worse, Mr. Ferrari already sent them a check. I contacted Mr. James, president of Everything Handyman, informed him of my dissatisfaction with the paint job and my disgust with Mr. Rathbuns unethical behavior. This was why I did not want any further dealings with Everything Handyman and hired Mr. Duffy to redo the repair. I had to pay Mr Duffy since the Pulaski Company would not provide more funds. I do not believe Everything Handyman deserved to be paid in full. I have repeatedly explained to Mr. James why I want a partial refund and he has been stonewalling me ever since.

    Everything Handyman
Their paint job made the cabinets look worse. The paint did not cover evenly. I felt their painter didn't have the experience to do the job properly. His only prep prior to painting was to wipe the surface with a damp cloth. Thus I did not have confidence it was worth his coming back to apply more paint. I hired Mr. Duffy who sanded and applied a primer prior to repainting. His job was great. Mr. James of Everything Handyman agreed to compensate me for the unsatisfactory results and eight months later still stonewalling. His excuse is that I did not allow his painter Rick to return to try again. It is clear the issue was the paint not adhearing evenly. Why didn't Rick know sanding and a primer was needed prior to painting? I am appalled that Mr. James feels justified not to compensate me for their unsatisfactory job. I have included three images. One of the original finish, the splotchy uneven paint job by Rick employed by Everything Handyman and the paint job by Mr. Duffy. We could not get a paint like the original, had to use a metallic paint that gives a mottled texture. I hope you will be able to tell which photo reflects the work by Rick vs Mr. Duffy.

    Everything Handyman
I want to share my experience with Everything Handyman Company, (EHC). I bought two curio cabinets made by the Pulaski Company from Domain Home and Garden, (DHG). When the curios were delivered, they had defects, the worst being on the doors silver wood trim. The Pulaski Company only provided $350 in compensation. It was almost impossible to get them repaired at that price. Mr. Eib from DHG recommended furniture restorer Mr. Fantucci, but later it was discovered he was not available, so Mr. Eib located EHC instead. The first red flag, I had asked their manager Mr. Rathbun a few times to provide references. Eventually he gave me one name, but never a phone number, making that reference useless. Mr. Rathbun stated EHC was five star rated, but by whom or how many satisfied customers? Despite my reservations and not finding anyone else to do the work, I proceeded to have them do the repair. On that day, Mr. Rathbun and their painter Rick inspected the curios, then left to get paint for my approval. The first color I rejected, but the second sample was a good color match and I agreed for it to be used. It was lunchtime, Mr. Rathbun left for the day and Rick was to return after getting the paint. Two hours later, Rick returned, explaining the delay was for having lunch and going to the bank to get money to pay for the paint. As Rick was painting, I commented the paint looked splotchy, the new paint wasn't fully covering the original. Rick explained that was due to the paint being wet and it would look different when it dried 24 to 36 hours later. I gave him the benefit of doubt and decided to reserved judgement until then. The next morning, the splotchy appearance remained, the curios look worse then before. A few hours later, I get an email from Mr. Eib informing me Mr. Rathbun told him I was pleased with the repair. What?? The last time I had seen or spoken with Mr. Rathbun was two hours prior to Rick even starting to paint. Why was he telling Mr. Eib and Mr. Ferrari, Pulaski's sales rep, I was pleased when he hadn't even verified my opinion? Mr. Rathbun did not reply to my email asking for an explanation. I was livid by Mr. Rathbun's unethical behavior. To make matters worse, Mr. Ferrari didn't verify my opinion either, and had already sent them a check for $350. Despite Rick's offer to return to apply another coat of paint, I didn't want to do business with a company who's manager lied and got payment under false pretenses. Plus, I felt if Rick didn't do it properly the first time, it would be a waste of everyone's time to try again. It took over a month to get another painter, Mr. Duffy, to do a second repair. Fortunately he did a terrific job, but it cost me $308. A big reason for Mr. Duffy's job being successful was his prep; he sanded and applied a primer before painting where Rick just wiped the surface with a cloth. How come Rick didn't know an extensive prep was necessary and Mr. Duffy did? On August 26th I started contacting Brett Crosby, Vice President of EHC who did not respond to my three emails. Eventually I called, his explanation, he was out of the country and wasn't aware of my contacting him. Since September 29th, I have been communicating with the president of the company, Mr. James. Mr. James offered me a discount on any future work I did with his company. His offer only helps me if I work with them again, so in effect it doesn't compensate me. The past nine weeks I have been getting various excuses for their not refunding the $175 I asked for. I feel my request is more than fair when considering Mr. Rathbun mislead Mr. Ferrari and their paint job had to be redone. I believe a reputable company that provides good customer service, would have provided their customer a refund weeks ago, and I no longer believe they ever will. I leave you to decide for yourself if this is a company you would want to hire.

    Berger's Table Pad Factory
Very pleased with quality of custom pads. My only complaint is that they should have clearer directions on taking the tables'measurements. It was borderline unprofessional and really not in line with their product. They should invest a little In upgrading the buyer experience. The materials could use updating.

    Barbara Gibson Piano Tuning
Very easy to contact, responsive to emails, gave range of price and kept within it, even was in lower range of prices. Called to say she would be late, but only by 15 minutes. All in all, great experience, will definitely call on her again.

I got personal service. They took time, explained options, gave ranges, and recommendations based on your lifestyle and goals. You will not find a better price on these fixed price high end appliances. They called to let us know about an upcoming price increase on their appliances.

    Airport Home Appliance - Hayward
We've had two experiences with them over the years. They have a clearance center which was horrible and that was about 3 years ago. The actual store is incredible. We had one salesman who met us and said he would give us as much time as we needed. He spent the next 3 hours with us. He was good and it was nice. He answered every question and he was knowledgeable. He was great.

We had been given AAA Upholstery as a recomendation. I went down to the very funky little shop in an alley in San Rafael and was a bit turned off at first because of the actual space itself. However, the owner came out and was very friendly and very knowledgable. He gave me fabric sample books to take home no problem. I picked a fabric and he said he would need to charge $90/yard (discounted from $120). I then went online and found the same fabric for $41/yard. The owner was not at all upset that I had gone online and offered to pick up the sofa and fabric from me that day. The sofa was done within a week and it looks amazing! I would absoluely use AAA Upholstery again. Don't let the space fool you!

McRoskey is great. They make their own mattresses and sell them without any middleman. The mattress was very expensive but they are definitely worth it. They make the most comfortable beds that I have ever been on. The owners know the business inside and out. They are comfortable, nice people who I have not heard curse in my company. Going over there is a fun experience because they just let you try out all of the beds they have there.
