    Moorstein, Dr. Bruce
He is so good that when the pre-op nurse came in she took my chart and looked and said "Oh boy Dr. Moorstein, I just love him," and I can understand why. He's a nice guy and he's sharp. I had my prostate taken out a few years ago and I'll have the scar from that forever, but the scar from the hernia which was about the same size has disappeared. He's friendly, competent, and efficient.

    Wolfe, Dr. Virginia
.The hospital was very pleasant remarkably. They all are very efficient, very clean and very good. The staff is very knowledgeable and very confident. They are really impressive place to visit. The staff was very friendly and professional. My experience was very good with them. I think that they are very good in communication, their slogans and those types of things. The effectiveness of treatment for general medicine is very good.

They have a vast network for hospitals in my area and since it’s a HMO, I need not pay anything, as I have insurance.  The doctors are very nice and prompt, especially my gynecologist.  I will continue to use their services in future.

I use them for family medicine, dermatology and psychiatry. All the doctors are in one place. If referred to a specialist, they are at the same place. I am pleased with their services and will use the same in future.

    Richmond Medical Center
In spring of 2008 we switched over to the other Kaiser. Their location is not very safe if I want to go there at night especially. I was also concerned about the parking. They actually expanded and it looks a whole lot better, but when I was there it was just so crowded. There were more of plants and they just grew up too fast, but they built a whole new wing there. The availability was fine and there were no major problems with the punctuality. The staff was good. They improved, so I think I may go back if I need to.

I have used their services to get my optical glasses and hearing aid. I am very satisfied with their services. However, I am not satisfied with their primary care physicians as most of their good physicians are not taking new patients and their new physicians are not so good. Going by my experience I feel that in some areas their services are excellent and in some other areas, they are mediocre. I like their ophthalmology, optometry and audiology services. Availability is a bit an issue when it comes to my primary care physician as she seems to be on leave a lot.

They have been good except I?ve had billing issues that they didn?t tell me about until I went to an appointment. You don?t get an appointment very fast and if you have an emergency, you?re going to wait a long time. If it is really urgent, they?ll make a same day appointment and they are very good about that. For my OB/GYN, sometimes it is two weeks or a month before I can get an appointment. It was a month and a half before I could get my daughter in for a physical so I had to change her doctor to get her in sooner.

    Linda Dubins MD
She doesn't rush, she takes her time. She sits down and talks to you while she also looks you over and takes notes. She is very hands on and I like that. She has a good reputation in the medical community. The facility is new and smaller and the parking isn't much of an issue. Everything is under one roof, which I love. Dr. Dubins is available every day except on Thursdays and I think that is because she teaches somewhere. I like that she is friendly, but not over friendly or intrusive. I am a private person and I don't like for people to ask me questions that aren't necessary. She has put me on medication for diabetes because it runs in my family and also give me alternative suggestions too. We can communicate via the internet and they also can make phone appointments with you which is nice so you don't always have to go in. You can also pull up your lab work on the computer, too. It is a wonderful system.

    Kaiser Foundation Hospital - Richmond
I think Kaiser is an excellent system. It is an integrated care; you have your primary care and other specialists as a part of the same system so they have access to all your medical records. They have made a great deal of progress in digitizing the medical records. Its very impressive. The doctors can sit in front of the computer terminal when you are in middle of your appointments and look up all kinds of medical records. The Kaiser system has a large bay area so you can choose the physician and the specialists of your choice within the system. They recruit very high quality physicians and they are all board certified. I am really happy with the physicians I have had. I had serious health crisis in 1989. I had breast cancer and the treatment I got there was excellent. They emphasize on prevention and wellness medicines. I think its the right philosophy. The physicians dont have the incentive of over treating the patient there. When I was treated for cancer I had a problem with chemotherapy I felt I needed to be hospitalized which was unusual for that treatment. My oncologist agreed with me and he said that the physicians at Kaiser did get to make decisions like that. The physicians do get to make decisions there. The only drawback at Kaiser is that the doctors are in such pressure that they see the patients quickly. After the patient gets to see the physician they take the feedbacks on that physician. They go above and beyond. Another wonderful thing about them is that they have nurses who are available 24/7. If you have a health problem you can call them and they will decide if its an emergency case or urgent care or if it can wait until morning. They are powerful too; if you have to be seen immediately they will make arrangements for it. There is another good feature at Kaiser; you can email your physician and they will reply to your mail within 48 hours. My physician replies to my mail within 24 hours. They also put your lab test results online.

    Kaiser Foundation Hospital - Richmond
What I like best about Kaiser HMO is that everything is in-house. You do not have to go all over the place for tests and specialist. The doctors do not rush you in and out taking the time to talk with you. The facilities are very clean and keep the property maintained well. It is difficult to get in to see a doctor unless you go in for an urgent care visit.
