Saw Dr. Novack, who came highly recommended.  He was very personable, spent time with me, explained things well.  You could tell he cared about his patients.  There are multiple doctors in this practice, so I can't speak to the others.  But Novack was great.
BUT they really overbook, and I was told by others who were waiting that this was pretty typical.  I waited 3 Hours!  If it was a fluke, then fine, but I was certainly led to believe this happens all the time.  I hear getting the earliest morning appointment are the only way to go, so keep that in mind.

From start to finish, the experience was great. They were upfront when making the appointment that I would need to get my eyes dilated so I should plan accordingly. The reception staff is always pleasant and open to changes. The doctors there, I've seen all three over the years, are consistently great and efficient. Marigold was outstanding in helping me select and with the fitting of my glasses.

I have been going to this office since the late fifties or early sixties. The doctor who opened the practice was my next door neighbor, and he treated not only my family but many others in my neighborhood. His name was Jack Fields, MD, and he was not only an exceptional eye doctor and surgeon, but had a brilliant and witty mind. He made his office a fun place to go as he always had a great new joke to tell. After he retired in the mid-eighties, he turned over the practice to Dr. Alan Mandelberg, who has since enlarged and improved the physical surroundings and hired several other extremely competent and friendly doctors who have different specialties within the eye care sphere. Dr. Mandelberg not only accomplished this changeover without inconveniencing his patients, but he has managed to maintain the original warm and friendly atmosphere established by founder Dr. Fields. Dr. Mandelberg himself is a well-respected, brilliant physician with a warm and engaging personality. Going to A Center for VisionCare is a pleasant and comfortable experience all the way around. The entire staff is highly competent, well-trained and personable. There is adequate parking in the rear and a pharmacy in the same building.

We were getting ready to go out of town on vacation when my husband starting having eye problems. I explained this to the receptionist, and she said she would talk to Dr. Feinfeld and call me back. She called back within an hour with an appointment for three days later. Dr. Feinfeld saw my husband right away when he came in for the appointment, and had a him out the door with a treatment plan within half an hour. Dr. Feinfeld was very pleasant, friendly, and professional. He is a great doctor and I would highly recommend him.
We have been using Berg Feinfeld Vision Care for several years for my husband's eye care. I have always had a great experience there. The receptionists are friendly and efficient. Dr. Felestian has been doing his eye exams for the last five years, and she is wonderful. She has recommended a new type of contact lens for him to wear, which was much more comfortable and better for his eyes. I would recommend this clinic for any eye care needs.

    Not well.

Immediately following the surgery and for the next several weeks, my eye with the implanted lens was completely blurred. .Before the surgery. I was verbally assured that a multifocal lens would mean that I would almost certainly not have to wear glasses in the future for any distance. My eyeglasses at the time of the surgery did not have traditional frames. The ear pieces were connected directly to the lenses. Since I had next to no vision in either eye without my glasses, I was very concerned about my ability to see from both eyes following the surgery. When I expressed my concern, I was told not to worry, they would take care of me.
Following the surgery, I was virtually blind without some form of correction. When I tried my glasses, I found that I could see out of the noninvolved eye, but there was no help for the blurriness in the innolved eye. I covered that lens of my glasses with a dark material in order to have some vision. At an immediate follow-up visit with the doctor, I asked specifically if that would cause any problems, and was assured that it would not. He just said to give it some time and come back in a week.
After contacting my primary care physician, I made an appointment with another opthamologist. My last appointment at Valley Eye Center (WHICH TOOK THREE AND ONE HALF HOURS WITH ONLY ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES OF THAT TIME IN TESTING, AND/OR WITH THE DOCTOR or STAFF) was a little more than two weeks after the surgery. My vision was still blurred. AT that visit, the staff wanted to set up a future appointment for me to take more tests to establish what the next step should be. Not happening.
My new opthamologist explained to me thart a multi-focal lens did not have the success rate of a monofocal lens. The specific lens implanted required an adjustment period of weeks to months (I did not know until that time that there was more than one multifocal lens available). Did I mention that the multifocal lens cost $2,800.00 more than the monofocal lens, which is not covered by medicare or private insurance plans. He said that the covering on the lens of my glasses was interring with the adjustment of the eye to the implant. He also stated that the long adjusment period was just one of the reasons he personally did not use that particular lens.
A member of his staff fitted me with a contact lens for my noninvolved eye at the same office visit. Even with a complete work-up and all the tests, the viist lasted only a little more than an hour. Within a few days, my eye began to adjust and my distance vison improved. After weeks, my distance vision improved significantly. My close-up and intermediate vision remain blurry to this day. This is the same result that I would have most certainly gotten from the implantation of the monofocal lens (did I mention the extra $2,800.00 for the multifocal lens?). So- I now have a contact lens for one eye, reading glasses for near vision and another set of reading glasses to use the computer. I still need to have catarac surgery in the other eye. Guess who will do the new surgery?
Unless you are prepared to spend long amounts of time in the waiting room, and leave with skimpy and incomplete information, this is not the place for you.
It is certainly not the place for me.

Dr. Gordon is great. Definitely, the most personality I've ever experienced in an optometrist.
He really takes his time with each patient and spends a while getting to know you and all of the various factors that could influence the health of your eyes and vision. This would include what type of work you to, what kinds of hours you work, and various recreational activities.
It's clear he has an incredible amount of knowledge and welcomes a challenge. I've had optometrists before who clearly did not have an active interest in me or my well being - I was just a dollar sign. This is absolutely NOT the case with Dr. Gordon. I gave him a B for professionalism ONLY because he occasionally runs late. However, it's very worth it, because sometimes he'll be running late for the next person because he's taking extra care of your needs.
Customer Service also gets a B only because I've had a two instances of not receiving phone calls when my ordered products had arrived. But, his staff is very friendly and always helpful. They give great opinions if you are considering a pair of glasses.
I was recommended to him by another patient and I've recommended others to him. Several of my friends go to see him now.
One last note - To expand on his great knowledge and tenacity, he wants to make sure you understand what he's doing and why. He takes time to explain why your vision is the way it is and what the options are for correcting it in terms of the actual medical treatments. He also tries things outside the box - my contacts are not made for the shape of my eye, but he had a feeling they would work. They are the best contacts I've ever worn.

I picked out and bought a pair of sunglasses with progressive, mirrored lens in wrap-around style frames.  Unfortunately, the frames were defective and broke in just a few days.  I returned, and they offered to give me a full refund.  I asked if they had any other frames that might fit the rather specialized lens I had ordered from them.  The only other frames they had were more expenses, and I was fully ready to pay the difference, but without me even asking, they discounted the new frames, so I owed them nothing more.  This was the third pair of glasses I have bought at Eye Lab, I a fully expect there to be a fourth pair at some point.
