I can’t say enough about Shay and his crew. Consummate professionals all. Shay is a foundation expert and a good one. If you want your property to last call this guy! The house we had the pleasure to work on together is a California Spanish revival built in the 30s. It s foundation had been rocked by several large quakes here in California over the years as well as a great deal of water damage and it needed some (a lot) of attention. Of all the contractors I met and spoke with, and got estimates. Shay wasn’t the least expensive but, he was honest and explained thoroughly the process, took pictures and literally put my mind at ease that this was the guy for the job. Then over the course of 10 days I got to meet the crew. Let me tell ya it’s hard to find a work ethic like these guys exhibit every day on the job...****! What else is there to say I am still working with Doheney to this day on other projects because their that good. I am writing this from the comfort of a brand new concrete deck that looks awesome and will help preserve the house for another 85 years.

Excellent! The structural engineer came out immediately for the assessment. The start date was set and everything went smoothly. Every Alpha employee is professional and friendly, prompt, knowledgeable, and responsive to emails. They show up on time, get the job done, clean up, explain everything in detail, and prices are more than reasonable! I can't begin to express how happy I am dealing with Alpha. They are refreshingly honest and don't overbid. We also had another buckling wall at another property that they handled as well. One cost $4300.00 and the other cost $5900. We are using them for our earthquake retrofitting as well at 2 other properties. Will report back when those jobs are complete.

They made one mistake, they reinforced the wrong place. I was like this is wrong. You suppose to do my bathroom. It was expensive. It cost a lot more this time. They made a mistake too. Overall, they are a good company, and I would use them for the next time. The fact instead they finished in one day, the finished in three days. I have to take off from work. I was uncomfortable. Their people wasn't doing it right, and I had to supervise.

Very exact. They gave me an guarantee that my problems won't returned. That is what happened. My roof was cracked out. That humongous tree fell on my house twice. My one corner of house was devastated from it. They were able to pull it up. They were able to fix it up. Not fix up the cracks. They cracked it up when they fixed it. Everything is back, and normal. It never sank again. They advised me how to re-slope the grounds around my property. Regraded. I followed their advice, and I don't have problems anymore. I had water problems around the foundation. The grading was wrong. I fixed it all, and everything went away. Just as they told me.

We called for an inspection because we noticed that the trim pieces around some of the windows and doors seemed to be spreading farther and farther apart. Also, there was an existing crack above a door that seemed to be getting worse as well. Tom was awesome. He came out for the free inspection as listed on Angie's List and brought Kent - one of his repair guys that he was training to do inspections. They were very thorough and walked us through the house with them - explaining everything he was looking for and what the different little things around the perimeter of the rooms might mean in terms of the foundation. They then crawled under the house to inspect the foundation itself. They took several pictures of the issues and very clearly explained what they meant. All of the issues were minor - not something we had to address immediately. The trim and cracks were settling and weather related - not the foundation. He really helped us feel a lot better about the whole process. In addition, they also noticed and took pictures of some other problems (cracked sewer line, disconnected dryer vent line). Thanks to them we avoided a major plumbing catastrophe and a lint fire. Their price was very fair and well below what we thought we were going to have to pay. Some other inspections used scare tactics to try and force us to make a decision immediately. They explained the issues they found before they left and then sent us a detailed repair list and cost via email a couple of days later. We moved forward with the repairs for peace of mind and because the cost was reasonable. We scheduled the repairs about a week and half later (after we had the plumbing and dryer issue fixed.). The guys that came out to make the repairs were great - on time and done in a few hours. Highly recommend!!

We?re the Wingham family.  George and Penelope, our grandbaby, Veronica Estrada and Livvy, our Terrier.   We've lived here 41 years.  I'm crippled  with service-connected disabilities.. Penny may need a heart transplant. So our home needed to be made safer and  much more user-friendly to serve our needs.   Accordingly, we decided to explore the open concept strategy.
A project such as this is a major life-changing decision involving considerable expense and time.  We selected Nexxus Remodeling Inc. for a) a comprehensive evaluation of our needs, and b) a written estimate to follow.
Tony Panterra, the owner met with us. We jointly formulated a plan of action. Both interior AND exterior renovation was decided.  THE ENTIRE HOUSE. We lived in the back throughout?Crews became like part of our family
Our project taken estimated 1500 to 2000 MAN HOURS. Firstly, process involved four basic steps, namely a) kitchen, b) half bath, c) restoration of our original hardwood floors and d) installation of recessed (pot) lights throughout. But as time passed, MANY MORE CHANGES IN PROJECT SIZE AND SCOPE.
    a) Main electrical panel needed 200 Amp upgrade. b) Existing wiring needed upgrade. c) Tankless water heater, d) power move for hot tub, and e) relocation of washer/dryer to side yard for continuous use during project.  Duly executed??..
Crews arrived 15 July. Tony introduced us to John, his superintendent and Zion, John's second in command. Both John and Zion are Israeli soldiers. I am a Vietnam war veteran. Common ground. Work began. Military precision best describes the forthcoming renovation process. Crews worked tirelessly EVERY DAY. FULL DAYS. UNTIL COMPLETION. OFTEN MULTIPLE CREWS.  Tony Panterra, Nexxus owner surveyed progress MOST EVERY DAY.
    Project progression:
I?m a mover. I had my own crew help me gut the entire house interior.  All but the biggest furniture was loaded into a storage container..  Carpet removal provided insight as to floor condition in advance?  No surprises??   Home Depot sale involved purchasing multiple state-of-the-art  stainless appliances at one time. Five kitchen and laundry appliances.  Combining my military discount, we saved many thousands of dollars that could be put toward other necessities. Another savings.  Tony saved us additional thousands of dollars (contractor discount) helping Penny select and purchase floor tiles, quartz countertops and backsplashes, bath tile (floor to ceiling), light fixtures, furniture and other items?.
Demolition of both kitchen and half bath simultaneously, quickly and smoothly. Permits pulled for structural and electrical needs.  At first a peninsula facing living room was the plan. However this evolved into a rectangular island.  Next step is engineering.
    Addendum/Change Order Time:
Pen wanted the new place to be perfect.  Addendums taken place throughout this entire process.  Considerable extra cost.  A 27 foot header was installed to support the house roof. Additional headers needed as other walls demolished. Support posts and foundation retrofit provided. Designing process intensive. Once kitchen was gutted, plans for carpentry, woodwork, custom cabinet design, counter tops/backsplashes, tile flooring etc began.  Tony Panterra was right there advising us as to options to make this work.  Couldn?t have done this without him.
Meanwhile, crews began half bath reconstruction.  At this point, Penny decided to upgrade our full bath. Additional plans and design. Extensive plumbing modification.  Additional costs were not a factor as they were comprehensively explained and agreed upon.
While all this was going on, extensive new drywall plus necessary floating/patching of existing ceilings/walls taken place.  Exterior stucco was patched, repaired  and prepped for painting. Removal and installation of new rain gutters and downspouts performed.  Ultimately, exterior  painting executed.  Upon preparation of interior walls and ceilings painting commenced. Important to note these operations also taken place simultaneously without any interruption. Multiple crews.
Both bathrooms were completed. Lighting fixtures and medicine cabinets were installed. Half-bath is superb. Placement of controls plus additional grab handles promotes safer use of the new shower.  Another renovation and additional expense. cabinet on the landing was demolished.   A BONUS. New location for for a large breakfront was designed. This gives us a formal dining room.
We even paved the street median strip to match the rest of our landscaping.
It is now late November.   We?re settling in?.We?ll be busy rest of our lives exploring placement options of existing and new household items and furniture.    MOST IMPORTANT - WE?RE ECSTATIC ABOUT THE NEW HOME TONY PANTERRA AND NEXXUS REMODELING INC MADE POSSIBLE.  LIKE BEING A FIRST-TIME HOME BUYER 41 YEARS LATER.

They arrived on time and began working.  At first it was going to take two days to complete, but it was finished in one day.  They also worked with me regarding the scheduling. I was happy that the work was done in one day which meant I only had to keep my dogs out of the yard for that one day. The work was not rushed and it was done very professional.  The price was very reasonable for the work they did. I would recommend them to anyone that needs this type of work.
