    Dr. Khiet Hoang
An unfortunate event, with a prior cardiologist, led me to the fantastic experience of being seen and treated by Dr. Khiet Hoang. I was referred to Dr. Hoang by my primary doctor and by a woman I met in the parking lot. She was praising the care that her elderly mother received from Dr. Hoang. Dr. Hoang has treated me since May 3, 2017. Dr. Hoang has outstanding skills that benefit his patients. He is pleasant, presents information in a manner that is professional yet very understandable, he patiently listens, and discusses recommendations and provides resources as needed. He provides enough time for you to feel that he cares about you and what you have to say. I have a mechanical heart valve. I take a blood thinner; consequently, the management of my medication and diet has to be closely monitored; sometimes weekly. Dr. Hoang assigned one nurse, Jack Mobley, to handle the management of medication. For me, it was easier to follow one nurse who I could communicate with about changing dosages and who knew me well enough to know when I was doubtful or stressed. Eventually, Dr. Hoang referred me to an excellent hematologist who was conveniently located. This referral has made life easier to Jack and for me (although, I missed Jack’s upbeat and reassuring personality.) Dr. Hoang’s team is professional yet pleasant. The waiting area is nicely furnished and the examination rooms have up to date medical equipment. The office is conveniently located and there is ample parking and you are seen within a few minutes of your arrival. When you check out, you are given an “AFTER VISIT SUMMARY”. This summary is very helpful. It summarizes your visit: date of visit, record of your vitals (blood pressure, weight, temperature, recommendations, next appointment….plus more. )

    Baby Nurse and Doula Services
In the 4 months I’ve known Veronica, she has truly become a part of our family. She began working for us as our Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist the day we brought our daughter home from the hospital. She has been a staple at our house ever since, working everyday for the first two weeks and every-other night a week and—never once missing a scheduled day or arriving late. Veronica is currently responsible for caring for baby Carson and has gotten her on a steady sleep/wake/feed schedule. Her covering Newborn-Care Specialists are just as well-recommended as Veronica herself. When we needed extra help, her covering team-member integrated into our family’s routine perfectly, as they are trained under Veronica and practice the same philosophies. Baby Carson’s schedule continued without a problem. Of Veronica’s strengths, her greatest is her knowledge as a newborn care specialist, Sleep-Trainer, and Doula. She devotes her full attention to making sure Carson was on the right track to healthy sleep habits right from the womb. While I could speak volumes about Veronica from both a personal and professional level, I’ll let my kids do the talking instead. My son (4) talks about her like she is a valued family member, and that’s exactly what she is. Every night, my son looks forward to giving Veronica a warm hug goodnight. Anyone who owns multiple dogs knows how loud and rambunctious they can get when someone arrives. Some people may shrink in fear from the barking, but Veronica is unphased. She has shown nothing but fondness to my fur babies and often helps with letting them out for their potty breaks. She conducts herself professionally, respects confidentiality, and connects with babies in a way that I have never seen. -Aysia Howard

    Daryl Houston MD
Dr. Houston is thoughtful and patient. He listens to and encourages patients to be involved in their care. He is gentle, yet direct, in discussing medical issues (diagnoses, medical treatment plan, prescriptions (reason for, side effects, etc.) recommendations and warnings. In my friend’s case, Dr. Houston discussed and demonstrated breathing and circulation exercises. Dr. Houston spends appropriate time with patients. Dr. Houston referred my friend to several doctors for various diagnoses and health issues. Every referral was like him. They were knowledgeable, caring, and proactive. Dr. Houston has, for over thirty eight years, been treating patients with emphysema, pneumonia, COPD, TB, asthma, etc. His patients have the benefit of his years of experience coupled with his high involvement with many doctors and hospitals that respect him and work with his patients. My friend benefited from referrals to over six doctors, several labs, a hospital and a transitional care hospital. In July 2019, Dr. Houston saved my friend’s life. He was admitted with several life threatening illnesses and was in the critical care unit for approximately one month; after which, he referred my friend to a transitional hospital. Dr. Houston visited most days. When he could not visit, one of his colleagues did. Nurse, Monica, is invaluable to patients and to Dr. Houston. She gathers information from patients, reviews records and records info, assists Dr. Houston in many ways. Monica is highly regarded by most patients. Dr. Houston’s “front office team” helps the flow of patients making appointments, arriving for visits, having various requests, etc. As one patient stated, “The front office is there to take care of business so that the doctor can take care of you”. In sum, the office is pleasant, from the “front office team” (Maria, Anita, and Leah), to Monica- nurse, and to Dr. Houston.

    Eknath Deo MD,FACP
On 11/18/2019, I had my initial visit with both Dr. Deo and Kathy You, Nurse practitioner. Thankfully, I was accepted as their patient. Dr. Deo developed an initial plan to stabilize my INR and a medication plan (known as “bridging”) for me and for the surgeon to follow prior to surgery and post surgery. The surgery was successful. Unlike a surgery done 7/31/2015 that left me with a very large hematoma and an infection that resulted in a RN nurse treating me at my home (every day, including weekends, for one month). Both, Dr. Deo and “Kathy” listened to my concerns; read the journal of my INR dating back to 2015; and looked at the photograph that showed the large hematoma. I have had regular telephone calls with “Kathy” about medication dosage and INR results. My INR is now within goal range. Dr. Deo is pleasant, knowledgeable and experienced. He has over 20 years in medicine His office is conveniently located; the office staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. They work together to meet the needs of the medical persons and their patients. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Dr. Deo and Kathy You, NP to my family, friends, and to you.

    Independent Physical Therapy
An Excellent Physical Therapy Experience. I sustained a very painful knee injury with tears in the ACL and MCL ligaments. IPT in Sherman Oaks was wonderful. The Physical Therapist Danielle instructed, guided, and evaluated my progress at each visit. The PT Technician Anthony assisted me with exercises to strengthen my knees and the muscles surrounding my knee(s). This was my second time using IPT in a five-year period. Each time, post therapy I am more knowledgeable, my injuries are vastly improved, and I have added body strength to assist in preventing re-injury. Karina, the receptionist, is very pleasant, helpful and professional. Making appointments was never stressful. I recommend IPT in Sherman Oaks to everyone. This is the place to go to get better. Thank you for everything Danielle, Anthony, Karina and IPT!

    Thiri Oo, M.D.
Dr. Oo was amazing. She is obviously very bright, and also caring and knowledgable. The first time I saw her, I had been without insurance for a while and came with a list of needs. She navigated through each issue quickly and thoroughly. The second time, I was having trouble swallowing and she quickly determined that my trouble swallowing was due to a medication I had recently begun taking. Dr. Oo is a real find. The problem is the practice with which she is associated, Healthcare Partners in Monrovia. This is why I haven't been back. I will enter a separate review for them.

    Raffi Ara Chalian
I find Dr. Chalian to be a compassionate, caring, attentive, and very proactive doctor, ie, he has a great sense of urgency about my medical condition. From the time I made an appointment with him, I was able to see him in 2 days. When he was unable to get a sample of my mass(as 2 other doctors weren’t able to either), he immediately scheduled outpatient surgery at Glendale Adventist Hospital(btw, the staff there were great – they answered my questions and were very kind and professional) in 1 week. 3 days later, Dr. Chalian called me with the report that my mass was an aggressive form of uterine sarcoma(cancer). The next day, I had CAT scans done, and in 3 days he met with me to go over the results and his recommended treatment of surgery ASAP(he actually set up a tentative surgery date). I had about 24 questions to ask him about the type of cancer I had, as well as about the treatment he recommended for me. He answered all my questions to the best of his ability and with straightforward honesty. He always asks me if I had any more questions, and he always reassures me that I will be well taken care of. Dr. Chalian also supported my decision to seek a second opinion about my treatment(he wasn’t defensive about it – he had a positive attitude). I sensed that he was more interested in getting me healed, rather than it was all about him. His office assistant Violet was very helpful in getting my medical records from my primary physician(had a problem there), as well as resolved my health insurance denial of service for part of my CAT scan. In summary, I’m very happy and fortunate that I went to see Dr. Chalian, especially when I had a very difficult time finding an ob-gyn oncologist who could see me within a week’s time(usually when I called such a specialist like him, I would be given an appointment one or two months from when I called). His work address is: 1505 Wilson Terrace #150, Glendale, CA 91206

    Marsden's Foot Comfort Center
Service went very well. I've been patronizing this business 5+ years. Getting to them means a long unpleasant drive through Los Angeles area traffic, but this business is worth it. They know their product lines and customers well. Podiatrists send patient referrals to them. I have a problem caused by a shifting bone in one of my feet, and must wear corrective shoes. The shoes eliminate the need for surgery. Cost of services is not cheap, but I'm not complaining, the results are worth the price.
