  • The first company we had out to diagnose the issue with our air conditioner quoted us $11,000.00. They said is was our compressor and our entire “system” would need to be replaced. By absolute chance we found Joe on Instagram. Long story short, he saved us $9,000.00. There are not that many companies in the heating and air industry that you can trust. Not only is Joe honest, he is thorough, goes the extra mile and is just an all around great guy!

  • This contractor installed new parts at the condenser, the condenser fan still would not run properly. It would run for maybe 10 minutes and stop. Then kept trying to run, but would not. We subsequently discovered, through another source, that it was an issue with a clogged primary overflow drain pipe and water sensor. This contractor never even went upstairs to see the upstairs thermostat or furnace. Spent a lot of time on the phone talking to other clients or workers on other projects.

  • They said the part was not available and I needed new furnace and AC unit. They quoted new furnace and AC. I asked for just new furnace, which they quoted, but they said they couldn't guarantee it without new AC. Their furnace quote alone was twice what I received from another very reputable Heating and AC contractor. This company apparently charges about twice what the going rate should be for this type equipment. I paid $85 for the service call and had the furnace replaced by another contractor for half of this company's quote. It really pays to get more than one quote.

  • Excellent. The technician, Carl arrived on time, showed me exactly what the problem was, and had the new furnace ordered and installed the next day. The work was professional and neat, as Carl cleaned up any mess and took away the old unit. Would use Polar Bear again, but suspect this furnace will last a long time!

  • Not well. The couple was charming and I thought I had found someone who combined old-word craftsmanship with new-word technology. Not the case. Once they finished their install, the system consistently produced errors/problems/shut downs on a daily/weekly basis. I was patient for over a year as they tried to remedy the issues. But, after 66 emails, 73 phone calls/texts, and 10+ house visits, nothing has improved. I don't know whether the issue is incompetence or a lack of professional pride. The final straw was the water damage caused by an overflowing unit due to improper drainage setup. When the vendors came to assess water damage they identified multiple safety and efficiency violations with the A/C installation. City inspector came out and confirmed violations--cited us on five major issues. The AC equipment manufacturer was frustrated with FixMyAC and ended up sending a different contractor out to diagnose and correct the issues. That vendor reinstalled the AC system and it has worked perfectly since. I'm pleased the manufacturer was able to provide some guidance but I wish I could've avoided the additional cost ($4,315) to reinstall the system properly and the cost ($2,610) to repair the water damage. Not to mention the time/frustration needed to correct something that should've been avoided to begin with.

  • Bill came out on short notice. Having previously serviced the unit a year prior accurately predicted the 24 yr old AC eventual demise! They were able to install the new unit a few days later. Great job, cleaned up as they worked , super happy.

  • Called Mark on a Saturday morning after I managed to "break" my HVAC when changing thermostats. He came out same day (only about 2 hours later), fixed the unit (replaced a fuse) and then installed the thermostat for me so I didn't fuse the unit again!

    Very responsive, professional and extremely knowledgeable about HVAC systems. Did a great job for a good price and I will definitely use him again.
