    Nick's Home & Appliance Services
This review should supersede my previous review at the end of August, 2016. At that time, I was unable to contact PAP both by phone and web. I drove to their address and voiced my concerns. The person at the desk entered my job into the system and from that point everything was great. She had no explanation for the problem that I had experienced, but indicated that there had been reports of other similar issues. When the technician arrived on time at my home I informed him of the problems I had encountered. He said that they are now updating their system. Their technician, office contact and prices now are GREAT... and my oven is working as it is supposed to..

    Nick's Home & Appliance Services
It appears that shortly after being voted the "best appliance repair" in Roseville, California, this company is no longer in business (AngiesList: Please verify). I called to set up an appointment Aug. 22, 2016. Left voicemail. I called the next day and again left voicemail. To date I have received no response. I attempted to schedule online: received only no-reply verification that my e-mail was received.

    A-1 Appliance Service
When my smooth-top range quit working over the holidays I called A-1 because when I had a problem with my refrigerator last summer they responded promptly and diagnosed the condition. Again, the repairman responded quickly. I demonstrated the (to me) baffling symptoms: some things worked fine on the stove, others didn't work at all. He manipulated the knobs a couple of times and then told me the problem was most likely with my control board. He gave me an estimate of $500 to replace the board. I was unwilling to spend $500 on a 9-year old appliance, so declined.
After researching the cost to replace the range and the cost of the board on line ($250), I elected to order the replacement board and install it myself. After I did so the problem persisted. I called A-1 back and the same service person responded. This time, he actually examined the stove, and upon pulling it out from the wall found that one of the 110 V supply wires had come loose and was arcing. He tightened the connection and the range has worked perfectly ever since. All together the repair ended up costing me $500 anyway.
So why not examine the appliance FIRST before quoting me $500 for an expensive unneeded fix? The only reason I'm not and quot;failingand quot; these guys is that I am embarrassed that I called them without examining the range thoroughly myself. On the other hand, as they say, I'm not making the big bucks for appliance repair.

    Hudson Appliance Repair
I contacted Joe Hudson yesterday afternoon to request his services in repairing our dishwasher. He called me back late afternoon that day to tell me that he would not be available till later because of another emergency and if that would be agreeable. I was thankful he called to let me know that he would be later than originally scheduled. He came out this afternoon and repaired the dishwasher in just 20 minutes. He knew exactly what the problem was based on our conversation the previous day. He had the replacement part in his truck and made a quick change out and tested the washer to my satisfaction.. Thanks Joe.

    Russell's Appliance Repair
My refrigerator died (over the weekend, of course).  I called Russell the first thing Monday morning and he came out, diagnosed the problem and replaced the part.  The fridge is running fine.

Russell gets a B in price only because I wish everything wasn't so expensive.  Considering he had to drive to Citrus Heights and back for the part, I think his charges were fair.

    Sears Home Improvement Products
I have a maintenance agreement with them on the refrigerator. They didn't mess around and put in a new one and that was it. It was about $500 according to them if I'd had it done but I didn't have to pay anything because I have the maintenance agreement. I would absolutely use them again.

    Sears Home Services
I feel their price for a service call and parts is excessive. Maybe it is standard now, but $129 is too much for a retired person on a fixed pension. Also I needed a new lint screen and that was $49. I know that is not their fault and I did get the knowledge that I needed repair of the vent duct (which cost me an additional $450). But the bottom line is that I had a washer, dryer, and refrigerator with minor problems. I spent $178 on a service call and nothing was fixed.
