  • Unique Home Design & Remodeling did an amazing remodeling job at our house by remodeling the kitchen, 2 and a half bathrooms and the replacement of the entire floor. During the work we had few issues with the leveling of the floors (which was before the remodeling), and all of those issues were fixed professionally and accordingly. Their hardworking workers and office staff were excellent people to do the work and to report to us on a daily basis. They didn’t care that our children came up to watch them working and to see what was going on too. We highly recommend them to any family or home owners who are interesting in remodeling any part of their house.

  • We did a 500 square foot room addition on our home and got several bids before choosing to go with Mike Claiborne on the recommendation of someone who had used him for several projects in the past. The addition is now complete and we couldn't be happier with our experience with Mike. He was EXCELLENT and made the process as easy and stress free as possible with such a large scale project. I have worked with other contractors and landscapers, both strangers and friends of the family and Mike Claiborne was by far been my best experience. He is a no-nonsense type of guy who knows his stuff and gets it done quickly. He's been a contractor for over 20 years and it's obvious he takes great pride in his job and his work. Mike is very personable and more importantly, extremely respectful, prompt and he does not cut corners. He's the type that uses very specific sub-contractors that he know and trusts and he has high expectations for them as well. They cleaned up after themselves, they respected my family's space and time and they were fast but thorough. Mike didn't let any of his subs start without being on-site himself. I've hired contractors that I only saw twice, on the first day of the job and the last, but Mike was here every day working alongside his subs and checking their work. When one of his subcontractors couldn't make it, rather than delay the project, he would do it himself. He provided me with a timeline of exactly what would be going on during the project and the duration so I would know what to expect and when. When something changed, he provided me with an updated schedule. I've NEVER heard of a contractor doing that so that actually is what sold me on him in the first place. His bid came in a little bit higher than some of the other ones I received but I am more than certain that he was more cost-effective than going with the others in the end. Even with a slightly higher bid, he was extremely reasonable. He doesn't just throw out an arbitrary dollar amount "per square foot" like some do, he used the approved plans to get materials and labor costs directly from his sub-contractors and truly calculated it all out before giving me a bid so there were no surprises later on. He told me upfront if aspects of what I wanted couldn't be done (and why), and he didn't add charges to my bill unless they were extra things I specifically requested. He issued a change-order for every addition or credit to the bill so I was not surprised by random charges. He was always available when I tried to contact him. I honestly will never use another contractor. Even my two young children loved "Mr. Mike" and still miss seeing him every day!

  • They were able to get out here to do an estimated very promptly. They were delayed because they were backed up to get the work done but that is how it is these days. I don't think they should be dinged for that. They showed up on time, the day that they were supposed to be here.

  • Workers were polite and kept area clean. Materials were good quality. Some minor 'fine-tuning' issues that extended the completion time, but rebath was responsive to our requests to complete to our satisfaction.

  • Great! Everything was done professionally. Mike is an excellent general contractor. Great response to detail. The ability to explain the process when needed. Good team of professionals working with him.

  • It was great working with Bay Easy Construction. The staff were highly professional, knew exactly what needed to be done and took their time to report the progress daily. The entire work was completed by the date that the contractor, Ofer, and the designer, Rebeca, had promised us. We feel we made the right choice and we highly recommend Bay Easy Construction.

  • The services provided were performed efficiently and professionally.  Wesley and Alina are a very personable team that seem to enjoy their profession.  They removed an old fan from the dining room and replaced it with a new fan that was recently purchased.  They assembled the new fan and the installation of the new fan was done very efficiently.  They also replaced the light fixture on the front porch in a very quick and efficient manner.  I highly recommend Alley Electric!

  • The crew, consisting of David, Sammy and Fernando arrived at my house on 8/10/15.  They set up a containment barrier with plastic sheeting on the floors and walls of my hallway.  They then crated a "bathtub" on the floor (which was a second layer of plastic) to hold the acoustic ceiling as it was scrapped off after wetting the ceiling with water.  There was no dust or migration of any of the ceiling matter into our living space.  After taking the acoustic ceiling down David and Sammy then textured the ceiling to match the walls. Before leaving that afternoon they removed the containment and wiped the floor down  so we could have full use of the hallway.
The next day, 8/11/15,  Fernando arrived promptly at 8 AM.  In fact I was on the telephone with Scott Shrader, President of Pacific Drywall, who had called to tell me Fernando would be arriving soon.  Fernando put plastic on the floor again and draped the walls to prevent any paint from getting on the surfaces.  He then sealed the sheetrock with a primer/sealer and then applied one coat of paint.  After the paint dried he removed the plastic sheeting, swept the floors to remove any residue and  reinstalled the light fixtures and smoke and CO detectors on the ceiling.
I am very impressed with the professionalism of Pacific Drywall and Painting especially David, Sammy and Fernando.  I would highly recommend them for any sheetrock or paining needs.

  • The cleanup by Pacific drywall was outstanding. The communication with them was outstanding. My friends and neighbors have had theirs removed and they all say that ours was done well because you don't see any seams, inconsistencies, or indents. I've seen ones that people do themselves or hire an inexperienced person to remove it and it looks bad. The texturing is inconsistent, you can see seams, bulges between drywall boards where settling occurred, and roller marks from painting. I know the price seems like a lot to have it removed but it was well worth the money to have it done right. I look up at my ceiling everyday and it looks great.

  • This is my response to his quote which based on feedback was quite high considering the level of labor and my supplying the materials:

Thank you for your quote - please do not continue on the fireplace quote.

One room is more than what most folks pay to paint a complete house and trim.

Thank you again, but not interested.  Your price is way off scale considering the size of the room.

    regards,

    Owner - 6459 Benecia Ave..

His response which was quite interesting and I found it offensive! - most business owners would call the customer or confirm the response - he did not.

Scott Cole Best of luck to you Jack. Seems like you are used to illegal work and think this is the norm. Best regards, Scott Cole, President/CEO Lin Cole Enterprise Inc. dba CertaPro Painters - Commercial/Reside

SUMMARY: Please note:  Passion and Professionalism - I find this quite perplexing - If I owned a business I'd call each customer to make sure all communications are clear and understood.  I'm questioning the viability of "Angies List" as it takes away from the personalized interaction of contractor to customer  - too detached.  Maybe this process should be reviewed.  Too often contractors charge the correct rates and the crew barely speaks English and need followup phone calls etc....  Top dollar requires top professionalism, personification and timely responses.  Offending customers and distancing himself I find to be key to issues and problems in the future.
