    Owen Builders
Terrible experience. They misrepresented themselves as high end professional contractors who could handle all phases of the job. They gave us a bid of $6,400 to remodel three TV walls and install a video door bell system. We purchased all the equipment needed and the TVs are already wired in their spots, so we were only looking to make the walls more attractive with the wires hidden etc. Don Owen Sr and Don Owen Jr said they could install the video doorbell now but would not be able to do the TV walls for another month. We agreed that if they would install the doorbell now and would wait until August (4 months down the road) to do the TV walls. They said that would be great and assured us our work would take priority. After weeks of waiting we called Don and asked for a time and how much of the bid was for the doorbell. Don told us they would require us to sign for all $6,400 and we ended the conversation asking for a time and cost for the doorbell work. He said he would get back to us, then the next day we get this email < We had other bids that were accepted that was before you so we took those in the order and we're too far out now to do your project sorry for the inconvenience.> This excuse makes no sense since the work on the walls would not start for another 4 months. In hindsight we believe they did not have the skills require to do the doorbell and had been unable to find a sub that could because they had assured us they had the few hours it would take to do the doorbell and the work on the walls was 4 months down the road. Mind you there was no need for them to purchase or do any preparation for the work now or that some four months down the road, we had all the equipment for the doorbell here waiting on them and had agreed to purchase any finish materials when needed to do the walls. . They misrepresented themselves and wasted weeks of our time. We are left now with starting over to find another contractor.

    Berkley Construction Inc
In October of 2014 my father was involved in a Code Enforcement nightmare. He had been submitting plans to the city for months to no avail. I remembered seeing on Facebook that a former classmate of mine owned a Construction Company and placed a phone call to Keith Berkley. I explained the situation and a meeting at my fathers property was arranged.
I was introduced to my project manager Gary Pruett and immediately knew that I was in good hands. After a review of the permit issues and a tour of the units involved they established a game plan and got to work.
What started out as a relatively simple project turned into a larger one due to the building being
built in 1925. I was updated every step of the way, from the framing and stucco of an exterior wall to the pouring of the new floor. They added a handicap bathroom all of which was under the watchful eye of Code Enforcement.
The nightmare is over and I am forever grateful to Berkley Construction. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing work done by a team that is thorough, honest and hardworking- look no more.

    A-Team Residential Remodeling
I come from a household of non-fussy dudes. My dad didn't raise my brother and I to be snobs, and our living standards have always been influenced by his bachelor-minded propensity for function over form. It works up to a point, but as you get older, things change and if you're raised well enough, there comes a time where you need to start thinking about elevating your standards for the better, as I did a year ago, when my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and life around his household started requiring us to really consider the standard of living we want our father to have over the next several years.
So, we took a good look around his condo, and identified some things are in dire need of adjustment to help benefit his well being in addition to protecting my long term sanity as a care taker for however long this journey lasts. He's lived here for almost 24 years, and never bothered with anything beyond a few coats of paint in eccentric color choices. This in mind, the obvious place to start making some meaningful changes was the bathroom, which in addition to looking quite tired, was also becoming a liability for an elderly gentleman whose equilibrium has been affected by his medical condition.
It quickly became imperative to get this project started so I can get my dad a functional restroom he could navigate in comfortably, and I did not feel like trying to shop 4 or 5 contractors just to abate my own personal neuroses about who I felt would best get the job done. Reviews and word of mouth are a pretty good indicator as to what to expect from a company, so I did my proper due diligence through Angie's List, liked the idea of a no non-sense, honest company, checked out Jeff's web site and sent him a message explaining the situation. He called me back within a half hour, we set up a date to have him come check out the facilities. When he got here, I felt that we were both generally on the same page as to what needed to be done in the restroom within 5 minutes, and I appreciated that he made several suggestions off the bat on how to reduce the cost on materials and gave his input on some current design trends that might date the look of our new restroom in a few years. He grabbed some photos, got an estimate out to me within a few days, and I went ahead and pulled the trigger.
Within a couple weeks, Jeff and I had signed a contract, worked out tile selection and set a start date (which turned out to be a month sooner than originally negotiated due to some unexpected juggling in his team's schedule that worked in my favor). He started January 5, and work lasted approx. two weeks. Jeff was onsite every day to check on the status of the project, kept me apprised on any hiccups that may have come about as a result of the design limitations in our space and any crummy work done by subcontractors brought on for building-wide maintenance projects sponsored by our HOA in past years. He was also very complimentary on my choice in materials and colors, and kept me reassured throughout the whole process. The crew cleaned up after themselves every day, was extremely courteous and punctual and demonstrated wonderful respect and tact with my dad, who sometimes likes to Supervise.
I told Jeff early on that taking a dump is serious business in our house of dudes, and as the project went along, I did end up ponying up for some more premium appointments in the room that ended up driving up the original projected cost of the entire project. But the end result is that we now have very awesome looking restroom built for my dad that looks very modern, very appealing, and provides him with the maneuverability and accessibility that he needs at this time in his life. And most of all, it's constructed with an aesthetic and at a standard that he and any decent father would be deserving of a hundred times over.
I'm very much looking forward to having Jeff back in a few months to start working on the kitchen, in addition to other rooms in the house to help round out this monster that was born in the Throne Room. I appreciate all your hard work, Jeff! Talk soon.
