  • Unfortunately this install went poor.  This is my second install with Baker Electric.  First one went flawless.  This is our second house.  For background we recommended them to 5 others which we made significant referral fees from so I do not write this negative review lightly.  This second install which cost 1.5 x the price of the first.  When told would take 4-6 months it now is 9 months out. Reasons for delay: did not find septic system to county (which Baker did finally pay for, positive), had to relocate inverters, did not have subpanel placed, did not have upgrade panel when SCE came to turn off electricity, failed county inspection, and completed wrong program application for SCE and had to redo at end of install (BTW this application is the one of the first things done early in process).  I was willing to forgive because sales person was very responsive to each complaint and we finally got turned on 4 days ago.  However last straw is that now our system doesn't produce the electricity expected.  Even sunpower monitoring program tells us there is a problem with panel and our project manager tellsa us everything is ok and is asking for our final payment.  Not sure what to do....

  • We sold our home with a Solar City leased system back in July 2014. It worked for us at the time, but decided to purchase a solar system for our new home in Murrieta. I interviewed eight separate companies. Having a good baseline of solar knowledge, I was surprised at how many reps were just trying to make a sale and had very little solar knowledge. I was pleasantly surprised when Daren showed up! We talked a lot about solar and all of the processes that go along with it. Daren not only knows solar but has had it himself for 15+ years. It was obvious he has a passion for solar and was interested in designing a system for our needs - not his wallet. 

    We were able to get an earlier install than initially scheduled. Brandon and his crew were polite and professional. They all worked hard and know what they're doing. Scott (the owner) was out on the site a few times to make sure everything was running smooth. He is also a great resource of knowledge for solar information as he has been in the business 28 years.

    The price? Not only were they the best price with all of the quotes we received, but they had the most financing options. We ended up paying cash because that's what worked best for us, but I was impressed with the 5 other options they gave us.

    So the part of the 5 stars is "Does the company deliver on what was promised?'
    The answers is YES! 
    I've had the system for over a year now. I was told the system would produce approximately 12,500 KwH annually. In one year the system produced 14,200 KwH. No one can predict a system's production to an exact number because of all of the factors, but New Day Solar did a great job with estimating for our needs. 

    I absolutely recommend New Day Solar for everyone's solar needs. We could not be happier!

  • The company was notified by the electric company on at least 3 times to send ONE PIECE of paper so they, the electric company could complete their inspection.   The electric company contacted us twice  to obtain the needed info.  It took many calls and yelling at Solar City to get the problem corrected.  They also sent us an attachment for our computer so Solar City could monitor.  The first component did not work.  Also no instructions were provided.  The Second component worked, but instructions were also not provided.  We had asked twice for instructions.  This company is very segmented.  One section does not know what the other section is doing.    They also contacted us saying we owed $20,00.  We told them we probably owed $40.00.  Oh no they said only twenty.  We paid the twenty, and low and  behold we were told we owed an additional twenty, and we paid.  On another occasion ., we were called to see why we had not attached their component to our computer, and were told we still owed $20.00
    All and all we had a terrible experience with this company and would NEVER recommend them to anyone./

  • all phases of the job went very well. i was completely impressed by this company. installation crew was pleasant and they worked very fast to get the job done. I am very satisfied with all aspects of this company. i am enjoying the solar and we could not be happier. the power on team (Jaymes Ruiz)  came back out couple months later and showed me exactly house the system works and how much i am producing.

  • RGS Energy failed to respond to our warranty claim and service requirement.  After two weeks of calls, e-mails and promises for follow up from sales executives, RGS Energy's customer service group failed to perform.  We finally resorted to an alternate service provider and I will never again use or recommend RGS Energy.  It is a shame that RGS Energy failed to live up the the warranty commitments they acquired when they bought Carlson Solar.  RGS Energy is a prime example of a company that is looking to sell you solar energy products but fails to perform when it comes to service and warranty repairs.
