    Wise Builders
I decided on Wise Builders to remodel the master bathroom after meeting with several potential contractors. Once work started, I felt comfortable with Wise Builders to deliver on design and construction that I added the other 1.5 bathrooms to the project. Nathan (project manager) and team (Jesus, Manny, Edgar, etal.) were professional, courteous, and conscientious. Nathan took the time to understand my vision, and his design sense was very helpful as I made decisions about finish materials. Throughout the project, Nathan was extremely communicative - always kept me informed on what was going on, what to expect next, and when I had any tasks. Nathan was my go-to person when any issues/concerns arose; he listened and promptly addressed any matters. Thank you for transforming the outdated spaces into beautiful bathrooms!

    Wise Builders
Nestor and his team recently remodeled my bathroom. I wanted something more luxury and was ready to pay more. I also asked some other contractors but wasn't satisfied with their answers. Nestor explained me at the start the whole project process, possible issues, when would be finished and some other things. He updated me all the time during the project and was very helpful with his suggestions. His workers were also great. They finished bathroom within scheduled time and the result was, what can I say, just perfect! Highest recommendation for Nestor and Wise Builders!

The Kitchen and Bath Company of Palo Alto
It went great, all things considered. Tim is a very nice, honest man, and he was true to his word. All told we replaced two windows, installed lighting and ventilation through the roof, tiled the floor, added new tiling in the master shower, new fancy glass door, new drain pipe down to the crawl space for the second sink in the master bath (the original drain was not to code for all three sinks up stairs) new fancy vanities from Wayfair, new mirrors and medicine cabinets, and toilet in the guest bathroom, and associated fixtures. He provided a detailed spreadsheet listing all (predictable) expenses ahead of time. I am an absentee landlord and worked with me remotely and my tenants who were minimally disrupted. He handled all permits and inspections. I trusted him to select various materials as much as I could, largely based on previous Angies List reviews. THANK YOU! Of course, it was very expensive, but I understand (1) California Bay Area labor is expensive and (2) I needed someone I could trust to do the work right, and I was willing to pay for that.

    LAR Construction & Remodeling
LAR Construction remodeled our kitchen and we are very satisfied with their work. They were very honest about everything, very communicative and respectful. They were also very quick, managed to finish remodeling within 5 weeks which was a week earlier from promised time. There wasn't surprises about final price, it was same as we agreed at the start of the project. The rest of the house was clean all the time and all workers were really great, they did everything for our satisfaction and now we have a new beautiful kitchen. Thank you, I will recommend!

    Future Vision Remodeling
I interviewed several contractors based on reviews on Angie's List, Yelp, and Home Advisor, and while the bids were similar, I selected Future Vision because I felt that Guy really listened to what I wanted and responded to that. Throughout the remodel he always gave me choices and helped me think through what I wanted, and never tried to sell me something different. I had everything taken out down to the studs, and new floor and shower tile, new vanity, toilet, shower, lights, fixtures, etc. I especially love the tile on the shower floor and in the niche, which is made of small stones cut off flat. The overall process took about six weeks, but I had let them know I wasn't in a hurry; some of the delays were due to my needing to make a choice, and some due to waiting for required city inspections. Throughout the remodel the whole team kept in contact with What's App, and that worked really well.

The Kitchen and Bath Company of Palo Alto
I did a complete kitchen remodel which included a wall removal. The renovation was on a very tight timeline. Remodeling is a two way street, you need to be be on top of your action items as is the contractor. Tim was very professional and a great contractor to work with, there were no surprises and everything was completed on-time and on schedule. If I have another remodeling or construction job, I will go with Tim; he is the best.

    Monteiro Tile, Inc.
I don't write a lot of reviews, but when I find a really good contractor, I like to give a helping hand to meritocracy. I feel fortunate to have found Monteiro tiling for my kitchen and entryway tiling work. I played GC for my remodel. The owner was really straightforward to deal with and was willing to come on a Saturday at a last moment notice to estimate. His manner was to the point, no overselling, no acting. Simple answers, professional and trustworthy, and gave me a lot of confidence. He answered all my questions and I got a sense of someone willing to adjust and accommodate. Price was competitive with other counter bids. I hired them on the spot, as I had an urgency as well and trust was built quickly. Fortunately, they were willing to work the weekend before the installation, to help me out. In the week prior to the installation, I had an urgent text request at 9 pm during the week that affected cabinet heights. They responded. I may have called them a couple of times and the company always picked up or called back, and satisfied my queries. When they picked up my tiles from the shop, they confirmed back to me by text. When they were running a little late, they texted me their ETA. All examples of thoughtful customer service. I was at my residence through much of the installation process. The company owner did the installation himself. When they arrived, they weren't planning on putting a membrane. I was concerned that the concrete floor cracks may be bad for the pricey ceramic wood tiles in the future. The owner sensed my unease and made an additional trip to Home Depot to put a membrane before starting. Accommodating is so much better than rigid, especially when the customer is the GC and isn't an expert. They wanted to put random pattern, but I preferred less than 8". They agreed. They did 1/16" grout joints, which was better than I expected. Instead of just ripping out the leftover baseboard in one area to get their way, they called me to ask. Very good. The outcome couldn't be better. See photos. Lots of attention to detail. I think they might have cherrypicked specific tiles that continued the wooden heartwood pattern across tiles. They cleaned up each day, and on completion, they also cleaned up the dust in the common area walkway of the residential condominium. What could be improved? They should provide customers a more detailed write up of what to expect, prior to arrival. The company may have the skills and knowledge to do the work right, but some customers want the comfort of reading details. Advice for customers : these guys know what they are doing and I can see that they take pride in their quality of work, so you might get a better result getting out of their way. Sometimes I micromanage. In their case, I believed. Of course, always ask your questions/concerns for your own curiosity. I will hire them again for a kitchen backsplash job assuming a competitive price. Ok, that was longer review than I thought it would be. :)

Walther's Carpet One Floor & Home
Awful store owners. They kept raising the price on the flooring after we picked what we wanted and lied about the markup. Then, they forced us to go to San Jose to pick up the materials. They also kicked our contractor out of the store. Also, they are incompetent installers. Avoid this store like the plague!

    Pacific Construction & Design
We found Pacific construction and design while they were working on a remodeling project in another house on the neighborhood. During that work, I approached the supervisor Joseph and we asked him to see the work. After we saw what did do and how beautiful it is, we asked him to pass by our house and to see what we want to do and to give us a quote for the work. We wanted to remodel the kitchen and bathroom and also to paint the entire house. Joseph came over and saw our house. He then went back to his office and did his homework including a 3D design. Dew days after, he called us and set an additional meeting with us to show us his ideas and prices. The remodeling project started a week after we agreed and signed all the documents and it took them less than a month to complete it. Joseph did a wonderful work and he was able to implement most of the things we wanted. The kitchen came out beautiful and very functional while the bathroom got his new look and design. The final touch was the paint of the house which gave us a brand new look of the entire house. The whole remodeling was done in a very professionally manner. Joseph put a lot of attention to all the details of the work. Thanks to Joseph and entire crew that worked including the office staff for making our house look great!

    Bay Bathrooms and Kitchens
Excellent Find, Highly Recommended We fully endorse Bay Bathrooms & Kitchens! From the beginning, its owner Tom Todd and journeyman Felipe took the reigns of our bathroom remodel project. To start, Tom prepared estimates that were built from a vision of our bathrooms style, budget, and needs for my disability as well as meeting code regulations. With his book of photos of hardware and material; we literally could visualize our options and price points. He took the time to explain issues, concerns, warranties, and questions in laymans terms. From the moment we accepted his estimate, Tom and company owned the project completely. He communicated throughout the project, oversaw the timing and usage of subcontractors, helped us pass strict city inspections, and troubleshoot and bring up to code unexpected issues caused by un-permitted projects by prior owners. He gave advanced notice of when key decisions were needed to be made by us to stay on track (e.g paint and hardware selection). Tom sequenced the small jobs that make up the big job perfectly. During the entire process, Felipe was at the job site everyday, on-time reporting issues and advancing the projects progress each day. He always spent a significant amount of time on building prep and ended the day with thorough clean-up; ensuing the house was left clean and in useable/ live-able condition. Tom always began the day with, What are your concerns? What questions can we address for you? Mainly he was present in-person; he was always reachable1. Tom continually helped us make decisions efficiently; keeping in mind our initial vision and budget, actively narrowing our choices to what was most feasible to keep us on schedule and successful. Overall, we found the remodel project of our bathrooms night and day from 10 years ago. Tom and Felipe were very friendly, and personable. They blended into our familys needs, lifestyle and schedule; they indulged the curiosity of our 6 year old and coddled our sick, anxious Yorkie. We never found ourselves feeling uncomfortable; their meticulousness and attention to detail was, in a word, reassuring. From beginning to end, we were satisfied. We trusted Bay Bathrooms & Kitchens, their suppliers, and subcontractors. They looked after our home like it was their own, when we werent present. Bay Bathrooms & Kitchens did an amazing job, kept their promises, and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Most importantly, they accommodated for my disability throughout, working around my doctors appointments and physical therapy. Our bathrooms were remodeled in as little as two weeks and are in our opinion are very Pinterest worthy; we definitely would use them again in the future!
