Mountain View Cabinet Makers Reviews

"This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had with remodeling. Rather than go into great depth of detail for all of the issues for the >6 month project, here is a summary of what went wrong: - Cabinets delivered late, not put together - Painting was sub-par. No sanding of material initially or between coats; All surfaces very rough. - After painting, all drawer fronts were found not to be square. - Cabinets installed were not level; Thus, countertops not level either. - Granite was partially installed & fabricated, then sub-contractor he hired held granite for ransom. Police became involved. - Had to drive to Roseville to pick up hardware that was promised but never delivered. - Every subcontractor and even himself complained that they did not have enough gas money to get to Napa. - Project was supposed to take ~2 months. After 6 months, finally gave up and hired a furniture repair company to complete the cabinets, a painting company to re-do the complete paint job, and granite contractor to complete the installation. This guy advertises on craigslist, clearly has the skills to build cabinets, but is so financially crooked that he underbids jobs, collects the money, and never completes them. There are MANY people we've discovered that have suffered the same fate. In addition, I'm told by more than one of his "staff" that he rarely pays them. Overall, avoid this contractor since you won't get a high-quality product, and may be stuck without a kitchen for a long time."

"
Mountain View Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
gave us a competitive bid on a fairly comprehensive job. They seemed rather qualified and were helpful with on-the-spot design. After the down-payment things went downhill. The job was actually started 2 months later. After demolition of our entire kitchen, we were essentially left in a construction zone for half a year without appliances or even basic kitchen functionality. CBD did not respond to most phone or email messages. In the end, they tried to rush the job and cut some corners. When they are actually there, they are very friendly. The cabinets look great - but I would most definitively NOT recommend CBD to anyone"

"Cabinets were nice on the front, and if they do the installation, you won't have a problem like I did. They sent me some that were damaged. They were not responsive in taking care of the matter but as usual tried to blame my contractor. I don't like being called a liar, so I have given them until next week to have replacements here or I will pursue my remedies. Keep your cabinet maker close to you. They don't look in their packages before they ship so they don't know themselves if their units are damaged. They try to implement clauses that are not in their written agreement like saying you only have 2 weeks to go through them. That is ok if you devote your every working moment to assembling the cabinets. It is not if you have other work to do before you get to that part. Looks like we'll be in small claims next week after dodging me for a month."

"They firm was very competitive in their price. For the workmanship it was very low pricing. I was thrilled with the finished job. Workers were friendly and if an error was made it was corrected with out any fuss or extra cost."
