  • Micheal arrived on time. He came into kitchen, I explained the problem that the water and ice maker were not working. He said. I can tell you it is fixed already. I didn't understand. He said to me "unlock the dispenser". I did and the ice and water machine worked. I said to him, "Oh my goodness...Wow...this is crazy...This must have been the easiest job for you". His irate response to me was that he has never had an "easy" job, told me about his college education, which was not applicable...he was mad. I said, "Are you still going to charge me for this visit? He said, "YES". It took me $60.00 dollars to get here...I totally understand that he drove to see me...I contacted this company because they marketed themselves as being in Moorpark-meaning the company was local which is the only reason why I contacted the company. I felt because he was going to charge me-I asked him about my microwave...he said...that's another $45.00 dollars. At this point his tone and attitude were not professional and I wanted him out of my house. I believe he could have said-I will not charge you the $45.00, I didn't do anything....or explained to me in a nicer manner that he drove out and he still needed to charge the service call fee, but would charge me a discounted rate less than the 45.00 dollars. What you need to know is this man was Rude, Crude, Mean and Disrespectful with his attitude towards me from the moment he walked in my door. I will never, ever, ever hire this company again....and I would encourage you to think twice before you contact American West Appliance and Repair.

  • Benton's Plumbing is now United Plumbing and while Benton's came highly recommended, United Plumbing is not on the same level. I called them to come out and fix a leaking toilet. The receptionist, Nancy, was friendly and helpful and called a few times to confirm the appointment. Since I work full time, I had my mom at my house to let them in. The technician took a look at the problem and went outside for what seemed like a long time to my mom, but came back and replaced the tank-to-bowl kit and the flapper. He didn't communicate the problem to her or give her an estimate of the cost. An hour and a half later, he gave her a bill of $342.50. She told him, if I knew it would cost that much, I would have bought a new toilet. He charged $192.50 for 90 minutes labor (much of the time was spent getting basic parts which he should have had on his truck and talking on the phone), $25 for the flapper (fine) and $125 for the tank to bowl kit, a part which retails for $8-$25. I called the company to question them on the cost. Nancy listened to me and said she would talk to the plumber and get back to me. A few weeks went by and I hadn't heard anything. I called again. Nancy told me she had talked to the manager and he agreed to give me a $50 credit on my next service. I told her that wasn't acceptable because my mom had paid for the service and I wanted her to give her the money. Who knows when I would need plumbing again? (And, after this experience I certainly have no intention of using them.) Also, interestingly, she mentioned the person who performed the service for me was no longer with the company! She said she would talk to the manager again and get back to me. Another week has gone by, and I have heard nothing. To top it all off, the part they used is really cheap. The handle is very loose and you have to hold it down for a few seconds to get the toilet to flush. Benton's reputation has been flushed down the toilet by United Plumbing.

  • 8/27/17 Had a new hot water heater installed. Installation went fine and quality of product so far as been okay. Biggest complaint is with the customer service we received and the length of time to get the issue resolved. 10/24/17 Still had not received the permit. Contacted the company and a copy was emailed. 1026/17 City Inspector came to the residence. The inspection failed due to the insulation not done to code. A copy of the correction notice stating the problem was sent to the company. 11/7/17 Appointment set-up to make the correction. Around mid-morning my husband received a message at work that our appointment was cancelled because we could not be reached. When I contacted the “Supervisor” I was told they tried my cell phone but kept getting an error message. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my phone. When I asked if they could still come that day, I was told the best they could do was the following week on 11/15/17. 11/14/17 Because of the previous week “mix-up” I called late afternoon to confirm the appointment. After being on hold for several minutes, the “Supervisor” told me they were not keeping the appointment because the Field Service Supervisor deemed the city code to be a fire hazard. 11/15/17 After leaving 2 messages for the Field Supervisor, my husband finally spoke to him. He stated his reasons for not doing the insulation to code and said he would contact the city inspector to get the matter resolved. 12/7/17 Called for an update bunt nothing had been resolved with the city. 12/18/17 Received message from the company that our original permit had been returned because the address was incorrect and could I please call and give them the correct address. When I called back the number that was left turned out to be a locksmith company. I tried the number that the call was made from (Seattle area code) but it was a number that could not receive calls. 12/18/17 Still no response or update. Called the Field Supervisor again and his suggestion was that we contact the city inspector ourselves. 12/18/17 Spoke to the Senior City Inspector and received an email citing the code violations. He said the city could not intervene, but suggested that we file a complaint with the CSLB if the company refused to make the corrections. I contacted the company and they finally agreed to make the corrections. 12/27/17 The corrections were made and on 12/28/17 the city inspector signed the permit.

  • I had Claudio previously install a water heater, fix a irrigation pipe leak, and install a kitchen faucet. This time, I asked for his help selecting the correct bathroom sink faucets and shower head and faucets for upstairs bathroom. As it turned out the ones I had initially selected were not compatible with the hardware that came with the house. He guided me and made recommendations which were very helpful in ensuring that I would be happy with what got installed, which I was. In addition to being an excellent plumber, Claudio is a very nice guy and easy to work with. Highly Recommended!!

  • I called Sam at Valley United Plumbing many times to do different works around the house, from re-piping the two bathrooms with tub and faucet installation, install faucet in the kitchen, installing water filtration system, replacing the pressure regulator (15 years old), replacing my main water line. Also, he installed gas safety switch in case of an earthquake. Sam always does a great job every time. Besides, he always shows up on time and does a clean work. I'm a very satisfied customer. It was a pleasure working with Sam. He returned my call quickly, and setting up a time for the work was easy. His charges were reasonable. He was courteous and professional. I highly recommend using him!

  • Richard returned my initial VM and was able to schedule very promptly on a Saturday in December which another plumber I had used was unable to do, so I was very happy about that. While he did arrive about 30-40 minutes late, he texted me before his scheduled arrival time to let me know that he was enroute, so no big deal for me. His demeanor was very pleasant and friendly while being professional at all times. At one point, Richard made a good suggestion which was to replace the sink faucets with polished chrome faucets which would match everything else instead of brushed nickel faucets. This necessitated him having to come back the next weekend which he was able to schedule no problem. Overall, I'm very happy with the work that he did. He cleaned up his work area leaving it as he had found it, if not even cleaner. While his $110 hourly rate was a bit more than other plumbers have charged me, I was happy that he was able to perform the work so well and at a date/time that accommodated my busy schedule. I would definitely consider using him again.

  • I replaced both the hot and cold water valves under my kitchen sink myself. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the cold water from continuing to leak so I called Caravaggio Plumbing. He came in, replaced the cold water valve and stopped the leak. He said that since he was there, he wanted to know if he could redo the hot water valve just to be sure it wouldn't leak later which he did at no additional cost. As far as scheduling goes, we had a time set but he couldn't make because he was taking longer at his earlier appointment. On the plus side, he did text me to keep me informed at to when he would get to my house. Overall, I would give him an A rating and would certainly call him again.

  • Larry and his coworker arrived within about an hour of being called. Water heater was professionally replaced. They were professional and personable and finished up in less than 2 hours. Cleaned up work area and removed old water heater.

  • We ended up deciding to do both the driveway and backyard and since there is no easy access to the back - a huge part of the work was physically demanding of Johns employees - lots and lots of wheel barrel trips.. The project required big dumpsters for the removal of concrete both front and back and lots of soil from moving a slope back - they were removed promptly - often the same day they arrived. The crew always cleaned up before they left. I can't believe how nice our yard turned out within the estimate and in the time quoted.

  • We hired this company to remodel our 3 bathrooms (our master bathroom, kids bathroom). The work was done within a month and Beni was the supervisor of this project. We were very happy with his work, communication skills and honesty. We will hire this company in the future. The master bathroom included our bathtub and shower system that included 6 jets and rain shower while the bath tub was a Jacuzzi. Beni helped us to purchase the materials via his vendors. during the work, there were man people working at the same time so the remodeling project will finish fast. Beni came over each day to see what has been done and that there were no mistakes in any of the tasks.
