  • Micheal arrived on time. He came into kitchen, I explained the problem that the water and ice maker were not working. He said. I can tell you it is fixed already. I didn't understand. He said to me "unlock the dispenser". I did and the ice and water machine worked. I said to him, "Oh my goodness...Wow...this is crazy...This must have been the easiest job for you". His irate response to me was that he has never had an "easy" job, told me about his college education, which was not applicable...he was mad. I said, "Are you still going to charge me for this visit? He said, "YES". It took me $60.00 dollars to get here...I totally understand that he drove to see me...I contacted this company because they marketed themselves as being in Moorpark-meaning the company was local which is the only reason why I contacted the company. I felt because he was going to charge me-I asked him about my microwave...he said...that's another $45.00 dollars. At this point his tone and attitude were not professional and I wanted him out of my house. I believe he could have said-I will not charge you the $45.00, I didn't do anything....or explained to me in a nicer manner that he drove out and he still needed to charge the service call fee, but would charge me a discounted rate less than the 45.00 dollars. What you need to know is this man was Rude, Crude, Mean and Disrespectful with his attitude towards me from the moment he walked in my door. I will never, ever, ever hire this company again....and I would encourage you to think twice before you contact American West Appliance and Repair.

  • When I called this business they made an appointment for someone to come out the very next day. The serviceman was on time. He was professional, honest and informative throughout. He fixed the machine in a short time and charged me fairly, giving me the Angie's List discount. I recommend this service and would not hesitate to have them back again.

  • It could not have gone better. First of all he arrived at the early part of the time window given. He got right to work after I described the problem.  Once he pinpointed the exact problem. he told me what the exact cost would be to do the repair. He had the part on his truck, went outside to retrieve it, came back in and installed it and put it all back together tested it and it worked perfectly. He cleaned up the area when he was finished and wrote up the invoice I presented him with the Big Deal Certificate I had purchased online for $25.00 that was good for a $50.00 discount which he promptly took off the total.  it was around 275.00 before the discount and 225.00 after all in,  This is the second time I have used this company for a repair ( the washing machine was the first )  They are number one on my list. Thank you Angies List.

  • the service was the second time around fixing my refrigerator.  I suspect that first time was not done correctly and the same repairmen was send to fix my refrigerator the second time.  The second time the repairmen performed the same service as before, but this time he did it right.  I suspect that the repairmen did it right the second time, because he got caught not fixing it correctly the first time. AAA stood by and took corrective action towards the repairmen it is because of their actions to take corrective action that I am recommending them.

  • Great!  Gary came out and identified the problem, then immediately got pricing for the part.  He had to order the part, and I was concerned about the timing of the repair, as I had to leave town that weekend, and I needed to do laundry!  He managed to expedite the part, and returned two days later to fix it.  He came out to do the repair from out of the area (I live in Ventura county) at the end of the workday, as he knew I was anxious to get it fixed.

  • Scheduling was good and they were very prompt.  The first repair attempt was not successful but they came back, at an additional charge, to fix it again. For the second visit they brought the unit back with them to the shop to repair.  It has been working fine since.

  • He replaced the needed part and it is working great. In doing the repairs, it was necessary to remove it from the wall and the hood. It was all done efficiently and reassembled in a very professional manner. It was evident that the repair man knew his job well, with no wasted motion. Very happy with this company

  • The service representative turned up within the 2 hour window as promised.  My 9 year old LG washing machine was not draining.  He knew what the problem was, had the replacement Drain Pump part in his truck and was able to repair it immediately.  The machine is running well and the cost of repair far our ways what it would have been to purchase a new one.   I would recommend this company to a friend.

  • The technician arrived an hour earlier then they said he could be there. He immediately diagnosed the problem, replaced the two parts and finished up. It took no more than 20 minutes. The price was initially $350 but he said there was a 20% discount for Angie's List customers so the final price was $280 plus tax. The problem was fixed but the cost was out of line with the parts installed and time spent. After some discussion, we agreed on a price ($200) that was more in line with the time spent and parts installed. I called this company assuming from the address and phone number it was a local Ventura county company, but the receipt I got is for Nationwide Appliance Repair from Studio City.

  • Jim was prompt and very courteous. He asked specific questions about the problem I was having with my oven. Then he took it apart reviewing the specific issues. Jim explained the part that needed to be replaced on my 20 year old stove, what it did and the cost.  I had considered buying a new stove recently, but I am glad I had the "old workhorse" repaired. Jim had the part in his van and was very professional. I asked him to take a look at my Kenmore washer - spin cycle on one setting is hinky. We filled it up with some water and briefly ran the spin cycle. Then Jim got down on the floor, lifted the washer and spotted the problem - oil beginning to slowly leak onto clutch. He stated that it was an expensive repair and I would be better off replacing the 14 year old washer when it finally stops spinning. No charge to diagnose the washer problem.
