  • PLEASE READ AND DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! My backyard job was supposed to be minimum of two months work!!! Or at least that's what the owner, Eddie the owner told us verbally since he did not put beginning and end date on our contract! As of now, it's been five months and my backyard is still not done!!!!! 😳😳😱😱 He lies, manipulates, doesn't come on time, he lags with his job, subcontractors and supply, he records your property without your knowledge🙄🙄 he puts words in your mouth, he does not follow the contract, he has people sign contract without beginning and a date for his convenience!! Be aware when you sign a contract with this guy!!! If you want your work to be done on time, just don't deal with him otherwise you're going to end up doing half of the job yourself that you already paid for!! If anyone doubts my words, I have pictures, I have proof of receipts that I have paid things out of my pocket, like cleaning my back yard debris In order to have my backyard clean. SO BE SMART AND DON'T DEAL WITH THIS GUY!!! I am going to post this every site possible for awareness!!!!!!

  • Excellently. Rudy and his crew did everything we asked within two days. His team is neat, clean and courteous. Rudy made sure that we were totally satisfied with his work and that our expectations were met [exceeded]. Rudy is prompt and courteous and he responds to phone calls and email messages in a timely fashion.

  • I wasn't happy with it, and I had to have them back out a couple of times. It is not a big deal, it happened a year ago. I paid them cash $1000, I paid them a check and they said they never got the check, I had to send them copies of the check. Their accounting department leaves a little to be desired. I wasn't happy with the work and the aftermath. I would not use them again.

  • Octavio was very responsive and helpful. He did everything he told me he would do. He was prompt in returning my calls and showed up on time. His workers did a good job in trimming the trees and in the clean up. Unfortunately my neighbor's tangerine tree was damaged when a branch fell on it. Octavio apologized and my neighbor will be compensated.

  • Paul called me after I contacted him via email through his website about my interest in having artificial turf for my front lawn.  I was tried of watering the front lawn and with California's current drought situation, going with artificial turf seemed like a good idea.  Plus I got approved for $2 per sq ft to change out my front lawn to an artificial one.  We met on a Sat morning at my house to go over the type of artificial grass Paul could provide.  Paul took measurements of my front lawn and told me he would have a quote to me within a couple of days.  After receiving the quote and comparing it to another company, I decided to go with Paul.  We arranged to have it installed on 9/2 and Paul arrived as promised.  His crew did an exception job removing my old yellow/brown lawn.  My new artificial lawn looks fantastic and people driving my my house during the installation process stopped by to check it out.  After they were done, the crew did a great job of cleaning up the mess.  I am a very happy customer and I am glad to come home each day from work to a nice green looking front lawn.  I would recommend Paul to my family and friends in a heart beat.  Paul was punctual and answer my emails and phone calls in a timely manner.  Thanks Paul!

  • I would never recommend Tip Top Builders. Here?s why:
    1.
On the first day of demolition of my small 5?x12?
bathroom, the foreman of my project(Giovanni) had no idea what part of my
bathroom to demo. He didn?t tell his crew what to demo or where to demo. They
had to ask me to show them because, ?he said he didn?t know.?
    2.
During the demo, their crew smashed 2 holes
through my bathroom walls that allowed me to shake hands with my kids as they
stood outside.? Part of the demo?, Reggie said.
    3.
After we did the demo, it was decided that I needed
some new beams in my floor. Ok. Because I had a negative experience on the
first day Reggie ( the salesman) said I would only have to pay for the
materials. $500. No problem. I paid ahead time and floor construction ended up
    being (4) 2?x12?s. That was $500?
    4.
During the first week of my BR project, everyone
(Giovanni, Reggie, their minions) told me inspection would be Friday. It seemed
like a long way off considering my BR is small. 5?x12?. During this time, my
floor was wide open and I could see down into the dirt under my house! I have 1
bathroom and am a single father with 2 kids that are 4&6. My son and I were
peeing into the dirt under my house. I had to take my daughter to the McD?s up
the street. They never brought me a porta-potty, but kept saying after the
inspection they would be able to hook up the toilet. Thank God it was scheduled
for Friday because taking both kids to McD?s at bedtime was getting old. So was
asking my kids to ?hold it? until we got to school. Or holding my sons hand at
2am so he could pee and not fall into to void in my BR floor.
    5.
On Friday, the inspector didn?t show up. When I called
Giovanni I got no answer. When I called Reggie, he said ?the inspection is
scheduled for next Tuesday.? That?s not what you said yesterday or the day
before or the day before or the first day on construction! ?I could?nt call to
set it up, if your BR was not ready.? Whoa! All week you said, it was Friday.
WTH! ?I didn?t call to set it up until Wednesday?, Reggie said. Why have you
been saying Friday?! ?You must have gotten confused?, he replied. Yesterday
everyone said it was tmrw! ?I guess it was a miscommunication.? Seriously?!
    6.
I had another contractor working on my kitchen
and the crew from Tip Top couldn?t get in contact with their foreman (Giovanni)
to answer questions on the job. They ended up asking the foreman of the OTHER
contractor questions because TTB?s foreman wasn?t responding. Seriousy?! I
guess I wasn?t the only one who couldn?t get him on the phone!
    7.
After I called Gio and got no answer, I made
them put wood planks over the abyss in my bathroom and temporaily installed my
toilet. No BR over the weekend with 2 little ones? Are you crazy?! The toilet
leaked the entire weekend all over the place and made it incredibly slippery
for the kids. We went to a hotel.
    8.
Over the weekend, I did research on the city
codes. TTB was missing some critical componets to pass. I texted Reggie to let
him know. ?Hey, you need to secure the pipes to the beams and install / prove
the tub can hold water.? I said. They came at 3pm on Monday, were here for 20
minutes to fix the issues. Reggie challenged my info. My GF works in the city
and she said I would probably fail, I told him. ? We can?t fail on Tuesday. I
need my BR.? Why did he not know this?
    9.
We failed the inspection! The inspector came out
and Reggie got into an argument with the person from the city. The bath tub was
just unpackaged and not installed. It couldn?t hold water because they never
installed it after all. But that?s not why we failed. We failed because his
foreman (Giovanni) did not leave the city permit at the my house. He took it
with him in his car, IDK why, and didn?t leave it at the site. That?s pretty
basic! Why did he not leave it?! Why are you taking it home with you?! So we
failed because, Giovanni was a space cadet and was unaware that he had to leave
    it at the job site. Who, by the way I could never get ahold of, or even better;
I didn?t even know his name until this episode! His name is Giovanni.
    10.
When Reggie stepped out during the inspection to
buy Giovanni some time, the contractor looked at me and said, ?Are these guys
for real?! Why are they your contractor? These guys don?t know what they?re
doing and if I were you I?d fire them.?
    11.
When we failed, my project turned into a basic
7-10 project into a 3 week horror! My BR is 5?x12? it shouldn?t take 3 weeks.
    12.
After I fired them, I had another team step in.
I had to pay an additional $2k for the other team to fix Tip Top?s mistakes.
Holes in walls, busted outlet in my kids room (IDK why they did that), sistering
and adding beams to reinforce the floor, fixing their electrical mess and
removing the old toilet pipe that was sticking out of my wall that they never removed!
    13.
When Reggie came to my house to discuss a settlement.
I told him I was beyond mad and it cost me more money and time to fix his mess.
I can?t wait to tell Angies List. ?Go ahead. I can explain away everything you
will write. No big deal. These reviews are not even important and I wont lose
any money. If you complain to CSLB (contractor state license board) or BBB, it
will take forever for them to investigate and we?ll probably not even get in
trouble anyway. By the way, you owe me money for the project because I spent
more money on your project than you paid.?

We are going to test his theory about Angie?s
List and the CSLB and BBB. I wonder what will happen?

Bottom line: In my opinion Tip Top Builders
is unprofessional. Tip Top Builders is unknowledgeable. Tip Top Builders is
unreliable. Tip Top Builders are grossly negligent and derelict. Do not use
    them.

  • I called Conrad for an appointment on a Tuesday and we agreed he would come out on Friday at noon.  He called me on
Friday at 10:30 am to tell me he'd be about an hour later.  He showed up exactly an hour later as he said he would.  He
ran all systems on our sprinkler system and noted that 2 sprinkler heads were not functioning properly as well as one
of the valves(it didn't work at all). He had the new valve with him, but needed to go to Home Depot to get the sprinkler heads.
He left and returned about 45 minutes later and changed out the sprinkler heads.  He charged $120.00 for the new brass
valve and the 2 new sprinkler heads, and for reprogramming system as I had requested.  I felt that Conrad's price was
reasonable and he did everything I asked of him.  He is very professional, punctual, and friendly. I would certainly use him for
any other irrigation or landscaping needs in the future.

  • I was very pleased with their work.  It went really well.  They laid out a good plan and they followed the plan.  They were on budget and if there were any changes, they let me know up ahead whenever there were things they discovered.  Since we didn't want to do over budget they gave me alternatives that I could choose from.  The company is well managed and they are truthful.  They were pretty much on time.  I actually still use them once in a while to have them come in and clear my trees.  There are a little on the high end but I think it is worth it.  I would rather pay a little bit more and have the good service.  What they gave me was a fair price.  Another thing that I really like about this company is that when I call them and the person that I wanted to talk to wasn’t there, they always get back to me within a day.  There are so many vendors that if we call, we never hear from them again or they never get back to us for two or three weeks but they are really prompt.  I'm very happy with this company.  If I have to have my trees done again that's who I would call.

  • Our overall experience with Mr. Simco was very positive and we are very pleased with the outcome of the project he completed on our patio.  First, he came as scheduled to examine the work we needed to have completed.  He was very thorough and detailed and gave us an idea what the project might require.  Although he was very busy as a result of the Big Deal on Angie's List, he called us back and gave us a date and time he would return to do the project.
As promised he returned, fixed the break in our pipe, and completed the project with minimal damage to the bricks.  At first, we (my husband and I) thought the pipe just needed to be cut and capped, but he ran some tests and found out that the pipes were connected around the yard and could not just be capped.  We are extremely grateful, he took this extra step.  He was able to do the repairs by breaking just two bricks.  He replaced the bricks with two extra bricks we had in the yard, and after he finished it was hard to detect where the repairs were made.  This project was completed in four hours, the exact number of hours we purchased under the Big Deal.
We feel Mr. Simco takes pride in his work, is very thorough, and is someone you can trust.  We were impressed that he kept in constant contact with us and followed through on his commitments.  At as later date, we will be calling him back to do some stucco repair around our house.

  • Mario estimated the work and provided a fair and reasonable quote. A day and time was agreed upon. Mario and his crew arrived on time and proceeded to remove the hedge. I was impressed because while they removed the leafy part of the trees, they continuously raked all leaves to keep the area clean ( on both sides of a property fence). Because the area was inaccessible to a stump grinder, the root balls were taken out the old fashion way - pick and shovel. Not only did they remove the root ball, they dug roots that grew away from the trunk and raked and removed all the debris. All of this minor debris was raked and removed.
Mario's Trees Service does not have the highest number of reviews but feel that he has a service that I would recommend to anyone looking for a service that is fairly priced and excellent in quality. This is my first use of Mario and will always use or recommend his work.
