    APlus Interior Design & Remodeling
We worked with APlus to do our house remodel in 2017. This was a major complete remodel that included pluming, electric, structural changes to the house, kitchen, bathrooms, floors, tile, cabinets, baseboards, paint, windows, doors, garage, audio, additional space and cabinets..practically everything about the house changed. The result is a brand new hokme. Alex - the owner who is great and his team - and I wish I could give each person a recognition in here but they know who they are ( project manager Bob , Aplus Office team, designers, plumber team, electrician team, tile, doors, baseboards, cabinets, insulation, framer, floors, stairs, counter tops, everyone did an excellent job. The project was very well managed and because they had a full team for every job .. as the project progressed the hand off from one team to the other went very well. We had eight inspections during the project for each phase All passed with no problems. If we had to do it all over again, we would choose Aplus again without any question. Their experience in remodeling really made a difference to finish our project in a timely manner. They knew what they were doing and doing it well. Alex kept a very close and passionate eye on the project. Bob managed it really well. Everyone we had contact with from APlus was professional, personable, patient, attentive and a pleasure to do business with. They gave us very good guidance and at times when something was not done correctly, they were the first ones to show it to us. Alex is a very very passionate person for his work and team's work. His project manager Bob is super experienced and very responsive and manages his team very well. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail are excellent. We are very happy that we worked with APlus. The result is a great house that everyone who sees it loves. I usually do not give recommendations easily but for APLUS I HIGHLY recommend them and we personally won't do another remodel without them. Thank you APlus

We highly recommend Sonny & Protec.

After our home incurred a large leak and severe water damage, Protec worked with our insurance company to maximize the estimate.  Protec even did an independent ?Exactimate? estimate (the same software the insurance companies use) with more detailed information to raise our claim by 35%.  Because of this, we were able to restore our home in better condition than it was.  We then worked with Protec to do a full remodel and updated our entire house.  This was a tricky process but Sonny was patient and helped us get what we wanted.  He even met me at the flooring and kitchen counter/tile stores and helped me with the sales people; we got the best products at his discounted rates, and Sonny suggested ways to lower our costs with his in depth knowledge.

Over the course of our long remodel, Sonny and his team actually became our friends.  And when our hotel compensation allotment expired, Sonny even volunteered for my family and me to stay with him at his house until the job was finished.  What contractor does that!?!

Sonny is very responsive and a good communicator.  Our house looks great and we are happy.

    Reborn Cabinets Inc.

Reborn redid our kitchen in our previous home about 13 years ago and that went ok.  Called them to redo the kitchen in our new home 3 years ago, my, how things have changed.  The time frame was WAY off, it took months, instead of weeks and they'd changed cabinet vendors.  We could only afford low end and that was fine 13 years ago but the cabinets we got this time were in rough shape when they were delivered "(don't worry, we'll fix them and you'll never know!"  NOT true!) and now they look like they're 10 years old and been in a rental unit.  The doors line up so poorly you can see into the cabinets.  They kept coming with cabinets that weren't cut right or doors that were warped or they'd forget hardware they needed and have to come back.  I need to have two bathrooms redone, won't be using Reborn again and everyone that's asked (6 so far) in my little community for recommendations on this kind of work were warned away from Reborn.  I had the feeling the entire time the work was being done that if our job had been a big, expensive job they would have done excellent work but because we were a small, inexpensive job, they just didn't give a crap.  Save yourself a lot of grief, find another company to do this kind of work.

We basically ended up settling with him because he wouldn't do the work. He's not professional. The people that he had are not professional. He does everything on subcontractor, as a subcontractor. He's a general contractor and he hires all these people that are not, on my opinion, are not qualified to do the work. They didn't do our kitchen granite correctly. It's still not right but we have to live with it. The plumbing guy put in the valve in the shower too long so now we have to build it out a little bit so it looks like crap. And our bath, because I didn't wanna spend another $500.00 to get the valve move back. His guys wouldn't come in. It was a total disaster. It's what it was, from the day they started 'til the day we finally kicked them out. It was a total disaster. I can't really talk about this carpet and this flooring, I'm just talking about all the other work we didn't allow him to do 'cause originally, we had contracted him to do our floors and do the carpet but after he did such a poor job on the kitchen and in the bathrooms, we totally refused to do with him then we had to get an Attorney to settle with him 'cause he's trying to sue us. But, we finally just settle on a number, pay him and block and he walked away, and that was it. So, when I'd recommend him, absolutely no way. He was competitive on price.

    David Ochoa Installations
They did a really nice job for us. So they came, they measured, they did what they're supposed to do. They laugh, they came back, it worked. No issues. They came back as they said they were going to. They installed it like they said they were going to and it looks beautiful. He came over to his own ideas and thoughts and kinda lay it out to look at and things like that and explained everything before starting. A real professional guy. They were competitive.

    • The project went smoothly and on the schedule that was promised.  We are extremely satisfied with our beautiful new counter tops.  The cost was exactly what was estimated.

Our contact with Scott Bollinger at Remodelworks was a positive one in all aspects of the project.  Scott is personable, very reliable and responsive.  He returns calls promptly, comes when he says he will come and checks in regularly to see how the job is progressing.  The workmen he provided were very skilled and eager to please us.  We would gladly use Remodelworks again in the future.

We started looking at countertop options right before the Christmas holidays and went to the San Juan Capistrano LA Carpet location.  I had used them previously for my kitchen countertops and had a very positive experience.  In the store we met Moris who showed us some samples of the type of counters we were interested in.  We really liked a crushed marble sample he showed us which had large pieces of marble instead of small pieces like you see in quartz countertops.  He also told us this was a less expensive type of stone.

A couple weeks later I called Moris at the San Juan store and the number was disconnected.  Since I live close by I stopped by and the store was gone.  We could not find that type of stone anywhere else, so we went to the Irvine LA Carpet location and explained our situation.  They told us Moris was at Universal Carpet which is part of LA Carpet and gave us his number.  When we called Moris and told him we would like to move forward with getting an estimate, he had trouble remembering the type of stone we were looking at even though I had the model number that he wrote on his business card.  He said he would bring samples to our estimate.

He arrived for the estimate on time and took a look at our bathrooms.  He provided an estimate that was a little higher than what he quoted at our initial visit with him and he wrote quartz on the estimate.  Unfortunately, he did not bring the right sample of stone that we were interested in.  He said he remembered the stone now, but was having trouble locating the sample since the other store moved, but he would look through their warehouse for the sample.  This was MLK Day.  He also said he would call later that day to schedule a time for the installers to come by and build the template.  He didn't call for over a week.  The following week I called again and he said he found our sample and that I should stop by the store to see it.  I did and the sample was on his desk, but again it was not the right sample.  It was the same sample he showed us at the estimate (quartz).  He did this a couple more times where my husband and I would have to come over to the store to see yet another sample of the wrong product.  Finally, over a month later he found one similar to our sample.  It was the crushed marble, but did not have the large chunks we wanted.  At this point we could not find another store who carried this stone and only found prefab counters in the same stone.  Plus, we are expecting in a couple months and wanted to get our bathrooms completed right away.  So we agreed to do the stone he found.  When we asked about the pricing, he said it was the same and that it was the same as quartz; again, not what he told us initially.  We really felt that Moris was not being honest with us or really trying to find the sample. Plus, we still don't understand why he couldn't find the stone based on the product code he gave us at our first visit.

The installers were always on time, professional and friendly.  Their installation was not perfect by any means though.  The edges are not perfectly straight, especially corners, and we had to call them back to enlarge the drain holes for the master bathroom sink. There are also some scratches in the stone (very hard to see though) from the installation tools they used. From a glance the counters still look very good though.

I was very disappointed in this experience.  I was a repeat customer and also was looking to have tile installed in my master shower and bath floors, but I ended up using a different company for this service even though I saw that they carried the materials we were interested in.  I also feel that the costs were too high.  In the end, I felt very distrustful of our sales person and resented the fact that it took over a month to get the counters installed after our estimate.

We found Marble & Granite Imports on Angie's list and they were one of three companies we received bids from for our countertops. Their bid was competitive and, moreover, Abraham took the time to really understand our needs and to help us make tough decisions on details of the installation. As we were talking about the job, he realized that there would be enough left over of the master bathroom slab to cover the other upstair bathroom countertop and offered to do that at no extra charge. This was something neither of the other two companies thought of. We were thrilled and ran out and bought two new sinks and faucets for the other dual vanity countertop. Abraham worked around the other contractors we had hired for the kitchen remodel and was very prompt and considerate of our needs. The installation went smoothly, except for the dust that blew all over our neighbor's car during the cutting process in our driveway - we paid to have it washed, no big deal. The workers were polite and considerate and cleaned up well after themselves. After the bathroom installation we noticed that there was a discoloration on the countertop in the master bath and that the location of the faucets to the sink was not quite the way we wanted them. Abraham promptly brought the Ceasar Stone rep out to evaluate the discoloration and the upshot was that they quickly replaced the countertop and located the faucets and sink the way we wanted them at no extra charge to us. Abraham even had his plumber come out the next day and hook all the plumbing up. We were very pleased with the job that Abraham's company did for us and would highly recommend them.

Excellent. Abe was 10 minutes early for the first appointment to discuss the job. He measured everything and gave us a written quote the first day. He spent several hours with us at the granite slab yard to help us pick out the granite. He fabricated most of the granite off site and installed it on the day he said he would. He team removed the ceramic tile in the morning and installed the granite countertops that afternoon. The travertine was installed the next day and grouted the following day. Did everything he said he would. Workmanship was excellent, best we've seen.
