    Chanclerz Custom Creations

It started with promises of competency and attention to detail that would be done in 4 days and quickly turned into a complete disaster lasting (still unfinished) 3 months. The project looks terrible (nothing like the design we asked for), it's not done with the materials promised (cost cutting that has resulted in things falling apart after 2 weeks), not built to code or permitted(law requires permitting for retaining walls over 48") and most importantly CHANCE HAS REFUSED TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS.

The project was supposed to be straight corten steel retaining walls with no visible footings with flat or nearly flat landings at each level including lighting, drip irrigation, plants and a tree in the "square" tree box. The pictures are what we actually got.

He pulled pictures off of the internet and posted them on his facebook leading us to believe they were his work when later we found out they were not and that he was not actually capable of that quality.

Day 1 should have been a red flag when 4 guys sat out in the yard with a sawzall trying to remove 3 large tree stumps for hours and made no progress.  Several days of struggling led to them ultimately not removing the stumps completely and instead altering the plans.

Sonotubes and footings that were not supposed to be visible were put in above ground and look terrible. Besides being wrong visually they have zero stability. One of the sonotube posts fell over within a couple days and had to be removed.

When we pointed out early on that the footings were moving and didn't line up and needed to be fixed HE REFUSED TO FIX IT. Now one wall is leaning forward and starting to fall over and another is crooked and not parallel to the others.

The steel panels that they welded to the posts are thinner than we were told they would be and are now bowing. Points where the panels are welded to the frames are breaking. There are gaps and crooked rough cuts all over the place. They used scraps to cover gaps on panels they cut wrong.

Bottom line... Worst experience we have ever had with any type of service or builder in our lives. We mistakenly paid the contract in full and are stuck with only a pile of scrap metal to show for it. They did not fulfill the contract, they did not meet our expectations, they did not execute one thing they promised and ultimately refused to take responsibility for the horrible work.  Sadly, we paid Chance to come in and essentially litter or front yard with what appears to be an amateur metal shop project gone horribly wrong.

It went very well. I reached out to Mike late last year based on his reviews on this site. My wife and I had a good feeling from the start as he was very punctual to the initial meeting, took time to listen to what we were planning, and then turned around a quote within a couple of days. My experience to that point with contractors is that they were very flaky when it came to responding to us in a timely manner. Once the project started Mike was in daily contact with me or my wife to make sure we understood where the project was at, and to discuss any issues that came up (as they always do in this type of work). The biggest issue that did come up was not even due to Mike and his team, but it was due to my engineer who was very difficult to work with. Mike was able to step in and deal with him and work with his own guy to solve the engineering problems, and we really appreciated that (we learned after the fact that Mike and his team does design as well). The project started in January and ended toward the end of April. We were very happy with the end result and any flaws or items that we were unsatisfied with during the process were quickly fixed or addressed throughout the process, though there were very few and when they did come up there were small in the scope of things. We're still in touch with Mike as we decide to do other projects on the home, and we'd definitely recommend him for any home additions or construction.

Randy is a joy to work with.  He writes everything out prior to the job being started so you know exactly what you are paying for and what the timeline is.  When he says he will be there - he will be there.  He and his crew are personable, neat and always accept changes and customer-related delays with grace and a smile.  Their work product is exemplary and their subcontractors (for specialty  items) are true artisans.  Everyone related to the jobs that they brought in were great.  The dogs love them and you can feel safe about leaving them alone in your home.

Easy to set up appointment. Technician was a little late, arrived after appointment window. However, technician apologized, was courteous, knowledgable, and informative throughout the process. I would use again.

    Hi-Tech Builders Inc
We received a phone canvas call for their office and asked for a  quote. David came and sat with us for a time explaining just how he would design the new bathroom. He then quoted what we thought was a fair price and hired him for the job. He had told us his office would call every day with expected arrival times and any delays the might encounter. To our surprise that is just what they did. Every day Sandy would call and keep us up to date as to what would happen the next day, who to expect etc. Their workmanship was very high and all the workers were pleasant and polite and respected our home. I would highly recommend Hi-Tech Builder to everyone who wants to get what they were promised and more. We absolutely love our new bathroom.

    JH Custom Homes Inc
We hired James (James Hooper, the "JH" in JH Custom Homes) to remodel the laundry room in our new home. The old one was poorly laid out and had no useful storage space. He measured carefully and spent quite some time discussing the details of what we wanted before giving us an estimate, which we accepted. It took him about a week to complete the job to his (and our) satisfaction, which I think is a bit longer than he'd planned because he's a perfectionist! The job included demolishing the old cabinets, opening up the walls and relocating the utilities, installing tile in the piece of floor that had been previously been under the cabinets, hanging the new cabinets, installing the new sink where the washer had previously been, and painting the whole thing. As the resident laundry goddess, I am much happier with the new arrangement and with the quality of James' work. We already have him lined up to make some other improvements around here!

They have super good customer service. They beat my lowest bid for a project by $14000 and everybody else had quoted me $16000 - $18000. They did an amazing job and I’m super happy with them. They walked me through everything and showed me everything upfront. Every time I had any questions they answered to all of it. They completed the work in eight days and did a good job. The only complaint about them was that my neighbor came over to tell me that they have been making a mess and one of their guys had rolled out some of the stuff under their lawn and which needed to cleaned. I’m looking for stuff so that I can use them again in the future.

They provided the right information needed for reconstruction. They seem knowledgeable to this kind of job. They were willing to satisfy the needs of their clients.  I would consider using their services in the future.

    Affordable Handyman & Remodel
He kept disappearing out of the work area, even though all the equipment was at the work site. He would disappear for significant chunks of time. This became a problem because he went past the agreed-upon time for the project and then charged me for additional time. Get a quote by the project, not an hourly rate.

Tim was great; he showed up every day, worked all day and was meticulous in all phases of the project. I would highly recommend him for a remodeling project and will use him again.
