    Montgomery Village Veterinary Clinic
Our dog just died, but we had a very nice vet. We used them for a year. Our dog was full of lung cancer. They were very nice and the people we talked to we liked. They put Maxie to sleep and were very caring. They saw him for a year and a half. We brought him in overall check, we changed his food, ordinary maintenance. The price was normal. If I get another dog, I will use them again. The services were shots, evaluations, he was wheezing and we didn't know he had cancer. I didn't want him to go through a lot of trauma cause we had just moved and I thought it was the climate here. He did a nice job, he didn't try to sell me anything. When you are new to a vet they usually try to sell you dental services and he didn't do that. Other places always make it sound like if you don't do it it's bad. I didn't like that because he's a Pekinese and they have trouble breathing anyway.

$560 later it turns out that they can't test for food allergies in dogs. The blood tests were for "environmental conditions" only. He was tested against a 50 kinds of trees and weeds and grass (none of which triggered an immune response) They did tell me he was allergic to dust mites (are everywhere/hard to get rid of). We told them that he was definitely allergic to chicken (we had figured that one out ourselves) so they recommended we feed him kangaroo. The doctor said she could get it, but it would be a special order. It's expensive and it needs to be refrigerated. I laughed at this rediculious recommendation. Did I mention it's also illegal! Can't import kangaroo to California (nor should you). Once it was brought to her attention that this was against the law she suggested we feed him food made from CHICKEN FEATHERS. I reminded her that the dog is allergic to chicken. She insisted it would be okay. I felt like we got nowhere. Total waste of time and money.

They're very good. I've been there for 50 years. I trust them. I like them. They know me more or less. So, they take me right away. They help me. I see Dr. Voss there. She is very very good. I like her. I'm happy with the quality.

    The Pampered Pet
It went great! Mary Lou is very attentive and knows cats very well. Mary Lou kept in constant contact with me regarding my cats and how they were doing in my absence. She even sent me pictures in email which made me feel much more comfortable being away from them. Mary Lou carefully paid attention to all my requests and follows in great detail. I plan to use Mary Lou in the future.

    The Animal Doctor
The Animal Doctors have been our vet for 15+ years, covering 2 dogs with many and varied ailments over the course of time. They were knowledgeable and caring. They are a small office that know your name--not a big, anonymous business. They've reset a broken leg, responded to bee sting reactions, handled acute arthritis pain (successfully treated with laser treatments), multiple eye infections, extracted foxtails from the dog's nose, cleaned teeth, treated stomach disorders, and handled a host of other issues I can't even remember. And, lastly, they handled the final service for our last dog--with compassion and sympathy.
They will not try to push you into anything unnecessary and will refer you to specialists when appropriate. I highly recommend them.

We have had a good experience with the vets at Peninsula Pet. We switched when our former vet became part of the VCA chain and felt like they were more interested in how much $$ they could get from us. Peninsula Pet is owned by a couple and we feel like our animals get excellent care. They were very kind when we lost two of our pets. For instance, when our 13 year old dog was diagnosed with a tumor on the spleen, they offered treatment options, were honest that the treatment wouldn't really increase his quality of life. They may be somewhat reluctant to offer euthanasia, but when we decided to go that route, they were very understanding and allowed us to do it at a time when all of our family could be there. Now that we have younger animals, they have been prompt in helping us out with and quot;puppy mishaps, and quot; like the time our dog at a whole box of chocolate cookies. We highly recommend this practice!

    South Peninsula Veterinary Emergency Clinic
We felt like our dog was in good hands the whole time.  All the staff was friendly and caring.  They kept us informed as they ran tests about what the tests meant and what the next step would be.  They provided all of the pricing and estimates up front.  It wasn't cheap, but it was an emergency situation, so we weren't expecting cheap.  Even though we ended up not figuring out what was wrong, she did eventually stop throwing up.  We felt much better having her overnight with the vet than at home with her clueless owners.  High marks for everyone at the clinic from us!

Well run practice. Great medical care for complicated diagnoses. Everyone I know who has been there recommends too.
Especially good at email follow up and responsiveness.
Given the location, I was expecting much higher prices but they are actually cheaper than the "name" places in other towns on the Peninsula.

We had several visits for examination/consultation ($75) with Lawrence Wengren DVM and a subsequent surgery removing a skin cancer in the groin area of our dog (about $550) including anesthesia, without overnight stay. Surgery went well, healed well and our dog likes Lawrence and does not mind going to the clinic .
On a different occasion a recent consultation and quote ($65) for a different surgery with Jessica Christiansen, DVM (Lawrence Wendgren was on vacation) we found her very professional, competent and thorough. She was open minded (and familiar) with alternative treatments and gave us wise advice.
In the past 10 years we had multiple consultations and treatments with half a dozen veterinary clinics for our (very courageous and active) dog and we felt we had the best experience with Village Square Veterinary Hospital at a reasonable price.

I've been 2 times no. Great success both times.
    Easy location.
Ladies are all nice and happy each time.
Dog is fully dried which I completely apreciate as it is more time for them, but it is better results.
They helped get his Minnesota fur coat off!
