Dermatology reviews in Menlo Park

    Riverchase Dermatology
This seems like very busy practice. The staff is friendly and efficient. I recently moved to Naples from N. California where I had health care through an HMO so this is my first experience with a private practice in many years. The doctors at the HMO were busy but they took the time to chat with you and listen to your concerns. I felt the doctor at Riverchase seemed rushed and uncommunicative.

    Elizabeth Gould MD
Dr. Gould is very proactive and thorough in addressing potential skin cancer issues and routinely takes biopsies of potential problem areas. Fortunately, all tests have been negative.  It is very reassuring to know that Dr. Gould is on top of this aspect of my health care.

Appointments appear to be stacked for less than every 20 minutes. Doctor was running a little behind and I definitely felt that he wanted to spend 10 minutes with me tops. While my issues aren't life threatening, one is an occurrence of something old and I was hoping for a discussion on what's new in treatment options. There was no discussion of options and my questions were waved off. I was told to look things up online myself. I am capable of figuring that stuff out myself, thanks. Was hoping to for the opinion of an actual doctor.

About 8 minutes in of not having my questions taken seriously, I was asked, "So are you here for anything else?" Even if I walked in with a grapefruit-sized melanoma, I would have said "NO" at that point.

Anyway, moved on to another doctor in the PAMF family that I love.

    Pearlman, Dr. Dale L
I normally see him twice a year because I have seasonal allergies and they usually flare up and make my skin flare up. He is into dermatology not skin expert. I know these days there are dermatologist who do the other stuff, he will removes stuff like if you got pre melanoma but otherwise if you want beauty probably then you might want to go somewhere else. I was due to see him a month ago but we had a schedules conflict, so I will be seeing him next month. He likes to really observe what’s happening with the patient's skin and he really listens to what the patient has to tell him with regard to what works and what doesn't work. He is not over eager to prescribe pills or creams if proven ineffective or they have unpleasant side effects. He is happy to work with other therapies like acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine as long as he knows what's in it so that it doesn't work across purposes. He is good in all those respects. He has had his practice for a while so if you are trying to break in as a new patient he is not always easy. There are times in the year it is easier to see him than almost pop in the next day and there are other times where you have to wait for a week. The office is great; it has stuff for kids like parents who are getting a seen can entertain their kids. I got him after a long line of other dermatologist so I'm not sure if he had not tried all the other therapies other dermatologist had tried.

    Pearlman, Dr. Dale L
My experience with him has been really good. He gives time to his patients. He waits until all my queries are answered and gives detailed explanations to my questions. He is really good-natured and patient. In terms of appointments, it all depends on how busy he is, but once I have the scheduled appointment, he is on time. The office environment is good. I would continue to use him in the future.

I must add the disclaimer that he is a personal friend and that I have been treated by other doctors unsuccessfully. He gave me a better diagnosis and a better treatment. He will actually stop to ask if you have any questions, and then listen. That's very unusual for a doctor.

He is probably the best listener of any doctor I've ever had. He has given me different treatments for my psoriasis. I am overall very pleased with this doctor.
