    Fairway Landscape & Irrigation Inc
All work was complete before purchasing my home.  This company was chosen by my home builder.  When I moved in I noticed my backyard was not draining, the front yard (from wall/gate separating my front and back yards) was higher than the back, not allowing proper drainage.  When the landscaper finally came out, with my builders rep, he was apologetic before I even spoke to him, as the builder had explained my issue to him.  Direct words from him, "we will take care of it and make it right."  He explained to me what he was going to do to fix my drainage issue, install a drain, connecting to piping, below ground to direct the water from pooling at my gate line to the middle of a flower/shrub bed in my front yard, allowing the water to dissipate into the earth and not pool.  I was in agreement as to the fix, as I had discussed it with others and I am in the construction industry and know this is a sufficient fix.  I am in the process of having a concrete patio, walkway and mow curb installed, so I gave him a deadline.  Due to weather conditions I extended the time frame that I needed work completed by, rescheduling my concrete pour.  On the date of his deadline, with the concrete work crew waiting (as the walkway is to be placed on top on the location of the piping) I called to find out why the work wasn't done.  He stated that his worker would be there soon.  I later heard from my concrete crew that he sent a man out to "re-grade" the area (not our agreed upon solution).  This regrading took all of 10 minutes.  When I got home to check the work, nothing was done to fix the problem.  To not hold up my concrete crew I have agreed to have them do the work, at an extra cost to me.  I spoke with my builder rep today and he stated the landscaper has always been difficult and stated he is not going to fix it because I am having work done that would "undo" his fix.  This is not what was to happen, my concrete work would go above his drainage (logical industry standard.)  I feel a contractor should complete his work correctly.  If that work is sub-par, it is his obligation to fix it.  I strongly feel that if a person, contractor, anyone makes a promise/commitment to do something they need to do it.  I would NEVER use this contractor, and I will make sure all my neighbors and others looking for a contractor for landscaping needs knows that  this contractor is not one to use.

    Mitchell Construction
We are very pleased with the quality of work performed by Mitchell Construction. The construction crew is knowledgeable, considerate, and follows through with what they say they will do. The walls look like they've always been there because they carefully matched the drywall texture and rounded corner treatments of the original house. The tile work in the bathroom was exceptional. Their vendors, such as the custom cabinetry manufacturer and carpet installers, likewise did excellent work. At the start of the project, we showed the owner a picture of the sliding door we saw at a Hilton hotel which we wanted to duplicate for the bathroom, and they got it exactly right, even doing some custom fabrication to be sure it looked clean and functioned well. There were minor  delays associated with receipt of certain materials, most of which was beyond the contractor's control. For instance, the job started in the middle of a summer factory shutdown for the cabinetry maker, so receipt of the cabinets was delayed. Certain other items could have been ordered earlier so that they would arrive on time. But our endorsement of Mitchell Construction nevertheless remains unqualified.
