  • Terrible. A small amount of water was leaking from under the frig only when the ice maker was turned on. So I shut off the ice maker and called Carter's. Steve came out, charged me $89.90 for the service call, didn't deduct the $25 veteran discount as promised and advertised by Carter's, and left without doing anything because he couldn't find the problem. After calling Carter's and speaking to Scott, who claimed to be one of the owner's, Steve was sent back a few days later. This time, he said the problem was a missing part (cup fill) and gave me a $600 estimate to replace the ice maker. After looking up the part on line, I ordered a cup fill from GE for $5.25. Clear case of trying to get people to spend money unnecessarily on repairs that are not needed. Beware of Carter's - there are plenty of ethical appliance repair companies out there.

  • I called Sakura on a Thursday, they came for the initial visit promptly at 11 am ON A SATURDAY. Diagnosis took 45 minutes. They ordered the parts, called me when the parts came in, and set a service window for 2-4 pm 9 days later. Alex arrived at 3:15, took about one hour for the repair, and cleaned everything up afterward. The igniter works fine now, and he gave us advice for how to avoid this problem in the future. I would definitely recommend this company!

  • I should begin by saying that I had had another Angie's List provider diagnose my issue and give me an estimate for the fix, which included ordering a new SubZero ice maker, a new water valve, and installing both, which would require two men to pull the unit out (SubZeros are big fridges). I decided that I wanted a second opinion, since the ice maker was totally frozen over (water was leaking all down the edge of my freezer) and he never actually pulled it out to look at it. I had used SB Appliance in 2014 (you can see previous review I wrote) and had had a good experience, so I had a hunch that maybe there was a simpler explanation. Mike listened to my concerns, pulled out the unit, and noticed that the fill cup (where the water is poured before it enters the tray -- I forget the exact name) had frozen over and that was causing the water to spill over instead of fill the ice tray. He melted the ice, reinstalled the tray, and voila! it was working. I am typing this four hours later, and I already have perfectly made ice cubes in my freezer. All this was done in no time at all, and Mike was patience and answered all of my questions. I can't believe how quickly it was done, and how much $$$ SB Appliance saved me. The previous provider I don't believe was dishonest -- I just think he rushed to diagnose the problem and wasn't thorough. Or maybe I'm naive or too trusting. In any event, I'm never going to even bother using anyone else. I've now used SB Appliance twice, and both times they gave me an honest assessment of the issue and fixed it at a reasonable cost. They're great.

  • I had used Paul's service in the past with good results. However, I needed repairs on the washing machine in April this year and was cheduled to work with David. He initially misdiagnosed the problem and possibly created one when working on the machine. He charged me for a new motor which he said he installed but would'nt provide me with the receipt for the moter he purchased when asked. He stopped returning calls when I told him the problem wasn't fixed and the real problem was one he either missed or created it. Bottom line, I don't know what happned to David's sense of responsibility and work ethic but to charge someone without solving the problem and then walking away from it without answering any call backs is unnacceptable. Will probably take him to small claims court.

  • Oscar arrived right on time.  Oscar diagnosed the problem with the washer quickly, and he had the part on hand to fix the unit.  I also asked about another issue and he fixed that too.  Oscar serviced the other parts of the washer dryer and made sure that the connections were installed properly because I had tried to fix the problem on my own earlier.  I would highly recommend Oscar especially for older units that you think are passed their life expectancy.

  • It was so helpful to have someone like Oscar be my 1st Angie's list call. He handled everything so professionally. If all of the Angie's list contract workers are half as good as Oscar I will be using Angie's list for a very long time. He emailed me immediately and set up an appointment. Because of a family issue I had to delay the appointment but he was patient and rescheduled. He was very thorough in his diagnostics and repair of my gas dryer.  I kept thinking it was going to cost more than he quoted. When he was done he cleaned everything up and fixed something and the cost was one half of what he had quoted as an estimate. Oscar you saved the day and at a very reasonable price. Angie's list is lucky to have Oscar Romero from Oscar's Washer & Dryer repair in Manhattan Beach, CA on their team. If anyone needs his service I would definitely call him at 424 204-3026.   • Said they would be there between 10-2.  Never called.  At 2 I called and they said 4-5.  When I tried to cancel, I was hung up on 3 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Couldn't get a supervisor.  Just don't call!

  • Serviceman was in the area so responded to my call within 10 minutes and was at my home within 10 minutes. Lucky me. He diagnosed the problem which was a broken transmission. He said he would call back with the price of a new transmission. He answered my questions regarding repair versus replace, front loader vs top loader, top of the line vs a basic new washing machine. He even referred me to a local appliance company that provides a good selection, good service and delivery of a new washing machine.

  • The dryer works great.  Barry always cleans the interior of the dryer mechanism.  The area around the flame and the pipes around it get cleaned when he services a dryer.  I've trusted him for decades with our washer, dryer and ducts. (He cleans ducts also.)

  • Because of using the wrong Water Filter recommended by someone in Home Depot, it caused the water to freeze all the tubing throughout the refriferator.  He had to completely take it apart, then defrost it, which took hours, and then put it all back together and replace the water filter with the correct GE one!!!!
