  • He has my genuine respect because he practices the true personalized medicine and is not dictated by what the medical insurance dictate. This means you will have to file your own medical claims, which is not a big deal, because his staff will guide you in filling out the medical claims. I consider him the best primary care doctor I have ever had in my 64 years.

  • I first met Dr. Gill when he was the co-surgeon on my ACL re-construction back in the early 1990s. He assisted my orthopedic surgeon, Dr. John Trettin, in my surgery, and the result was incredible. For 20 years, I had ZERO knee problems, including on the knee they reconstructed!! In 2007, I injured my shoulder, and because tragically Dr. Trettin had passed away, I saw Dr. Gill. Again, he did a tremendous job explaining my options and treatment plan. I made a complete recovery and did not hesitate to see Dr. Gill when I needed treatment for injury to my other knee. His staff was accomodating and pleasant, his office run efficiently and professionally, and his knowledge and bed-side manner is that of a friend as well as a physician. I would highly recommend him to my closest family and friends, and hope he practices forever.....

  • I just can't say enough nice things about Dr Kissel. I think he's the greatest!
My surgery was scheduled for 7:00 am, but I don't remember much after the anesthesiologist administered his special mix at about 6:30. I awoke in recovery at 9:00 am and was soon taken back to my room where I ate a full lunch. After lunch, they had me up and walking. There was some discomfort at the incision site, but no nerve pain. What a relief! I was finally able to sleep and was released the next day.
Finally, I could sit and sleep through the night. I needed no pain medications, aside from some Aleve for 2-3 days to reduce discomfort from the incision site. Within 5 days, I was able to cook my own meals again and pretty much return to my "normal" life. I walked daily and stayed out of a car for 3 weeks.
I am now at the 5-week mark post-surgery and although I have a bit of numbness and foot drop still, Dr Kissel tells me that should improve as the disruption internally in the sciatic nerve heals. However, if I never get any better than I am right now, I will be a more than satisfied with the results. I can pretty much walk normally and I am pain-free. I have my life back!

  • Terrible customer service. Billing did not submit my insurance therefore I was wrongfully billed for labwork and the office visit. Was charged a no-show fee when I had to cancel due to my infant being sick even though I rescheduled for the following day. Will never use again.

  • Frustrated with the "revolving door" policy at the Lompoc Sansum Clinic, where about every year or two, my primary physician would move away so I'd be assigned to another physician, I last year scheduled my first introductory appointment with Dr. Riemer as a neighboring couple, one a retired nurse the other a retired psychiatrist, recommended him.Last month (Wednesday) he took me in for an unscheduled emergency visit to treat and diagnose acute abdominal pain. He gave my a supply of codeine pain pills, examined me and scheduled blood work exam and told me to come back on Friday. His preliminary diagnosis was that I was passing a kidney stone. I suffered much pain between these visits but without those pills, the pain would have been unbearable. He had me pee in coffee filters so as to recover any stone. During Friday's visit, he reviewed my symptoms, scheduled me for an ultrasound, wrote me a prescription for really strong pain pills and scheduled me for the following Wednesday. These pain pills completely nullified further bouts of pain. Sunday I passed and retrieved the stone. On the Wednesday visits after reviewed the tests and seeing the stone, he ordered more tests—an analysis of the stone and a urine test for uric acid.I give Dr. Riemer high marks for availability, a thorough diagnostic work-up, and, knowing that I pay out-of-pocket, for sensitively balancing my comfort and cost. Sure, I'd have suffered less had I been hospitalized, but I cringe at the expense.Dr Riemer is an obvious choice for someone who is uninsured and must watch one's expense. Never-the-less, my confidence in his competence is such that I'd remain under his care even if I were to win the lottery tomorrow.

  • He recommended a course of medical care. As always, Dr. Reimer and very personable, kind, considerate, thorough, not in a rush to see the next patient and a very caring Doctor.
