    Acampo Tree Service
Ken and his crew did a great job. I've had them do my trees every year for the past 6 years. My current home has about 10 larger trees. My previous home had about 30 larger trees. Ken has the equipment and crew to handle both larger and smaller jobs. Trees were well trimmed and all cuttings were removed. His crew is polite and aims to please!

Babylon Builders - Home & Landscape Contractor
It went great! What was once just dirt and weeds is now beautiful land and hardscape! Roney was very responsive to our requests and ideas and quickly came back with a design we were exited to get implemented. Within a few days a full crew was on-site to start the work. As the work started there were a few areas where his foreman Juan recommended modifications. These modifications were very positive and above and beyond the original agreement and at no additional cost to us, which made my husband very happy! Those included replacement of 3 steps to our deck from wood to concrete, increased length of the sidewalk, improved fencing beyond the original design, some additional irrigation work and fixing the base of another set of stairs to regulation height by adding flagstone. Juan had great vision for how to make these changes so the outcome went from beautiful to outstanding! And the crown jewel of this whole project is a custom, unique fire pit that I found only as a picture from the internet. Juan pulled this off with no formal instructions, just a solitary picture and his own creativity! We could not be happier and certainly recommend Babylon Garden Landscaping.

    The Lone Pine Tree Service
Called back quickly. Joel the foreman answered all my questions and offered up sound advice and suggestions. Showed up on time for both the bid and the actual job. Cleaned up and blew out debris from yard. Will definitely recommend and use again!

    TDK Construction
Ty was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. We had 4 other bids for the same project from other landscapers and contractors (which were astronomically high) and TDK (Ty) gave a way more realistic bid so we went with him. I am so glad we did because I can honestly say that their work was fantastic and they completed the entire project in 2 days! Will definitely hire again.

    Greenzway Yard & Tree Service
I called for an estimate and Brandon came out the same day to give a free estimate. I found the estimate to be very reasonable, which included cutting the tree down, removing all the tree from the property, and grinding the stump. After accepting the estimate, I was able to have an appointment scheduled quickly for the following week. The crew arrived on time. Care was taken not to damage the mature shrubs, nearby plants, and sprinklers. After the job was complete and all the tree debris removed, the crew checked the sprinklers to make sure they worked properly. They also swept and rinsed the sidewalk and surrounding area. I'm very pleased with the service provided.

Babylon Builders - Home & Landscape Contractor
This time I wanted a zen section installed and Babylon met with me so Ron and I went over the sand, design and stones to be used for edging and unique larger rocks. The rocks are almost limestone looking but are Sydney Stone that have a certain shape.  It looks really great.  It wasn’t a large area, but it looks great.

    A1A Tree Service
Not well. I live 3,000 miles away and am an absentee landlord. On the day of service Wesley called me at the start. Two hours later he called again and told me he was done and leaving. Wesley sent pictures of the one branch he cut. My neighbors confirmed Wesley cut this one branch and others trees or branches were not trimmed. When I asked Wesley if he was going to complete the job as agreed upon and he said no, he had already completed what he was going to do. In an email to me Wesley said he felt he did extra work because he blew off saw dust from the roof of the property, which came from the one branch. Wesley is insistent that I pay him the full $1,150 originally agreed upon based on a full 8 hours of tree service. I instead sent Wesley a $500 check to cover the 2 hours he worked ($200 per hour plus $100 for any gas or materials). Wesley has yet to cash the $500 check and has been calling me and threatening to take me to court. Wesley told me before any work started that I don't need to pay him until after the job is done and I am fully satisfied. At this time I am willing to have Wesley accept the $500 and move on. I also want others to know of my experience.

    Sprinklers 24/7 - Roots Landscaping
He took awhile to get back to us and because they were back-logged, he couldn't get us in until the week after the next one.
He showed up in a dirty late model truck and had well worn looking work-clothes that looked like they hadn't seen a laundry in awhile and could use a wash.  I thought the guy looked ready to do some work.  And my first impression was that he was a pleasant and well mannered Landscape person.
Then, he did a walk through around the yard.  He spoke as though he really knew the landscaping watering business.  We had a lot of issues with our sprinkler system and he advised us as to how we would best be served by changing it all out and putting in more modern and properly working equipment.
In spite of all of the problems we knew we had before he came down, we had a couple of tweaks we wanted him to help with on a couple of areas of our system that were working and we were using to get by with that we wanted to have "tuned up."  That was why I called him.  The sprinkler heads needed to have the grass cleared away from them and there was one head that I had tried unsuccessfully to replace and I hoped he would be able to fix it.  I even had the new replacement head for it.
He found where the underground sprinkler controls were.  It hadn't been touched in years and had dried leaves inside.  He said, and I quote, "You're going to have to clean that out.  No one is going to work on it until it's cleaned out."  Possibly true but we didn't even know it was there until he showed it to us.  I felt as though he was chastising us for it having leaves in it.  And on principle, a person who does this for a living and makes the home-owner clean out the leaves before he'll work on it, isn't really selling me on hiring him for any other work.
I then asked him about "tuning up" the portion that did work and he said, again I quote, "Oh no.  That can't POSSIBLY be included in this service."  He said it in a tone that made me feel stupid for even thinking that anyone would actually DO some work as advertised.  Apparently, a tune up was to come to our yard, tell us what was wrong with our sprinkler system, and then tell us how he would fix it.
And that is NOT a problem - unless you advertise that you are doing a tune-up and charging $39.00 for it.
If the advertisement would have said, "we'll come and give you an estimate of what needs to be done and there is a non-refundable $39 fee for the service,"  I could have chosen to have them come or not (I wouldn't have, because I already knew it was in sorry shape and just wanted to tune-up the part I was still able to use).
Then he got ready to leave and told us he would send a proposal.  We gave him the $39.
I just feel like this is a bait and switch advertisement.  His attitude when he saw our system clearly reflected that, contrary to his attire and transportation's condition,  he had no intention of doing the work as implied by the "$39 Tune-up" ad.
And he did send a proposal.  It was a very large number.  I will give him credit for letting us know we could do it in sections so that we didn't have to come up with all of the money at once.
I just wanted him to "Tune up" the sprinkler system as advertised.  By the way, I felt so cheated that I went back to the ad and re-read it.  He was technically within his rights under the fine print - did not have to actually perform services.  But, the clear implication of advertising "Sprinkler System Tune-up - $39" is that they WOULD come and noodle around with it at least a little bit - or even show us how to do it so we could limp along until we decided to have it fixed.
My first impression over the phone was positive.  I wanted to like these folks.  But, even if their bid turns out to be competitive, I don't think I could trust them to treat me fairly on the job itself so I couldn't comfortably hire them.
It was my first experience with Angie's List recommended service provider.  Not a real positive start.

    Todd's Gardening Service
This has been one of the most disheartening things, to be let down by someone who does not tell the truth...please save yourself the aggravation and do not hire this man...if you have hired him now, be very careful and do not pay in advance.

Babylon Builders - Home & Landscape Contractor

Ron had done my design and I finally had the work done.  I have beautiful pavers, plants and walkways.   We also built a pergola out Redwood (great natural red color).  I'm greatly appreciative.  The price was reasonable and the job excellent. The crew cleaned up everyday.  Very hard workers and Ron was their to supervise and also had a foreman on hand.  This company does very good work.  Scheduling was a little issue because Babylon has been very busy, but it was worth the wait.  Thank you Babylon Gardens.
