    Giddens Brothers Heating & Air
For over 30 years we have used the same HVAC contractor. Nine years previously they installed a new unit with a copper condenser. It failed 4 times and cost $1,000+ for labor and it was time to replace it. We asked for bids and Giddens Brothers had the most solutions and best price. Paul Giddens thoroughly educated us on all our alternatives and suggested a manufacturer that had an aluminum condenser that cost about $1,000 less then we paid 9 years earlier. The next week two very professional technicians installed a new unit and inspected all ducts, registers. They found air leakage in all locations and sealed all registers. How come it took over 30 years to find these problems? We are now a very pleased Giddens Brothers customer.

    Giddens Brothers Heating & Air
I first bought 2 HVAC systems with Giddens almost 5 years ago. The quote was a little high, but I really liked Paul and it seemed like we should go with someone we trusted. And the beginning was good. The people who installed our system were great. I still hold them in high regard. It was the rest of the experience in the years that followed that bring me to this F rating. I am four months before my warranty ends. I have spent 27,000 all I have to show for it, is three leaking air conditioning systems. 2 high end systems still under warranty with leaks, one heater that mysteriously turns off when it get really cold and you have to go into the basement to reset the moisture sensor that has no moisture. I realize, that despite quite a few service visits, I have never had a problem fixed. Not a single problem. I had one tech who taught me how to reset the sensor in my basement but not fix it. I have had several techs who have refilled freon but claim that we have to wait until the systems dont work again to diagnose the rest. Lots of visits, seriously delayed billing (two bills took over five months between when the service was given and the bill was received) and lot of frustration, but not a single fixed problem. While they have a good reputation on Angies list, they havent had a review in two years. When I look at Yelp reviews over the last two years I see my story repeated over and over again. I had a leak, they came and put coolant in it, and never followed up. Didnt return my calls. Five years in, I dont get to talk to Paul. I have gotten the super grumpy brother who is downright mean. I have gotten the incompetent office support who cant return a call for literally a week in a heat wave. And I am told they are really busy, but I am unsure with who can get these appointments because for me, they dont pick up the phone. Dont be fooled by the charismatic Paul, he cant save you from the rest of the staff and I am embarrassed I didnt stop this insanity of trying to get their help earlier. I called a new company today. They will have someone out tomorrow morning. I dont have a relationship with them, but they know how to pick up the phone. They will tell me what my bills is before they start the work, not five months after the work is performed. They will follow up on a leaking freon system in two weeks, not kick it down the line for years- all that and the office staff is friendly. That is how it should work. Spend your money elsewhere. Giddens just isnt worth it.

    Environmental Heating and Air Solutions
Filled questionnaire and gave them three available dates. Two weeks later they called to set up an appointment. I was no longer interested in them doing the job. Angie's List had refunded my money on the tenth day.

Bell Brothers Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning
It went very well, one part was malfunctioning after he job was complete. They came & replaced it the next day. They also came and checked out the system about 6 months after it was installed to make sure everything was working properly.

    RIO VISTA AIR
As soon as they found out it was an elderly person living there they rearranged their schedule and made it there within 2 hours and got it fixed. The had to replace 2 parts but the price was very reasonable and I recommend them to anybody.

    Lodi Services Heat & Cooling

Loren, Bob, and John worked like a symphony! Loren was in the attic (hot that day) cutting holes and running ducting while overseeing the whole operation, Bob crawled under the house, removed the old refrigerant lines and compressor then, with the help of John prepared and installed the new. John, when not helping, removed then replaced the old furnace. It all came together in under 12 hours! I can sum it up in 3 words: Quality, Teamwork, Professionalism.

JR Putman Plumbing, Heating and Air
Tried to upsell. Angie's coupon for 995.00 clearly said water heater and installation. Permits extra. Apparently the extra 1000.00 was not listed and Putman could not understand their own add. This was a truth in advertising or a bait and switch. The final additional charge of 1000.00 was reduced from a quoted additional 1500.00 after I strongly protested that I could have hired the local guy cheaper. The sales person immediately started to put down the local plumber. Not a good move on his part, because I will not rehire Putman. Installation was just okay. The technician had a shinny black spray can explode all over my garage painting my siding, white screen door, solid exterior door, pet food and dishes, and the garage floor. I didn't like the floor being painted but expected Putnam to replace the screen door and paint the siding. I'm not surprised that three weeks later they have not contacted me for a fix. I will be reporting to CLB.

B & B Heating and Air Conditioning Inc
Our home air conditioner stopped working on a 100 degree day, on a Friday evening.  I contacted 3 businesses via Angie's List, and left email messages that our air conditioner stopped working and was 20 years old, and we would need a new one.   Bob from B&B Heating and Air emailed the next morning and gave his phone number.  I called him and he said he would  come out in the afternoon.
I told him on the phone we needed a bid on a new unit.  When he arrived, he checked out our unit and said he thought he could fix it, which he did, for $268.  We were expecting to buy a new unit, which I had read online would be around $5,000, so we were
thrilled that not only did Bob from B&B have us back with air conditioning on a Saturday, but that he fixed it, when he could
have easily taken advantage of us by selling us a new unit.  When we do need a new one, we will be calling him, for sure!  I will
add that of the 3 we contacted, he was the only one who didn't say he would contact us on Monday!  No extra charge for the weekend, either.  You are a great and honest guy, Bob!  thanks again.

    Rod Johnson Son Air Inc
The guys were all on time. Staff was friendly. Installation went fairly smoothly and the new product works great. Rod Johnson has a manufacturer produce their own line of products, which they offer a 15 year warranty on. New system is very efficient. The only drawback was the demolition guys left a slight mess in the hallway during the removal, but they cleaned up most of the mess themselves.
